I agree. Mom is the antagonist. Who lets their ex stay for that long, not try to help the kids adjust to their new dad, not side with their husband and with the ex in front of him, and pretty much do everything she can to make her new husband insecure, unsure, and eventually just go nuts.
And yet, it's somehow Brads fault.
And in the end, she ditches the FIRST dads for an even beefier one!! Shame on her!
It's films like this, that create the MGTOW movement, ladies!!
And then she kicks the ex out when she doesn’t need him anymore.
With the kids around it would be difficult to take any side… but more difficult to not take the dads side
makes you think shes probs 50% the reason the divorce happened in the first place

No you don’t. Depending on the airline, country, & the circumstances (child flying alone, greeting a handicap friend/family member, military deployments, etc) they give a pass to go to the gate. They take your id & put your info into the computer & print out a gate pass. I’ve had them several times in the past.

I watched movie and didn’t like how the kids acted to the stepdad. I have a stepdad, sure I wasn’t happy that there this new guy in my life and that my family was split. But I wasn’t wishing for his death or even saying rude shit at him. You kind of just treat him like a stranger when you first meet him, you don’t treat him instantly like a villain
It's nice that things worked out that way for you. But there are a lot of reasons they could at that way, beyond how bad this movie is. It's not weird for kids to hold out hope that their parents will get back together and get angry at the idea of someone new coming in who lowers the chance of that.
Or feeling like their parent who got married to someone else is betraying their other parent.
Denial of the situation, or a failure to grasp the nuance is not weird in kids OR adults.

The best part was the “Family Dinner” sequence from an SNL sketch.
I think this would've benefited if Ferrell didn't play Brad as such a meek cornball. Maybe seemed like that on the outside and due to some of his mannerisms, but inside, he's very patient and calculating. He knows the kids will prefer Dusty to him, but also knows he's the one who pays the bills. Like Walter White without the drugs or Kevin Spacey. Like the kids think they want Dusty, but when things get tough, Dusty leaves, since he's still an overall deadbeat, but Brad is there to pick up the pieces.
Like one of the kids suffers a tragedy of some sort like an injury or something emotional. Dusty doesn't know how to handle it, but Brad comes in and fixes it.
