MY FIRST UPGRADE FOR THE Z!!!

  • After driving my Z for the past little bit, I’ve come to appreciate a stock and quiet car. I can drive it like an ass hole and no one really looks twice because it is quiet. At the same time, if I’m just cruising on the highway, it is difficult to keep track of my speed without looking down at the tach since I can’t hear the engine. Well my first modification to the Z is going to help me solve that problem.
This is the first of many things my 370Z needs for upgrades / modifications and I figured this should help other guys that purchase either a 350 or 370. These are a fairly enough bolt-on, they make more sound, and DO NOT produce a CEL since they have an angled O2 sensor bung on them.
If you decide to do any kind of modification to your engine, you should get a tune. It doesn’t matter if you replace the air filter with a better one, of you go all out with a massive turbo setup… if you play with the engine, you should get a tune to get the most out of your upgrades. I will eventually be purchasing a tune & dyno tune, but it makes more sense to me to do more mods and THEN tune it, so I don’t waste hundreds of dollars.
What I found to be cool is that these test pipes can be installed on any RWD VQ car. You can install these on your Infiniti G35, G37, Nissan 350z and 370Z.

I get what you're saying with the exhaust but stop trying to justify modding your car. Its your car after all. Just say, "I want my car to sound cool and loud." I don't think anyone would disagree. Just my two cents.

You could've just said you were replacing the exhaust for better exhaust note and better flow instead of all that b.s. about safety and not having the awareness of your own speed. A stock Z is not exactly quiet IMO. I hate the high pitch exhaust note of stock VQ motors, especially in the Z and Infiniti FX/G35/G37s, and I used to own an FX. Aftermarket exhaust is an improvement for sure.

    • @PR1NCETD0T

A stock BASE Z is quiet as hell, i have one, and about to put an exhaust on it in a couple weeks. Maybe with windows rolled down and no music you can hear it a little, but besides that, way too quiet.

if you want to enhance the sound of the car, you just do it, dont need to find a "stupid" escuse do do it , unless he has some hearing problems. I am not a hater, I am a lover, but this excuse is silly. Dude it is a V6 , did you hear the sound?? You want to tell me if you press the pedal you dont hear the sound or feel the speed?? Sup Milan, I was getting as frustrated as you with those daemon bolts, hope you added some antiseize to the new ones.
Have been thinking on giving you these advice for a few months already :
Try to avoid repeating yourself that much, just look at how many times you said the car is new and has that many miles. And I get a part of that is because of the frustration with the bolts but it is not something new on your videos, I think you are good on making your ideas clear enough that you don't need to keep repeating it over and over during the video, it makes it a bit tiring to watch.
Anyway, just my 2 cents, I'm glad you are posting more often and got two interesting new cars to work on.
    Cheers from NYC.

I am new to the occupied territory of California and purchased my first 370z (2016). The car is supposed to be 50 state compliant but I believe my first inspection for re-registration will be in May 2019. Also, I have only 6,000 miles on the odo so the car will most likely still be under warranty. Being a Harley owner, the first and easiest thing we did was install a performance exhaust that emphasized that famous exhaust note. How does your mod stand up to state mandated compliance in the jackbooted corrupt chain of private inspection stations that often send a Prius back to the dealer due to excessive offgassing during the charge cycle. Sulfuric acid and Hydrogen are Killers!
Let us pray: "Oh Lord, return me to a free state in this United Republic. Maketh me not a felon where I can buy an item legally regulated, from an agent of the oppressors and while I sleep have it outlawed. Saveth me from agents of the state who secretly change laws to ensnare honest men and destroy their property without benefit of trial.
Changing things never made me scared before. Thanks man. one of the best produced vids.

I've always had issues working on Nissans. Rust can be so bad on them. Had an 02' Maxima SE and half of the heads of the bolts just twist right off. Very soft metal! Had to get rid of it when the floor jack went right through the frame when trying to lift it to change the tires. I have Toyota(Lexus) now and much better quality of components.

Haha love your video with the ppe headers but idk what kind of vintage dump trucks you were used to driving to think that the 370z is very refined, it’s one of the loudest cabins I’ve been in lack of sound deadening and tons of road noise comes into the cabin. But it’s a sports car so I expected some of that. And while I do enjoy some noise ya don’t need it to tell what your doing you are in control of the car I know when I’m accelerating and when I’m not lol.

A Allan 10mm (for example) is tighter than normal 10mm so it has way more bite. Do a muffler delete man, wow, after all what you just did, And get a Exhaust kit, that makes your exhaust full dual, That will absolutely "wake up" your 370z and you'll gain every bit of 15 to 20 HP.. And put in a Intake kit from K&N, and you will be rocking some serious upgrades, as well as a nice little gain in HP, but how ever your fuel economy will plunge..But you'll be loud and way more awesome as far as HP gains.....
