I hate how people confuse "maturity" with "cynicism" when it comes to superheros. Invincible was a breath of fresh air compared to the Watchmen, The Boys and the Snyderverse.
Same.
Absolutely! Couldn't agree more
This! So many people think "mature" superhero media has to be super Grimdark and Edgy, but "Invincible" still holds up all the ideals of classical superheroes (determination, bravery, humanity), but just with more complicated circumstances and violence.
@@manicmuffin yes. violence and actions have consequences that you need to live with and will have a lasting effect (on the story and characters). The boys and such programs are just nihilistic and treats violence as shock/dark humour.
Harsh consequences, not nihilistic edgelords. I agree, huge difference. That's what made Walking Dead great. Harsh consequences
I love how they write Mark. He perfectly portrays how a real teenage boy would act with being a hero. He makes mistakes, he's irresponsible, but he has his heart in the right place. It's great.
As horrible as it was, I had to laugh when he said "Oooh shit!" when the old lady got even more messed up in the process of Mark trying to save her because that's exactly how a person would react their first time trying and failing to save people in the middle of a huge battle. It's that realization that the stakes are real and he was not mentally prepared for it. It made it feel very natural.
We'll see what you think should a certain saurian Hyde enter the picture...
@@christopherb501 By that point Mark is already a different person because of the years passing and all the shit he's been through.
@@ItsJustTeddington I'm saying that's the point where I started to have big issues.
@@christopherb501 you mean Dino man?
One of my favorite moments was Eve’s fighting with her parents on her front porch, and erasing her front door so her dad has to walk around the house. That’s the kind of petty I aspire to.
DON'T YOU LEAVE THAT DOOR THERE
Make sure to be responsibly petty.
I just realized the meaning of "Earth isn't yours to conquer". That hits way different with hindsight.
I figured as much. Like Omni Man wanted to become a Godking.
The entire Freeza Force/Saiyan thing was a twist.
I was unsure about Omni Man and Robot from the beginning. But the way Omni Man said that solidified my suspicions.
At the time, I was so sure he was going to finish the line with ", It's MINE" goes on rampage...
"If you are on *_the_* TikTok." Thanks Amanda. You have aged us all by 30 years.

That subway scene was the first scene to make me say “what the F*CK” with genuine shock for the first time in a *long* time.
Homelander only wishes he was every bit as ruthless as Omni Man.
Homelander is still worse in my opinion!!
I think that was the most violent thing I’ve ever seen and I watched a lot of movies from South Korea so that says a lot.
@@kavehteimory6413 Ehhh, I see Nolan as worse. Mark looked up to him as inspiration, then Nolan completely wrecks him, makes him kill innocent people and seeing them as less than important.
I was literally laughing and cheering during that. FINALLY a show details just how easily these super powered people can wreck your shit.
I'm making my own story for fun about super powered people, and yeah I have a few scenes like that just because it always frustrated me how super powered villains never would just start killing people in mass by literally chopping them to pieces. Humans are basically meat balloons to a super powered person, finally a series shows that fact accurately!
This show goes from 0-100 so fast. I love that it's animated.
I binged this show in a day. The violence and carnage are so effective that on some points I was actually uncomfortable.
@@Missjunebugfreak same! The building collapse sequence followed by the subway train crash made me physically cringe.
I absolutely loved the addition of the Little League scene. It makes Debbie directly responsible for stopping Nolan and clearly defines compassion as contagious, which is obviously very important later. I think Debbie may have benefitted the most out of the changes made, which is fantastic.
Yeah they definitely amped up her character
I traded up a bit when Debbie went to cry in her room after her and Mark got home from the hospital
God damn, Mark has really been horrifically beaten, especially in regards to his own dad trying to get him to destory his own home.
Also, the "You, Dad." After being ask what he would of 500 years later is heart breaking.
It fucking is. Like, even Nolan froze after that one. It's kinda what made him step away and realize he was killing his son, and he just left. Like, damn. Heartbreaking scene. I just wanna roll Mark up in a blanket and give him some hot-coco and comfort him.
Yea, it's not something that Mark has now lost...it's something Nolan realizes that he's lost too, by doing what he has done to Mark. Dude could have been fathering children like mad to make the earth stronger, he'd have so many children with him still, till the end. But instead...it was only about superiority and defeating other planets. Not making them stronger.
@@serenityfortune Especially for the upcoming seasons.
@@frostfang1 It's a sad thought. He essentially fathered a generation of people who had hope in him, who believed in him. Imagine how much more if he had more kids who were raised to defend Earth.
@@frostfang1: I'm not sure I like that take. If Nolan had been fathering more children just to make earth "stronger" he'd still be no less of a racial supremist. He wouldn't making earth stronger for the sake of humanity, but rather just be breeding up a ruling class for his own personal mini-viltrum empire.
It's crazy how massively this series exploded. My wife and I watched it, our coworkers watched it, my family all watched it... and we're in THAILAND.

