- Bonjour, it's Théo 👋
Today, we are trying an authentic Bistro restaurant in Paris called "Bistro des Lettres". It's a type of neighborhood restaurants that serves the classic French food at an affordable price. 🍽️

Manon has such a pleasant speaking voice. Even though I don't understand everything she says en français, it's so pleasant to listen to her.
She needs to be back in another video soon 🥰
woww it looks soo good;)😋😋
What a brilliant idea, sending a letter to your future self!! Will definitely pop in one day. Can you tell us in which 'arrondissement' the restaurants you visit are, please? Great video 😀
Glad you loved it ! This restaurant is in the 5th !
What's your favorite dish in a French restaurant?
Beef bourguignon - French onion soup - Coq Au Vin - "Creamy Chicken Supreme" (not sure if this the correct name) - Crêpes Suzette ♥ I love others, too!
We'll know next year🙂
This year we say good bye to Norway, the Norwegian mountains and fjords! Next year we say hello to France 🙂 We plan to see Montmartre and rent a boat for the Sarthe River, and then decide where to settle ;-)
Bresse Chicken with morels omg yummmmmm to the heaven. In Lyon I had Quenelle so delish. With any sauces the French are masters ❤ I loved the food in Lyon more than Paris but maybe because I was less intimidated to go to quality (non-touristic) restaurants as I found Lyonnaise more friendly and welcoming than Parisians especially when I don’t speak anything but rudimentary French.
The French are always surprising, I will visit this restaurant the next time I come to Paris, thank you
I'm glad you loved it!
Theo .. your videos are excellent and so informative. Chez Denise, Le Balto, Pub O' Prince are my favorites .. I'm old school. Au revoir -Daniel (St. Germain des Prés)
Thank you so much !!
@bluewaterstudio are any of those in mont martre? I’ll be going this summer
J'adore le nom "Manon". Manon est mignon. :)
Salut Theo, really enjoying the fruits of your hard work in making these delightful videos🙏
I have never understood the fascination with raw meat of any kind. That's just me 😀😀 .
But I have some sincere questions...
May I ask in the French bistro do you have to order all the courses? Is it possible to just order an entree or a plat? Can you go and only order a dessert? Merci 🩷
PS French toast and ice cream . Wow. That is s dream recipe. 😊😊
Thank you ! I think it depends on the type of bistrot, if they are open all day long, usually you can order the dish you want, even just a dessert ! But if they are only open for lunch and dinner hours, they can feel a bit annoyed if you order just the starter or the dessert, and not a main course, because you are keeping a table for you while another client could have been there with the full meal. But really it depends on each restaurant, don't hesitate to ask them at first if it's okay, many small bistros like this one are very open and welcoming ;)
The poireau looked delicious.
It was so good 😊
Onion soup, escargole and boeuf bourguignon
So good !
We'll definitely go there, if it will not be overcrowded after this episode? French culture is so rich. Here we lost our cultural identity and our governments have gone mad, so then it doesn't matter if you live in the world's most beautiful and photogenic country.
I'm glad you loved the restaurant ! You definitely need to try it 🥰
Isn't bistro from Russian?
Yes it is. It dates back from the 1814 defeat of Napoleon against a european coalition. Russian soldiers were in Paris and they kept repeating "bistro! bistro!" in the bars to get their drinks quickly. The name has stuck.
Yes totally !
From the USA. If you can read , you can cook. Just follow a written recipe.. Watch some cooking how to learn techniques.
you are obviously American and have no clue about technique, which is not written on a recipe.
