Why is nobody talking about the Detarame (Drazgose) Pass? It’s a 2022 Assetto Corsa touge mod that everybody seems to have forgotten about, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out why. Probably because it wasn't featured in Initial D, thinking about it...
It features almost hellishly bad roads, which is of course a good thing. It takes you through some lovely scenery, and multiple villages. It has a vibrant mix of very technical slow areas, and fast, scary ones too. And, it even has uphill and downhill in a single run. Chef’s kiss
This is a touge that I had actually discovered a couple of years ago, and I absolutely loved driving it. But it fell by the wayside and I had totally forgot about it. That was until I was sorting through my mods folder, and came across it once again.
I knew I had to load it up, and relive the thrill that Detarame will give any driver. From the very offset, you’re thrown into the mixer. YOu have to thread the needle through this extremely uneven road, and propel yourself into a narrow corridor, between buildings that tower over you. You then need to maintain maximum braking over the bumps, and hook left, narrowly passing past the people of Detarame’s properties, and if you collide with them, which is an extremely likely possibility, the run will almost certainly be over in it’s infancy.
The road only gets worse from here as you proceed onto the uphill slope. And I must stress, that is absolutely NOT bad thing. If you don’t counter steer enough, or don’t use almost perfect throttle control, you’re going to lose the back end over the very much imperfect asphalt, and that’s before you even take the corners into account.
These corners are so frigging uneven that it would throw even the most well balanced cars off balance. And, it’s very likely that you’ll be getting up on two wheels over most of them. Additionally, like old real life roads, the outer edges are actually depressed a little with a bump in the middle from all the use they’ve gotten. So, you best believe you have to pick a line and stick to it. If you deviate from the grooves gifted to you by mad lads that have sent it up this road before, you’re going to be rolling down the hill before you can say “oh shit”.
Ejecting yourself from these few turns is almost as difficult as taking them. You’d think because it’s uphill, you can just slam on the throttle and everything will be rosy. But, you guessed it, you can’t do that at all. If you use dollop even a slight amount too much of sauce on the exit, the rear end it going around.
After ambling up the hill, you’re greeted by this crest. After it? The first hairpin. You actually need to start braking on the crest in a lot of cars. But at that point, you’re tossed into the air. So, you best be used to the car you’re driving because it’s extremely easy to lock up and go head first into that guard rail.
Now if you’re a subscriber of mine, you’ll know my philosophy on hairpins is to kick the rear end out, step on the throttle and slide around them. When in doubt, go flat out some might say. Well, this isn’t just any old hairpin. It’s actually almost a tightening double apex, and the radius itself is quite large. Pair this with the still uneven road, and drifting isn’t such a great idea.
We can’t take the racing or ideal line either. As, if we swing it out wide and try a late apex, those grooves in the road I mentioned earlier will surely throw the car around. So, what I like to do is dip my inner tyres into the grass and hug the innards all the way around. Once again, if you get too confident on the throttle, the rear end is going to spin. And trust me, you don’t want to be sideways leading onto this next section.

Tarmac rally stages are extremely fun. I can see why you want to bring them some attention from the touge community. Definitely some of my favourites in any rally game if they have some good tight ones.
Yes and you get to see alot of initial D stuff happening in real life
Like how drivers manage thier breaks and tire pressure on a downhill run and it being a real issue
you get to see drivers taking cuts and sometimes the cars almost seems like hooking on to ditchs which is crazy😂
I mean It is so cool😅😂❤
In my opinion the WRC is the most demanding motor sport of all time
There is alot of drama all the time
There are even Stages that are mixed between tarmac, gravel and broken tarmac
Spain on Dirt Rally 2.0 comes to mind
I agree as some of my favorite moments in Dirt Rally 2.0 were on tarmac
I've been driving this course since 2019. That's where and when I found out the GT86 is actually a good rally car.
Yep, GT86 is used in All Japan Rally so it checks out
Unsurprising not gonna lie.
