Burt Macklin Just my opinion but I don’t think he was under appreciated - he just didn’t draw the spotlight to himself like the others did. I feel like he was the glue that held everyone together and I am sure Freddie, Roger and Brian knew it. It took 4 people to make Queen and there‘s no denying he was (is) an incredibly talented song writer and bass player and i believe he also played piano. You just need to look at social media to know how much he still is appreciated today. ☺️❤️👑❤️
@@Daniel-kx7ip My all time favorite Rock N Roll bass player is Michael Anthony from Van Halen and that's only because of his backing vocals which were very critical to their sound. Cliff Burton also doesn't get enough credit. Metallica fanboys want Jason Newstead back but it was Cliff that was the most important component to that band's hardcore true heavy metal sound of their early years. Deacy also is very underappreciated for sure
When I was 13 , I played this over and over again for weeks . My mother, that was not into this type of music at all ended up grooving and banging her head with me . Precious memory . Ooooooh , I love this band so very much . Brilliant band and musicians .
Best front man, best bass player, best guitar player and best drummer.....it was the Perfect Storm! They were and remain completely mesmerizing!! ❤️🎤🎸🥁🤴🏻
I absolutely love this!! Freddie sitting on the edge of the stage interacting with the audience like it’s a small club or cafe instead of an arena full of thousands. I’ve never seen anything so mesmerizing!! ❤️👑❤️
Don't know of another Queen song that shows off each of them quite like this. And still somehow the whole ends up being greater than the sum of the parts. Awesome.
There’s a reason the album’s Queen on Fire - Live at the Bowl. In fact it’s my favourite live concert recording that I’ve heard, IMO much better than Montreal (bite me).
i saw their last Houston,tx. concert in 1982 and i was sitting right in front of the bass player and i can still hear that bass thump when he played dragon attack and another one bites the dust but nobody ever sang like freddy mercury did/the last song they played was we are the champions
They're you go best live band ever electrifying , on ze edge , had the LOT , l personally seen them with Freddie twenty six times all over the GB and my head's still spinning , PS The New Reincarnation with young Adam is Out of this World 😉 please Don't Stop x
I think this concert was broadcast live in the UK on a tv show called The Tube. We’d only just bought a VCR and I recorded it and watched it over and over again. Then we got burgled, the thieves took the VCR and some other things but also the tape of the concert. I was more upset about the tape being stolen back then because we could replace the VCR. Long before the days of the internet and CZcams.
Did anyone else notice that Brian switched guitars right before his solo? I suspect that a string broke on the Red Special because Brian is using the backup guitar. The band covered for him. Freddie added some vocals to cover the pause as John and Roger kept the music flowing.
John Deacon never gets enough credit or recognition for what he does. That will always annoy me.
Bass players are usually underappreciated by "the masses". Not a uniquely Queen issue.
Burt Macklin Yep like John Paul Jones also.

Yeah if you say John deacon is a top 10 bassist all of a sudden you’re a queen fanboy and don’t know anything about music

Yes, yellowsugar, you CAN covert mom to what great music sounds like! LOL
Is nobody talking about the amazing transition to now I’m here? I think it was flawless
They start with Now I’m Here but it’s cut out on this video clip.
Best front man, best bass player, best guitar player and best drummer.....it was the Perfect Storm! They were and remain completely mesmerizing!! ❤️🎤🎸🥁🤴🏻
Best live version of Dragon Attack, in my opinion. Fantastic!
Better than the record too.
I love how Brian's broken string made everyone just groove out the riff a bit before the solo.
"Go pretty boy! Go!" Freddie was so funny and talented

It was brilliant.
love how Brian comes in after his broken string as Freddie hits that note

It's better than the record too.

When Freddie is up against Brian dancing........ it’s too fucking hot 🔥
The only time John does the bass solo like in the original recording, and it sounds flawless
Every single one of them was (is) sooo talented, it’s just mind blowing... love them so much!! ❤️
A fantastic performance of an underrated Queen song. This entire concert is awesome
Freddie was the best frontman.
I love the Freddie Strut!!!!
Brian breaks a string, Deaky just keeps groovin' the bass. Lawd! Love that Deaky!
Go Deacon Go!!!!

Benjamin Urbina the bass player has a name dude
Dan Theman . I think he knows that.
I was at the Dallas one in 82 the day before and I still have chills
My favourite part of this whole excellent piece? Freddie telling Roger, “Go, pretty boy, go!” 🤣🤣🤣
Was this ever a disco song..... it's got that THUMPA THUMPA ... I love this version (live)
John Freakin Deacon!!!!!
In my top 5 favorite Queen songs.
There are guitar solos...then there is this one at about 4:40. Not long but wow so cool
170 likes and 0 dislikes..... damn they’re good!

Amazing performance. Thanks for sharing it.
Brian had to quick change guitars when he broke a string, watch and you will see him putting a different guitar over his head, lol
you can hear it break at 4:09

You're seeing it again on another version of "the Tube." :)
Amazing how with a string breaking the band doesn't freak out--they just focus.

love it, "go pretty boy go"""" lmfao
🇪🇸❤️
Such a great song. But anyone recognize John deacon on that bass? John deacon was a beast.
At 6:34 Does Freddie shout Scandal? It sure sounded like it...
