  • This weekend it's the F1 2023 Japanese Grand Prix, but I wonder, if there's a better option out there. What do you think? Or is it already the best?

Motegi is perfect for the Japanese Grand Prix. Suzuka is also a great track, but Motegi is more Formula 1 suited track, despite the fact the track was never used for Formula 1. :)

Autopolis is worth considering. But I don't think Japanse GP needs replacement. Japan's massive Prefectures could easily be a host to two or more GPs annually.
Where racing and automotive manufacturing is really a "culture" is Japan, Italy, Germany and Britain. Then elsewhere. I'm not opposed to multi-racing weekends in each country, each season.
Monza, Imola, Mugello, Vallelunga and Misano
Suzuka, Fuji, Motegi, Autopolis and Okayama
    Nurburgring and Hockenheimring
    Silverstone, Oulton and Brands
    ...all worthy of considering
Centralized racing is, in fact, a smart cost-reducing strategy.
Less Middle East and USA; please.

Fuji as it is right now: 1) wide track width for side-by-side action 2) different lines 3) chicane for back-and-forth battles 4) long straights for slipstream battles 5) being in the rain shadow of Mt Fuji for a lot of changeable conditions. Probably better than Suzuka if you remember watching the 2008 (one of my first) and 2007 (went back and watched on Dailymotion cause CZcams copyright) Japanese GPs on TV.

Out of the tracks in this video I think Suzuka suits the current car the best with a majority of fast corners and only a small handful of slow corners. My alternative track recommendation would be Autopolis although the modern cars might not like the circuit with all the slow corners and technical bits.

only downsides for Fuji is that remote location and lack of infrastructure for spectators to drive in or come by mass transit is bottlenecked, Toyota bias when it comes to fan expression (no Ferrari flags allowed only Toyota ones), and expensive trackside food and other accessories.

I don't like Motegi, there are a lot of chicanes and 90 degrees corners. Fuji is a good track but the second part is a lot worse than the first one. I didn't know Okayama but I liked it, it has a good flow but Suzuka in my opinion is unbeatable😃 so my leaderboard is Suzuka first, Okayama second, Fuji third and Motegi fourth.