@@Noname-gm5om maybe. It seemed like his main motivation was fighting people he deemed challenging.
Surprised you didn't comment on Nolan's "look what you made me do" line. It's so messed up and really speaks to where he is mentally
It's really a text book copy of what an abuser would say and its scary
SO MUCH of Nolan's manipulative, callous, and abuse hit too close to home for me. Then THAT line came out of his mouth as he was brutalizing his son and I teared up man. WAY too close - but I still get Mark's and Debbie's continued love for the guy. Ugh. Love this show.
Overall I'm overjoyed that Animated Series for Adults are making a comeback.
@@sakulaeyr9819 Same... What hit me bad too was the first time when Nolan hit Mark, and Mark was so scared and confused... Growing up as a child with a stable and healthy family it was so shattering to him, god, I felt so bad for him cause I just knew it's the start of an abusive pattern...
@@idagergely6235 if you're ok with spoilers...
It is not a pattern. That beat down is never repeated (beyond time travel shenanigans)
@@LiamNajor I don't know about the comic but as I see it it happened first time at the practice, then it continued when Nolan let people beat up Mark, when they went on missions together.
And when Mark got impaled by that cat guy, and Nolan didn't even move his fingers, he just watched from the air as Mark almost died, cause he didn't like Mark's decision to help a guy who is beneath him...
It for sure continued verbally every time something traumatic happened to Mark and his dad told him to suck it up, and then he nearly beat him to death while giving him severe mental trauma by butchering hundreds of people on that train. I personally think that's an abusive pattern, but that's just my opinion. He could have protected Mark from the cat guy but he didn't. He decided to never protect his son from harm, to never engage, just let it happen, and watched, and he also inflicted damage whenever Mark did something he didn't like. That's abuse, but again that's just only what I think.
Did anyone else not realize the symbol on Eve’s costume was supposed to be an atom, and was confused for a few episodes thinking she just hated women or something? 😅
This is news to me
yeah you can tell sometimes they just didn't draw the full thing so it just looks like an x
@@mikemorro140 The X is suppose to be her low detail version for when she's too far away to draw the curves

Yeah, I just had that big realization when looking at some of her art. Like: "Oooohhhhhhh, that makes more sense."
Yes, I thought it meant she was against the traditional feminism 😂😂😂
I'd say there is Foreshadowing for Nolan's sociopathic tendencies, just really really subtle.
The most obvious one is when he hit Mark and basically told him to "man up" which comes back in the finale.
I believe people also noticed his speech when he was their funeral.
I think the most obvious bit of foreshadowing to Nolan's true character was him ravaging the alien world at the end of the episode about the alien invasion. They straight up framed him as a villain in that scene.
I don't think they're that subtle after the end of the first episode
@@AmandaTheJedi agreed lol

I never connected the intro to episode 2 with Mark’s trash toss in episode 1. I just thought it was a random piece of trash somehow even though it shows the Burger Mart boxes... I am ashamed.
It's even funnier in the comics, the trash bag falling from the sky actually incites the formation of a cult, which remains a running gag through the whole series.

Anybody else stop watching one of Amanda's videos half way through because she just convinced you to watch something you weren't planning to, and you don't want the spoilers?
Several times lol
Thank goodness you didn't. It's almost impossible to talk about this show without going into spoilers. Be sure not to be quick to leave the moment you start to see credits. Invincible plays with superhero storytelling tropes a lot, so naturally a show based on the comic would embrace tropes of modern superhero movies by having mid-credit scenes, and I gotta say, they are masterful at the art of the killer cliffhanger.
That happens with a _lot_ of reviews I watch.
A bunch of times. I guess that's a testament to Amanda's taste in media
I literally stopped the video, watched all of the show, then finished the video lol

Invincible is not a deconstruction, is a reconstruction of the hero genre.
Couldn't agree more. It plays with the genre out of love and admiration rather than cynicism, which in a way makes it the exact mirror opposite of The Boys, two stories suoerficially doing very similar things from completely opposite storytelling philosophies in relation to the genre. It's all the more interesting that I'm pretty sure a lot of the exact same producers are making both Amazon adaptations.
Yes, and that's why I love it so much. For all it's violence and brutality, this is still a story about heroes.
I agree with that. All current superhero deconstruction is saying: "If Superman was real, he'd be a selfish asshole."
Invincible's version of Superman is still an asshole, but a selfless asshole; he is committing all his evil acts for the greater good.