I'm from Slovenia and watching the first 3 minutes I was deadass thinking to myself "damn, this looks exactly like a Slovenian mountain road."
And yes, that is the state of the roads over here.
i actually knew this wasn't a touge since the start. the nature, roads, houses and everything looked so much like he country i live in (wich is near to slovenia), i got pretty sad when i heard it's a rallye stage from slovenia.
I got pretty happy when I heard it was from Slovenia since I'm from Slovenia
@@d066y You are not alone here
mj relatives live pretty close to the place, watched the event myself once
@@benjaminbenjamin7735 damn that's lucky, there are no special motorsport stuff around the place where i live, the closest one is like 150 km away.
This is the uttermost accurate depiction of slovenian roads, and trust me when I say it, it ain't much better in real life.
No wonder some pay more for a simracing setup than a real car. Less expenses driving these roads plus mod support.
We have some similar roads in Poland. I love such roads when in my stock Micra K11 or my '92 Toyota Camry. Need to visit Slovenia some day
As an austrian I immediately knew something was off! This is alpine! I thought "Hey, why does this look like home when it's supposed to be in japan?" And yes, alpine mountain roads really need to be included in touge. There are so many undiscovered gems.
Well i would drive on this map if:
1. I had a steering wheel, pedals, shifter and handbrake
2. If i had asseto corsa
I watched almost all your videos about touge starting from slip angle, but still i cant use it nowhere
assetto corsa has to be one of the cheapest sims out there, just keep your eye on steam sales (or humble bundles)
Felt and same
Check Instant Gaming... 13,99 for ultimate edition!
Got it on sale 9 bucks with dlc, which you need for mods
Me on keyboard absolutely struggling
I've been looking for a touge like track that doesnt have perfect surface, I love it, Im downloading it right not. It reminds me to shomaru but on steroids
You can also look at the takigahara pass. It’s roads are very bunpy and challenging.
The RTP is creating new kanagawa maps with bumps and shit

_"Detarame touge"_
*Something's wrong, I can **_feel_** it...*
I actually love rally stages, which is why I play a game called Art of Rally, may have heard of it. The bumps in the road on this map pretty much make it feel like a loose material, such as gravel or dirt. Not much traction, not much grip.
Funny because every mountain roads in Swizerland are an exact copy of that track. I own a AE92 corolla liftback and i train myself on this roads all the day of the year. Touge and Rallye is a daily part of our lives, as man of the mountains. Great vid mate!
Wait this is not touge is stage on Rally Železniki to be exact HP/SS Dražgoše here in Slovenia
(it is pretty realistic)
(never mind you said this in video)
The moment I saw the start and the houses I knew what I am looking at too 😂, have snagged the car on that nasty wall mid corner 😌
Don't worry, despite appearances the touge and the Rallye community aren't that far apart. I would even say that most people enjoy both.
Keep up the brilliant videos. :D
Loving the effort put in recently!
Awesome video man 👍👍👍 I just got my wheel a few days ago and I just learned how to drift today and I learned how to connect a few corners today
Bro you are literally the best sim racing youtuber right now. You always have good takes, the production quality is superb, you break down optimal driving inputs for crucial parts of a stage, and you always leave links to the map. Love your content man.
I am slovenian and this brings me joy
Also 3/4 of slovenia looks like that
Actually i know this stage very well from Richard burns Rally, it even looks exactly the same there. So I will give it a try because i have a lot of knowledge about this stage
There's Joux plane too, a touge in France, which I've rarely seen anyone driving
It's a fantastic track.
I want to recommend you a Touge.
Mt. Chiliad from GTA SA, it has two roads. one is copy of Irozohaka and another one is more like Tsubaki i think, its really tough to drive, tricky, and LOADS of fun.
I actually race in GTASA down mount chilliad and I have to say it's fun even in that game, because one tiny slip up and you're history
Underrated video and editing. This makes me wanna skip work and try this course out. I havent touched my simrig in a while and have been stuck just playing Touge life #1 every time
same situation🥲
Someone should make an Australian range as a course/circuit. They are extremely hard and dangerous and uneven. Mainly the best Australian range is in Queensland Australia and it's called the gillies range
Damn you keep making even better vids
Keep up the good work mate!!
