In this video I go over the design and 3D print of the Printable Accessories Modular Enclosure! This enclosure is 100% modular, you can build it to fit any size 3D Printer. Enclosures are useful for a variety of reasons, the most important being for temperature control and fume exhaust. Enclosures will not only improve the quality of your prints but can also be a great safety and organizational tool!
This enclosure features a ton of customizable options including size, themes, tool holders, and many more. The files for the enclosure can be purchased through the Kickstarter link at the top of the description.
Link to the acrylic store will be below when its live!

👀 WHO AM I ?!
After graduating from Engineering school I pursued a quick professional football career in the Canadian Football League. I retired from the CFL after just two years to focus on business development and investing. I currently own and operate an engineering design and 3D printing company and a few other businesses that are discussed on this channel !

Fantastic overview and can already spot some improvements that have been made to the files! Such a fun printable project
Heck yeah. Thank you UJ 🤙🤙
Very well presented.
I've been thinking of designing my own enclosure recently where you would actually print the panels as well, perhaps with the exception of the front panel. The plan would be to print it from transparent PETG so that it's somewhat visible inside and have it all hook together like a puzzle. Maybe sometime I'll have the time!
I have both omnis and can’t wait for this one.
Thank you so much!!
Nice one thanks for that
Nice design, good idea, but 85 € just for the print files is not my value for this. You can let me know if there is any serious discount, for now i will build my enclosure out of aluminium machine frame, ending up same price, but i will build a ceiling crane into it.
Very customizable like your Omni which is very cool.
Thank you!
G'day Austen and PA gang......looking forward to this project....i backed the Omni 1 and 2, im stupid and have dislexia which has made these projects difficult, so ive taken a step back from those as i find it complicated especially the Omni 2. But this Enclosure is what i NEED and doesnt look as complicated as the Omni series of projects. Cheers from A M8 Downunder
Appreciate you! This one is definitely easier to build!!
Thinking of doing a paint booth for my desktop with this setup and doing a few custom prints to make it work. Basically a tabletop paint booth that can be stored away when not needed
That would be sick!! Please send pics once you make it!! 🤙🤙
Looks great team. Glad to see Canadian dollars and American dollars in the kick stater.
Thank you!
Just donated on your kickstarter to get access to the STL files. Looking forward to printing this.
Thank you Darren!! 🤙
Kinda curious to see how much filament it'd take to build one big enough for the orange storm
Humm. Prob 10 rolls or something, however you could likely print it all in one or two build plates on there lol
If you added sloped sides to the modular pegboard pieces, they could print upright without supports!
True! They are specially made for the fasteners and being universal. We made them support free printing when flat!
What kind of filament do you recommend for this build?
this is more expensive than just getting PC panels and a v slot frame and make a voron style enclosure
Really interested in getting this, but I have a question. I understand the enclosure's overall size can be customized, but what's the length/size of the smallest extension ? By the looks of it, one piece looks like it's about 5" in length, so the case's length in any axis can be increased/decreased in 5" intervals ?
I am curious how well a fully printed enclosure (with acrylic panes) will last over time. The typical material you would print this (cause you don't have en enclosure to print ASA/ABS) would be PLA or PETG with a heat deflection between 50C and maybe 65C. Also if i interpret the ks graph correctly we are talking about 6kg of Filament just for the frame or 11 to 14kg with panels... Counting that i pay 20€-25€ per kilo of PETG, this is an expensive piece. 300€+ for fully printed or around 300€ with plexy plus the 65€ for the files themselves.
I have to say that i really like the design and looks of it, especially the themed enclosures
I’ve had one in the studio for almost 6 months of daily use with no issues. If you’re doing a heated chamber to print abs you’ll need to print the enclosure in petg. You can also control the temp with the inline fan if you use one
I wonder how much does this enclosure reduces the noise of the 3D printer, is there any comparison?
I'm considering one of this creality fire proof fabric tent pole enclosure with filter and fan for my A1. Anyone have good experience with those things?
Slightly confused about the kickstarter…if I buy now, do I have to wait until the kickstarter is over to download the files?
Hey mate! That is true! Pretty standard Kickstarter procedure. The full file set releases 30 days after the KS ends, we will be sending out a couple files immediately after though so people can get started.
After backing this enclosure I having trouble with finding out how to make up a custom one. What is a from the excel file "Enter Number of Elements in Below Fields" what is a element on the spread sheet and how can you plug in the numbers to come up with a part list
Hey mate! You just need to download the excel sheet to your computer and then you can put in your own numbers
Very coool but seems expensive considering the cost of filament and print time plus files. Lack tables are still only $20.
Very different functionality from a lack table haha
Approx how many kilograms of petg to print a 650mm x 650mm x 800mm enclosure?
I want to buy the files, but I have a question.
I will have to print 2 enclosure Or you can print one and expand so you don't need to print a wall of the Second enclosure?
You can just make one big one!
@@AustenHartley It's a good idea, the only thing I would worry about would be using two different filaments at the same time
Would love to build such enclosure, but €85 for just "some" files.. unfortunately way to expensive. Especially months later. Sorry if sounded rude, isn't my intention at all! I really like the idea! Would love it for my Prusa MK4! :) Only the downside is that the PSU is within the enclosure. :p
How many roles (1kg) does this print take for a standard size enclosure?
Depends on print settings and how you set it up (acrylic vs 3D printed walls for example). There is info on the KS page for it!
Where can I get the files. All pledges are gone? Is this open source?
please check out printableaccessories.com !
A link will be sent for the files on Feb 5th 2024, is that correct? Currently no way to get the files after ordering. First time ordering something like this in this manner...
Hey there! You will actually get them today as we are ahead of schedule :) they will be sent to you in about 3 hours!!
When are they files being sent out after purchasing it?
Beta testing was today. Files will be out tomorrow 😎😎
Beta testing was today. Files will be out tomorrow 😎😎
Don’t the electronics need to be moved outside of the enclosure?
Depends how big you build it / the chamber temp / if you have a duct fan going!
The themed doors Re cool but other than that its just a money grab 😅 this is the kind if thing people eould release for free online since something stronger and requiring a lot less printing can be designed in like an hour.
this seems very expensive in print time and filament versus just building a frame and getting some acrylic or real pegboard....
If you print just the frame and use acrylic it’s not that much printing!
@@AustenHartley do you know when it will be released
I want to buy but $69USD, not able to do this for another ten days, can I still buy it in ten days at $69USD
Yeah there will be a late pledge available!
@@AustenHartley Thanks thats when I get paid next, love to support you and be able to get myself a enclosure
@@yaboo007 appreciate the support!!
@@AustenHartley Just done the late pledge, can not wait
@@yaboo007 heck yeah!! The files will go out within 24 hours here! We’re just finalizing the back end
step one buy a 3d printer :P
... or print 3d printer on someone 's else 3d printer