It's more of a soap opera. The comic. I liked the animated show.
Okay, but was no one gonna tell me how many famous actors worked on this? I knew about J.K Simmons and Steven Yeun, but my god, there are A LOT of people here.
And what's crazy is that they were all great. It can become a damger when animated movies or shows throw im love action actors into voice over roles for the name recognition, and it usually suffers, but the casting throughout this show is phenomenal. They get recognizable regular actors and top notch voice actors too, and they're all great. My favorote random sode charavter cameo of a live action actor was Jeffrey Donovan, because I absolutely loved everything about him in Burn Notice way back when.
Additionally, the Guardians of The Globe are all easter eggs for TWD fans with Lauren Cohan, Ross Marquand, Chad L Coleman, Lennie James, Michael Cudlitz, and Sonequa Martin-Green voicing them
I'm so old when Amanda asked "Hey Kids, do you like violence?" My first thought was "wanna see me stick 9 inch nails through my eye lids?"

I honestly love what they did with Eve in the series. She helps people out without just defeating baddies. I've always thought that heroes would be even more useful if they used their powers to help their community like Eve does. They could end world-hunger and shit like she's trying to do, but they don't. This is kinda why Eve is my favourite hero in the story, even though my favourite characters are Robot, Amber, and Debbie. In that order.
Read the (web)comic Strong Female Protagonist sometime; very much this.
That's true. I also love that show touches upon superheroes mostly stopping big threats and ignoring systemic issues. That whole episode with Titan was fantastic exploration of that.
@@brucesnow7125 Yup. I really do love realism in the superhero genre. Making everything super cute and happy and fun is annoying, at least when that isn't the main point of the story. But when it comes to stuff that supposed to be serious, I want it to get real into the nitty gritty shit.
I feel like if they wanted to have Amber to break up with mark after he revealed he was invincible they still coulda done it in a way where she doesn't seem irrational or selfish for not understanding mark is saving lives. Like instead of having her know they could have had her find out when he tells her but still decide to break up since she wouldn't be happy in a relationship where she always ditched but still doesn't feel comfortable asking Mark to give her more time since in that time people who need him are getting hurt.

I really hope they do Eve justice. It's all great so far, but Eve is basically Dr. Manhattan. And usually shows or comics will kinda sideline a character like that, but I really wanna see her go all out. I hope they give us that in the future seasons