Mate wicked mix of old school bangers!! Very rare you hear some ST files and one reminded me of bukem. Do you have a playlist? Many I didn't recognise. Love the vids man
Just when I thought I had all the touges... thanks for making me aware
bro, the channel is so underrated, why is it stil not on 300k
You should do more videos on non-japanese touges
This map is insanely good! Thank you for showing it! So far , the best time ive gotten is 6:27.6 in a MR2 GT-S. I dont know if its anything special, i dont have any time to compare it to. Sooooo , people , i am really curious how fast you all can finish a lap. Cheers!
This made me think of my "favourite track" for ages in AC- Joux Plane. And I just realized this was 8 freakin years ago. Insane.
This looks amazing. I am so bored of flat smooth roads, that I can't describe how wild and natural this looks in comparison.
Another touge-like track to add to the ever expanding list. Thanks!
Awesome looking rally track! If you like this you will probably enjoy Col St-Roch and the other French ones 👍
Thanks for introduce this track its super awesome my friend.
i would of clicked. rally before drift for me. been a long time since i had a sim set up so never played assetto, but one game i played a lot was ritchard burns rally the tarmac stages in that game remind me of this road. love your videos dude.
I live 50 km away
from Dražgoša and I can tell you that the road is really narrow and cracked. Good thing that my car has a few centimeters ground clearance haha.
this reminds me of the spain ralley
omg, i cant believe this got 3 updoots
it makes a lot of sense that I fell for this. Touge is a discipline born of the bright sun of touring car racing and the lonely moon of the rally driver - so seeing rally stages be used as touge is great
Love the video keep up the great work
i have been driving this pass with the mr2 for the past few day and i'm only starting to get it! dosen't help that i'm on gamepad but still crasy fun!
I enjoyed this video but what made me to stick yo yje end was this DnB tunes. For long time i did not tune in for this type of chill DnB. Props for that. Also good video montage. Was entertaining.
heck yeah id love to see more showcases of 'touge' roads not in japan and rally stages
Ah the Drazgose pass!, i live in Slovenia and me and my dad rode on it a few times, its fun!
Best touge content on youtube right here
Love the 1st gen MR2
Seems like the perfect stage for a peugeot 306 maxi
I knew what was up as soon as you quoted McRae
what camera settings do you use? the side to side movement looks awesome.
In my heart, it's still from Initial D.
Okay, Man we need to talk. After watching your amazing video yesterday i went to your discord, got the car (I assumed it was the tuned version) and tried on Tsubaki Line... WHAT THE ACTUAL F... how can you control THAT car on a surface like that? Tsubaki is pretty much a flat road and even there the car just has a mind of it's own.
Whenever i stepped on the brakes the steering would lock up, no matter how little pressure i exerted. I just lose control as soon as i'm over 90km/h and/or lift the accel pedal (eve n for a tiny fraction)
The car is nuts, and you driving it like that on an uneven road makes it the more impressive... Ku-fucking-Dos
You should make a video about the Rally Stage Semetin which is even better in my opinion. I do live 100km far away from this stage :D
Perhaps you can recommend some good beginner touges aswell? As a beginner with a no force feedback wheel I would greatly appreciate something like that!
looks like a good touge, never heard of it. I need to try it, but more than a touge is a rally road (or the road that goes to my house xdd)
Have you made a video about Transfagarasan? Been drifting it for 10 years its an incredible road!
This looks amazing, downloaded and about to give ita shot :)))
Such a well made video 👍👍
My guess for lack of interest is lack of support for Sim Traxx after finding out the truth of how many of the original modders are treated. That and the fact that low poly roads feel like ass in assetto and sim trax don't seem to bother updating the road mesh, only the price.
