Personnel:
Joan Baez - acoustic guitar, vocals
Jerry Garcia - electric guitar
Bob Weir - acoustic guitar, vocals
Phil Lesh - bass
Mickey Hart - drums, percussion
Summary:
The first three songs are solo acoustic but the rest has Grateful Dead members backing her. Mickey Hart was dating Baez at the time and The Dead did 1981 album sessions (of several of these same songs) for her, which is why she was invited to do this show.
The first 5 tracks are plagued by a "60 cycle hum". They finally fix that just before she begins singing "The Boxer." Other intermittent audio issues occur briefly, but it is primarily excellent audio from there on out, so all of the material with Dead members sounds fine. - Hudba
Joan and Bob Dylan pretty much defined my youth. She was seated next to me at a café in Paris, 1995. Hardly knew how to contain the feelings. Just let the night flow on.
❤🎵Ich liebe diese Version des Songs von Joan so sehr.🎵❤
🎵So schön. Danke Joan 🎵
she becomes the music she plays, it flows through her.
BEAUTIFUL MUSIC ❤❤
Mickey was Lovin' his Luck with Joan during these days they were hangin' together.....
Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin' for a train
And I's feelin' near as faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down, just before it rained
It rode us all the way to New Orleans
I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna
I was playin' soft while Bobby sang the blues, yeah
Windshield wipers slappin' time, I was holdin' Bobby's hand in mine
We sang every song that driver knew
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose
Nothin', don't mean nothin' hon' if it ain't free, no no
And, feelin' good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
You know, feelin' good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee
From the Kentucky coal mine to the California sun
There Bobby shared the secrets of my soul
Through all kinds of weather, through everything we done
Yeah, Bobby baby kept me from the cold
One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away
He's lookin' for that home, and I hope he finds it
But, I'd trade all of my tomorrows, for a single yesterday
To be holdin' Bobby's body next to mine
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose
Nothin', that's all that Bobby left me, yeah
But, feelin' good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
Hey, feelin' good was good enough for me, mm-hmm
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee

Don't get me wrong, I like Joan. But I wanted to hear Bobby sing it.
I would trade all my tomorrows for knowing who was Bobby
@@pabloperez4063 Bob Weir? Enjoy your tomorrows!
Joan’s rendition is robust but Janis’s had more visceral soul. Ira Lee, Ph.D.
I love both voices, but overall Joan has always performed a "customized" edition of every single song she has ever sung! Her lyric way of singing and her angelic voice tend to embellish everything she sings! Regarding this video it's clearly a concert she was enjoying, so I found her not that serious. You will have to look for another performance of her of the song "Bobby Mcgee".
I love her since my childhood...
Cheers...