I can’t wait for Oliver to show up. The relationships that he builds with the main cast and the different perspective that he brings are probably some of my favorite aspects of the series.
Oh Oliver...dear sweet Oliver. The reactions to his appearance are gonna be fucking hilarious 😂
Oh Oliver. He's gonna rule. I think we'll definitely get him next season. Probably season finale. Or we might have Angstrom in the season finale.
The only thing I hated was Amber. She was better than the comicbook at first. You can't expect someone to reveal such a big personal secret so early in the relationship. Amber was being too unreasonable. Also it doesn't make any sense for her to call Mark a coward after knowing he literally just saved his friends life.
Yeah, she was cringe.
Yeah, I didn't enjoy it either, especially after she figured it out and saw just how fucked up Mark was after one of his missions. He also jumped immediately into action to save everyone around, and it's like Eve said, you can't unshare your secret in case something goes horribly wrong. They've been dating for just half a year, it's not like she married him without knowing the truth.
@@spacejasontodd I guess I can get behind her being mad he didn't tell her, I mean, after six months, she can totally resent mark not telling her. What doesn't work is her resenting him throughout episode 6. If she knows, it just doesn't track. Like if she was pushing him to admit he's a superhero, it would make sense, but she just doesn't give him a chance to explain himself. It's just a huge inconsistency.
I think the writing overall is inconsistent (in terms of quality rather than plotlines) with episodes 4 and 6 in particular being just... too rushed for anything really interesting to happen in them.
I want to make excuses for that as if she is an actual person with complex feelings. Maybe redirecting her anger about not telling her his secret identity as being angry because he left, but I doubt that's what the writers were doing.
@@maximeteppe7627 I think they could have fixed it easily just by removing that line where she claims she knew he was Invincible. Otherwise her motivations and frustrations made sense. Then when he reveals he's Invincible, have her just mad at him not only for not telling her but also maybe have her criticize him for not helping his friend? Personally I think her writing was fine until that one dumb line.
My friend told me that the part where Amber is pissed at Mark for finally showing his secret identity was because he was using it as a "get out of jail free card" and che was calling him in his BS. I didn't see it the first time I saw the episode but on a rewatch I can definitely see it
That’s how it felt to me too. Like he’s didn’t tell her because of trust, he told her to get out of the dog house.
@@SayHelloHelli But also Amber knowing could put her in trouble. I mean when Mark's best friend (sorry, forgot his name) found out accidentally he blurted it out to the first person he saw who just happened to be Eve. Even if Amber would never do that there's still a lot at risk and mistakes can happen, and knowing Amber and Mark are dating would be used by anyone trying to get at Invincible.
Battle Beast is voiced by Michael Dorn, Worf, Son of Mogh. Pretty great casting.
Robert Kirkman said we’re getting more Battle Beast in the show than in the comics, just because he loves working with Michael Dorn that much!
Merry man
I think that take on being animated might hurt a comic series is pretty common, but it also hurts the story. Like you can "create" a new character when it's animated, but if it's a RL actor, it's extremely hard to split the actor and the role. For example, Will Smith and most of his roles.
What are you talking about? I loved Will Smith in his role as Will Smith Who Is Good With Guns in Suicide Squad.
Honestly, I think we need more well-made high quality comic adaptations. Serialized TV animation is literally the closest thing to a comic book on screen. I love a lot of superhero movies, but TV in general is the best format for this stuft provided they get the live-action right budget. Making something animated means that there's no creative limit to what can be shown, and frankly, I've never appreciated the kind of shade and disrespect animation gets as an artistic medium as if it's "less than" when it absolutely isn't.
@@Tyler_W Animation doesn't get disrespect when its made by the Japanese. Its only American animation which is seen as for kids only.
@@TheFourthWinchester primarily because a lot of people who grew up watching cartoons ended up watching anime and seeing cartoons as either shows for kids, bad looking adult animation (ie a lot of the stuff on adult swim), or “this is cool, it could be an anime.”

That subway scene made me tear up! That final episode was brutal. Cannot wait for season 2!
War Woman’s death in the comic made me so sad
So a youtuber called Kaiserneko summed up Amber really well. She wasnt pissed at Mark for running away specifically, she was pissed at mark for lying to her, she saw that as a "ok either he tells me the truth and we make things work or he once again lies to me and shows that he doesnt care enough about this relationship to continue it" moment.
One of the best thing about this show is the think Mark meme on Twitter (the show was so good)
I never expect an animated series to have unfiltered gore, so this was simultaneously shocking-refreshing. I also don't read comics unless someone lends me one, so all I had to go on was the first trailer which did NOT prepare me. I appreciate the unexpected reveals and how the the opening scene tricks you. Glad your expertise overall approves, Amanda. :)
this show is tame compared to anime.
@@slowpie Aside from a few full episodes of Demon Slayer, I've only seen clips of other gorey anime so I'll guess that's true, although this show still has a good degree of it.

Same.
Eve going off to use her powers to help anyone she could find was such a cool story arc I liked that part of it cause I like to hope that if I or anyone else had her powers, they would do the same thing and help as many people as they can rather than only help when their leader says so
The only terrible part in the adaptation is how they handled Amber. It's not just how she treated Mark when he revealed his identity, but the fact that they kept parts from the comics that showed that Amber obviously didn't know Mark is Invincible, mainly how she went apeshit on Mark in the Reanimen episode when she thinks he ran away.
I assumed she went "apeshit" on him to make him feel guilty for lying to her about being Invincible, and to see what it would take to get him to tell the truth.
@@teraxe but if that is indeed the case, then that would mean that Amber is being a hypocrite
@@vashythewabbit8288 Or perhaps just a teenage girl. At least that what I tell myself to tolerate the character ;)
And the rebound at the end was also horribly made...
I think she was handled well and I really liked her until that one line where she randomly claimed to have known all along. If they just cut that out and had her upset at him for not telling her until it was too late and also abandoning his friend just because of their relationship problems, that would have been better. She's written to be a philanthropist, so her being mad at him for seemingly leaving while their lives were at stake, and THEN not helping his friend later and choosing to deal with their relationship first, would be valid issues for her to have with him.
Can I just say, I love, love the Meuller Twins? Big and beefy, but so much more complex. And they are smart? I love them. The scene with the Guardian was just...horrific. I was can’t help thinking about it. They made them real people, and their death hurt.
I picked up full pages years ago dirt cheap. I wish I grabbed more.
Let’s just say Gillian Jacobs did not Britta voicing Eve.
You Britta'd it.
When I tell you I cried at the Little League scene I mean I CRIED. Full on biting my shirt to muffle my sobbing. I don't think I've ever cried like that for any show, ever.
The ONLY critisicm I had for this show, was the aftermath of when Mark's father (Omni man) leaves. There's no PTSD or trauma from Mark. He just carries on chilling with his mates lol.
Oh, you want Mark to have trauma? Be careful what you wish for, because he’s going to get a lot of it. *A lot*
I fucking LOVED that show, it was incredible! Each episode had me on the edge and worrying for my faves and that ending was BRUTAL in so many ways. I can't wait for future seasons, hopefully they'll keep the quality up!

