Awesome footage, more than worthy of a sub.
Music to my ears!! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
It's great content, but the background music is distracting.
@@Kyle_Bush_Fan8 noted… starting to use less music…
@@TopToBottomMTB I don't want to come across as being mean. I'm jealous of your abilities.
Don’t sub he basically stole all the audio from single track sampler
Whistler is definitely more enduro bike friendly vs the Alps/European bike parks as a whole from personal experience. Whistler mountain is less steep and the trails are built and maintained to a higher standard.
Never been in the alps… hopefully some day…🤘🏻
The Alps are pretty scary especially Chatel, Champery, Freeride Morzine, Verbier, Morgins etc. Whistler is so smooth, flat and friendly. Still have PTSD from "The face" in Chatel.
@@skippylegrandgourou2069 agreed. Châtel is nuts. Rode Verbier last year and whilst not quite as scary the trails there weren’t in great shape and weren’t very thought out, especially when compared to Whistler. Unfortunately I don’t see European resorts adapting their summer infrastructure like Whistler to take advantage of all the real estate they have
When was your last time riding Whistler? Went there week ago and can’t agree about trails being maintained… At this point I felt like you need a DH bike to feel comfortable and not get fatigued that fast.
@@Timotelli rode whistler second week of July 2019 so it’s been a few years. Having said that, I’ve ridden the alps earlier in the season vs opening day and it’s been even worse.
Whistler mountain itself isn’t as steep as the alps, so the trails tend to be less steep and hence get less braking bumps, but it does get more traffic so it’s hard to judge 🤷🏻♂️
Great video dude. I've been riding my 160 enduro at least 4 times a week at Whistler this season and it's really starting to tell that it's not designed for it, I've just upgraded to a full DH rig just to take the load off my bike. I can run basically anything and it handles it just fine, and if you're dropping in for a day or two every month an Enduro is more than okay. But for daily riding the extra robustness of a DH is the main advantage.
Anyone else remembers Sam Pilgrim riding A-Line on his Dirtjumper?😂
I rode crank it up on a dj 🤣🤣🤣 can’t imagine a line with one though
Fantastic video brother. I appreciate your time and efforts and for what it is worth to you, I think that you have a truly awesome bike and one that probably doesn't get enough credit for how truly great that it is.
been riding whistler bike park for 8 seasons now. Started on a 160mm enduro, so I can say yes, it's totally possible. However, a DH rig will withstand much more abuse and the stiffness of the Dual Crown forks is definitely noticeable.
Yeah you’re right… it’s the right tool for the job but many people wanna get one bike to do it all as they cost quite a bit!🥵
Thanks for the video, that was so much fun to watch!
🤜🏼🤛🏼
Pretty cool vids! Great job! Just saw you on CZcams for the first time, great rider!
Thx! 👏🏻 Happy you found the channel and happy to have you in the audience! Cheers!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Nice riding 👍 and thanks for the video
You bet! Cheers!🤘🏻
Great video. Awesome riding
Thx Gary!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Another great video! One day I’ll be able to ride like that. N9 looks 100% capable!
Thanks homie! It sure is! The bike is up for anything!🤘🏻
I love your set up on your dh mtb.
Looks like a blast. Wish i had enough skill for those trails
Awesome stuff bud
Thx Homie!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Great video! Nice riding
Thx! Glad you enjoyed it!👍🏻
Amazing video, those drops made me so nervous though with people possibly walking under. Feels like there's definitely some tech out there they could put on the routes to flash at people under drops letting them know a bikes coming through.
Thanks! Yeah trail etiquette is something that should always be enforced. The tech might help one day…
Some riders can ride almost anything on a rigid bike because they have the skills. It's not about what you can ride and what you can't. It's about how much fun you are having it doing it and how fast you can go without getting out of control. If you have most fun riding double blacks on a DH bike then that's what you need. If you have most fun doing it on a 120mm downcountry bike, then that's what you should do.
True… ride what you like… what I and a lot of people are trying to find is one bike to do it all as we all know the price of bikes right now… and if you’ve ridden in Whistler or any other alpine park, you know that it’s super hard on bikes. I love the way the Collosus feels and nothing came lose on the bike so far all summer.👌🏻
Good video. I'm so curious about your camera and settings. It really captures the steepness well.
Thanks homie! I use the insta360 x3 chin mounted to my full face helmet.
At the beginning of the season trails are super smooth. I ride both Enduro and DH, i had a Norco Sight that i cracked after 3 riding days so yeah you need a DH bike. My Scott Gambler has 300 bikepark days between Whistler and the Alps. A line is so bad at the moment and it is going to get worse with the crankworks.
this is actually sick, good job on the 12ft!