Try Tuna canyon in the Malibu hill 🔥
There should be more of those European Touge looking like stages. They're such a refreshment to touge
I had a feeling from the get-go. It just felt like a rally stage, and honestly I don't mind. Rally stages are good by me.
Zombie spectator got me. hahaha
Great video lol. What car is that btw?
Edit: joined the discord and got it. Thanks a lot!
Ah, this reminds me of the roads in my country 💀
Subbed for MR2 AW11 and good editing
I thought it was Bulgaria when I saw the architecture as opposed to Slovenia. Did make me wonder why the WRC doesn't go to the Touge.
Hey TSRB can you cover lift and coast next video
I appreciate you content bro
Sent this in a quattro s1 e2 and it is amazing
This is the closest to getting a track at the Javanese Mountain range
What car is best for this track in your opinion? 4wd (Impreza WRX Tuned) did fine, also Kunos AE86 tuned with some custom setup (higher, softer) did just as fine for me.
i guess i know where im going to go for a drive this weekend greetings from slovenia
can you do a video on cars with good physics for assetto corsa? i find that a lot of them are just badly made compared to others and especially the kunos cars.
honestly it's kinda a roulette with finding quality mods, you just need to find the good ones with trial and error. the touge life servers always had good cars, and it's a good place to start with finding mod makers you like
You should take a look at Shomaru too! But this looks like a "better" version in my opinion, if you know what I mean...
From an outsiders perspective, Touge simply seems like Single Driver Tarmac rallying, which sounds ludicrous. Which it is imo.
So good stuff on you showing that there aren't the sane tracks needing to be done over and over again.
Also , there is a map from the same guys over at simtraxx who did this map , its called Brasov. Its a rallye stage aswell, in Romania (where im from) and i gotta say, ive driven on it at least 1000km. Its really good! Maybe you could make a video on it, just saying. But , please , for the love of god , try it! :)
I think i've got this one installed actually, will have to check it out again!
and i wondered why it looked like an austrian village in alps XD theres some realy nice togue here but this isnt the one. but thats why we built these rigs.
Next time you drive can we get either pedal cam or telemetry? (i suck at awd and wanted to get an idea)
This makes me wish someone would turn Quimby Rd. and Mt. Hamilton Rd. in california into an assetto course.
This looks like a very hard drift track I like it
i knew at the first minute of the video that this isnt a touge, was wondering how this looks exactly like my country road and yet it was actually slovenian.
Really realistic bumpy road
PS can i ask you which is the artist of your bgm? This is very good background music. I'd like to know. Thanks
Have you a link for the car ? That looks so good ! And what's the track at 0:14 ??
discord.gg/fvvDadaRjt
Make a video talking about mid engine cars
Man, I can't decide what to do. Listen to your experience or listen to dope dnb :D
Next video Under rated vehicle for touge
The best touge is the 78km track from the 70s: Targa Florio!
Is it me or this feels like a Richard burns rally stage?
I've been trying to make the DDM FC my main but it just feels too awkward through some corners, can never manage to even powerslide it, maybe it's just me being awful or it's that the car is just like that
It also feels like 200hp, which is good, because that's what it has, but it's also not good, i could use a bit more, but it's encrypted, so i can't do anything to it sadly
An idea would be set a time an challenge people to beat it
I litterally went scouting for this map to make a video without watching all of this
that Tony Robbins voice
This is pure Balkan Road Driving
Noice
Wasn’t this a track from Richard burns rally?
I was just about to comment that it looks like a good rally stage
If you use a wheel is there anyway you can release a video showing your settings!?
This has such a rally feel to it, love it, thanks for shining light on it 👍
side note: is there a way for me to download this course?
Ill do cat and mouse on this track anyday. Maybe even pull of a pass
LOVE IT ! BUT WHAT ABOUT TRANSFAGARASAN???
Yeah, I thought this was more of a rally stage, it did look very European like. My first thought was "This looks more like a rally stage than a touge"
This would be amazing in BeamNG Drive
I twigged right away, and once you used mcraes quote, I knew for sure 😅👌