Steven Yuen does the voice of Steve in Tales of Arcadia, Voltron, American Dad, and a few other things. He's got experience as a voice actor. He's great.
Also, Doc Seismic is my favorite.
Me hearing Amanda's explanation during 19:59-20:22.
My brain: "So you are saying....They are pretty much Saiyan's from DBZ."
Me: "Brain! NO!"
You're not off by much. They're basically Saiyans x Kryptonians.
Mark is Gohan if Vegeta was his dad and never changed.
@@maxhydekyle2425 pretty much
I feel like they took Nolan's murder of civilians too far if he's supposed to be redeemed...like, you can't come back after all of THAT
No they kept it realistic. He is never truly redeemed even in the comics, he still committed the act but he’s necessary help that they would die without. Nolan lived through a tunnel vision of his species goal. What he did is irredeemable regardless but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get or try to be better.
@@Noname-gm5om Realistic? The dude used his son to slaughter a train. That's hardly realistic by any stretch of the word!
Exactly, in the comic's he doesn't kill people just because, he always has a reason, but we already have the comics, I'm curious where they take this or how they handle it
@@Noname-gm5om
bullshit they definitely redeem him in the comic the only real bad thing that happens is he's exiled from Earth and even there he's just on the moon and becomes leader of the Viltrumites plus Mark and Debbie forgive him
@@mikemorro140 Seeing as the show is Invincible with hindsight they could fix it
I love how Amanda keeps having to go '24 YEARS OLD' 🤣
I had no idea about this comic, I got into the show because the cast is absolutely stacked, and I'm glad I gave it a shot.
Literally they could have just wrote Amber at the break up scene to be like "oh god, I had no idea" and then she'd pause for a bit, maybe think she's dumb for not figuring out already Mark was a superhero and just say "I need some time to think" or something and the writing would be fine.
please remember that amber was flaked on constantly for 5 months and that she only knew for the last few weeks.
@@NathanWubs this doesn't really justify her "eat shit" attitude near the end, or the college attack episode.
In the comics, she breaks up with him and then talks about it with her friend and then puts together that Mark is Invincible and immediately gets back together with him.
I think that works much better.
The first season is a blast. Hopefully this show didn't run out of steam as the season goes by
The comic has an ending so they know where they're going.
Bit late, but I gotta defend J.k Simmons voice acting. He scared the hell out of me, the calm lying mixed with the cold rage and brutally. I've experienced that and he nailed it
My favorite arc in the comics is Mark vs Mark vs Mark vs Mark vs Mark vs Mark vs Mark vs Mark with a Mohawk
Hey you forgot about bald Mark.
I tell you, my dream casting for Allen the Alien was always Jemaine Clement. Nobody from the show consulted with me, for some reason, though.
10:25 can we just talk about how beautiful that shot is
this show is SO incredible, i’m currently trying to convince all my friends to watch it and i’m looking out for the comics now. i’m obsessed.
Amanda’s reviews are always great so I’m glad she did invincible
I literally love that show. The animation, the pacing, the characters, I just love all of it.
Cheered when I saw Conquest for a second in the Viltrum reveal. Cant wait for that lunatic.
And the last line is Mark remembering his dad asking him that question
Amanda's pretty chill about invincible considering she freaks out about teenagers
I can't wait for Angstrom, Conquest, Anissa and Dinosaurus to show up. They will shatter Mark's psyche into a million pieces.
And Thragg. Who shatters Mark's family into a million pieces.
I'm not so sure I want to see Anissa
we saw conquest in his flashback, I just realized
@@maxhydekyle2425 I don’t think we have a choice on that one. Keeping her in the story will cause a shit storm but taking her out of the story it will cause a *shit storm*
@@mangamango5569 Yup
Michael Dorn voicing Battle Beast is the perfect fit. Battle Beast lives to fight and has honour. He is like a Klingon. He is just being Worf and I love it.
Michael Dorn is *exactly* who I'd always envisioned as Battle Beast's voice.
Omni-man: What will you have after this show is over and forgotten?!
