I remember getting to this point and screaming at my FC, “WHY IS THERE A DOG?!”
god is dog backwards, so the opposite of a dark god is a bright dog. makes sense to me!
So, I had a completly different reaction, largely due to there being a 5.x amarout quest in the concept registry with a flustered woman and her new concept, a near perfect description of a Golden Afghan hound...
I was like, "Man, this is so crazy, nothing will surprise me at this point." Five seconds later, "...touche, FFXIV."
Sometimes I wish players would just give them some space and let them experience the atmosphere of the area they’re in.
because no one seemed fussed about using the teleporter, i assumed that the aether for the tower was just powering anima and the moon laser. i guess it's just an allagan teleporter powered by normal means? (whatever "normal" means are for a moon teleporter.....)
edit: also, you found the moon hole :)
I actually just sat on the moon and watched the world rotate the first time I went up there. I wasn't alone.
Now the question, "Did Fandaniel know that he wouldn't have enough aether?" Did he engineer it so they'd have to go to the moon in person? He was sure ready with his teleporter.
he did say he wanted to die and take everyone with him. i could definitely see him planning all of that out to happen the way it does just to take (REDACTED FOR SPOILERS) himself and kill everyone and then himself. also the way danny with a fanny said "hark, victory is mine!" sounds super rehearsed. even for him.
@@baronfuath5872 Yeah, I think I just never even considered it til now, almost two years later. At the same time, he's random and opportunistic enough to really have no specific plan, but just jump on whatever he thinks is most entertaining at the moment. Maybe was more to him than I thought. Will have to think about it.
I mean, why would he NOT have a teleporter? I would've figured he'd be using it after he broke the seal anyway. I think that "change of plans" line was more referring to "ok, we have to go up and break the seal first now, instead of going up there and just letting you eat Zodiark." Not "change of plans, we unexpectedly have to go to the moon now."
@@KyrialArthian Just thinking about the line where he implores Zodiark to 'descend'. Would he need a teleporter for that?
I was under the impression that he thought he would have enough aether, but the destruction of the Tower of Zot deprived him of a sizeable chunk of the aether he had planned for.

I still dont get why everyone is Varis' best friend now -.- The guy was responsible for the 8th Umbral Calamity - even if we were able to avert it. If Zenos hadnt killed him, Black Rose would've killed hunderts and thousants of people! Eorzeans and probably Garleans as well.

In fairness to Varis, he was the grandson of a villain and he genuinely believed the indoctrination that was meant to sow chaos throughout the world. He had to scramble to stop the civil war when Solus died, and took the throne for himself since Solus never bothered to appoint a successor. And though it was said as a savage burn before murder, Zenos noted that Varis was struggling to keep the provinces together. Hell, even his son was a monster incapable of feeling anything throughout most of his life. He could have been a better person, but he was beset from all sides to be evil. He's quite a tragic character.

He was a dick. Born and raised to be one. But you have to have 0 empathy to not feel a little for what happened to him.

I absolutely wanted to kill Grynewaht. I wanted to put "Nameday" in the ground. He was totally irredeemable, and absolutely deserved to be cut down by me and my party.
Even despite all of this, seeing what they did to make Hypertuned Grynewaht? He didn't deserve *that.*
(Although my machinist heart does want to know where I can get his weapon)
@@wingedparagon4448 Oh, I pity him alright, doesnt mean I forgive and forget what he did and wanted to do. People can raise themselves above what fate has thrown at them - we learned that from Lucia and what she told us about Aymeric in HW. Upbringing and bad childhood is no excuse of being a jerk - neither ingame nor irl. Varis was a powerhungry warmongerer and wanted to rule the world - by any means possible. And he didnt care one bit who he had to step over and kill to get there.
I liked these guys, but only just realized I've been muted in their chat for months. Oof

In a way, yes... but only in how she's speaking. Hydaelyn sounds way less shrill than Sylvanas imo...
like a more british, less hateable sylvanas. most sylvanas simps are simping over a corpse with attitude problems and Hydaelyn's simps just have a Dommy-Mommy kink.
I mean, to be fair, it's quite possible I've forced myself to forget what Sylvanas sounds like as part of the WoW-recovery healing process XD