Thx homie!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Chur bro, you're a mean rider 🤙🤙🤙 watching from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Thx homie!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Looks like very enjoy ride
Sure is! Love riding in Whistler!
rode the park on my dh race rig and on my 150mm trail bike throughout last season. Only thing in the park that isn't made for a trail bike at all is the 1199 Racetrack, wich is selfexplaining as it's meant to be ridden on a DH rig. Everything else is great with the trail bike, even Pro lines like Dirt merchant and Dwayne Johnson. Only thing that was a bit much was crabs, would definitely recommend a DH Rig for this. Everything else is even likely to be more fun on a trail bike
Every video I watch makes A-line look like a breeze but this footage has it looking SUPER steep! Holy moly
Yeah the 360 cameras are the only ones that’ll show steepness…
great video
Thx Cliff! Glad you enjoyed it!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Josh of Daily MTB rode double blacks using a hardtail. Heck he did Crabapple Hits with it too. Lol
That is so epic!!! When you said you were going to hit dirt merchant my jaw dropped 😂😂
Wasn’t planning on it… but I was feelin’ it!🤘🏻
@@TopToBottomMTB Heck yeah you were!! 🤙
bro that place looks like downhill heaven
Facts
Crank up feels like a videogame trail... man I wish we had superb flowy smooth trails like these back home...
Where is home?
I’m so glad the video wasn’t 60 seconds!
🤣🫶🏻
Great footage. Which camera are you using ?
Thx homie! 🤜🏼🤛🏼 it’s an Insta360 X3.
Even with a 150 mm suspension bike you can ride the Wistler one.All is depending on the rider's skills!!!
Dude I was at whistler no joke 3 days ago
I'd stay on the blue trails and use my hardtail. I think I'm passed the age for progression to those jumps and shit. If I had a full suspension I'd probably kill myself thinking I have skills that I don't.
Looks like that’s a “no!”. I hope no one is discouraged from taking their mountain bike to a down hill park. There’s so much variety in most of these parks that there’s something suitable for everyone.
Definitely a NO! With the amount of side hits to jib around and like you said the sheer variety of trails in the bike park... the enduro bike is the best weapon!
I just spent a bunch of money going to Whistler a month ago. It is my second time going. The first time I took my trail bike and my wrist got absolutely destroyed by braking bumps. I just did one day because I crashed at end of first day. For the next year, I bought a beefier suspension bike because I wanted something I could take to Whistler and still ride local trails. While it wasn't as bad as my trail bike, my wrist still got destroyed after 2 days. When you have to dodge and even think about the bumps all the time, you can't take the correct lines and you have to be more cautious on braking, not allowing you to keep trail speed. The 2 days I went this year were super wet in the morning, meaning I had to brake super early to turn with confidence. I think you can ride almost anything at Whistler, but to get the best enjoyment of the place, next time I will be renting a DH bike with 200mm+ of travel and 220m brake rotors.
Geez you're not underbiked last time I brought a stock 2017 Rocky Mountain element, cuz practical reasons 😂
*I have to insist on the fact I didn't end myself, still in one piece.
I just subbe like mins ago
Cheers!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Man, I've been wondering if I made a mistake getting a T8 instead of a N9... It seems like the better bike all around, and was cheaper, but also almost 8 pounds heavier. The only hills I go down are the ones I ride up, so I still think I made the smart choice, but that N9 is sick!
I think you did too! The enduro bike is not meant for climbing, it does it but…
Love the T series for all-round trail riding!💪🏻
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how you do a sponsor proud.
What else can I say!? They made a great bike!🤘🏻
@@TopToBottomMTB And you made a great video, being very sincere!
I live in bc to I live in Penticton
I know the camera is making it look even more so, but damn those trees are close!
It does get a little tight in there… just gotta stay focused on where you wanna go!🤘🏻
How tall are you? What is the frame size?
5’9” medium🤘🏻
Try no music when ur riding just raw clips will be heaps better
Yeah… I’ve been toying with that idea…
Blake from G*** proved all you need is a hardtail bike.
Blake Samson is a mad man!
Is it possible with a xc bike?
It would be but not for long… your hands or the bike would rattle lose.
what distortion level is ur insta360 footage?
The lower settings are 100, 20
What do you think? Too Fisheye? Just right?
@@TopToBottomMTB NO! its amazingly balenced, mine is too fisheyed, i want to copy urs and i did just that. These cameras are amazing, eh?
Absolutely love it! One shot, and re-frame it for vertical and horizontal… 👌🏻
@@TopToBottomMTB i love that part! do you have diffrent settings for vertical vids?
@@kylegoplin yeah I go to 120,20… you see a little more handle bar…
Every bike park is a trail bike park when you compare modern trail bikes to DH bikes from a couple years ago.
This is the exact same audio as a single track samplers video titled the same thing
Which one? Only see 2 videos of him riding whistler and they are nothing like mine.
His vid called do you need a dh bike at whistler
@@Bikinthroughlife link please… don’t see it.
I think I might if rewatched your vid sorry
Did u see a bear off camera ?
Oh yeah! Tons of bears and cubs up there!🧸
Yep I did too up there
BCPOV uses a 150mm bike. You’re definitely not underbiked
nope. GMBN did it on a hardtail. 🤣🤣🤣
😂
Did you buy the bike with your own money or are you sponsored by Polygon?
Polygon is a supporter of the channel… Great bikes at a great price!👌🏻Hard to beat!💪🏻
Ok bit y are your bars so narrow
No it’s the fisheye effect in the video… they’re 780mm
@@TopToBottomMTBahhh ok that makes a lot of sense, the fish eye mad them look less than 280mm. what camera/lens combo are you using? and is it a helmet or chest mount? your footage is super smooth!
@@ONERR4RF it’s a chin mounted insta360 x3.