Fandom: the memes... I'd still have the memes, the DNA of a soul
Invincible is the next greatest animated superhero show of all time!! There I said it!
I LOVE INVINCIBLE. The only thing I regret it's the scene where William asks Mark to make him fly and Mark responds with the quote "this is so gay". I mean! they could keep it
When omniman is destroying the time aliens' planet behind the portal saying "earth is not yours to conquer", in hindsight this gets a whole different meaning. "Earth is not YOURS to conquer. It's MINE."
I don’t need to watch any other review, this was perfect! Thank you!
My best friend: You were right, Invincible is awesome!
Me: And it only took you 15 years
And that's how I found out it was released
“You don’t seem to understand, earth isn’t yours to conquer” -Omni Man
I was already excited for this show but seeing the voice cast and one of them being Andrew Rannells?!
YES!!
I think they're doing a separate Science Dog series and that's why in Invincible it's Seance Dog
I loved Red Rush's interaction with his wife on the date at the end of the first episode. Adds some nice weight to what happens to him in the end.
"Ambers Impact:
Amber: But the SOUP kitchen! You promised!!! It was our thing!!!
Good lord this character XD. Even after revealing she knew she still gives him shit for putting saving the world above her....its the typical dynamic of a spouse getting irritated for marrying a surgeon that gets called in the hospital all the time to save peoples lives, god forbid.
As someone who was unfamiliar with Invincible, just seeing a picture of Omni-Man, I would have thought JK Simmons would have been the fan favorite casting choice for him considering the character pretty much looks identical to JK Simmons.
I haven't read the comics, but the scences with The Imortal remined me of Wolverine, especially the flashbacks. I feel like in the show at least the team is more of a mix of Marvel and DC characters.
I'm exited for the next season and currently trying to convince everyone to watch the first season.
I been dying to hear Amanda's thoughts and feelings on this series since the first episode debut. So far the animation series is doing an incredible job at adapting the source. In some cases it's even better than the comic. I have a feeling Mark Grayson is going to be very popular in the years to come.
This show is so AMAZING! Can’t wait for the issues I ordered to arrive.
Strangely enough Mark's lines, "You Dad. I'll still have you." gives me the same energy as Dracula's "I'm killing our son" scene from Castlevania.
I love watching your reviews it always feel like I'm having one of those hype chats with a cool friend even tho here we still are at quarantine from Covid-19
Thank you for keeping us company!
Man, if JK Simmons was the same age he was for Legend of Korra, he'd have done Omni-Man a lot more justice than he already did. He did amazing, don't get me wrong, but I can hear some of the age starting to get to him. Either way, he was a great choice for the role.
I mean to be fair, I do think the scene where Amber gets pissed at Mark for seemingly ditching was more an attempt on her part to get him to tell her the truth.
Yea it seems very clear she wants him to tell her the truth on his own but he keeps waiting.
This can be proven because she doesn't say anything about knowing until he finally admits it to her.
Plus everyone, including eve says that he shouldn't have waited so long to come clean to her, especially when it was pulling him away so often.
That still sounds like a dumb, roundabout way to get him to do that when she could have just confronted him normally
Yeah but that's still kind of hard to do, ESPECIALLY because there were more people around at the time so that whole scene just seems more like an outburst than her trying to get him to spill the beans.
my thing is, why are people trying to put the responsibility of the truth being put out there on her, when if she had confronted him I could already see people getting super mad at her
21:55 That scene actually made me cry when I finally saw it outside of a meme. Regardless of his dad's crap he still says, "I'd still have you dad" as if that's all he would need to be the happiest person in the world. It makes the actions of his dad even more heartbreaking knowing how much his son loved him and his mom.
I honestly had no idea that would not only not water it down but, if anything, AMP UP how brutal this comic is.
