1970 CADILLAC DeVILLE CONVERTIBLE TILT & TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN Supplemental Ancillaries Test

    I am a serious collector of vintage Cadillac Eldorados and personally have seven (7) in my collection. Due to the absence of commercially available solutions I began restoration of critical components for my own classic car collection that evolved into me assisting other collectors with valuable restored items while at the same time making new Cadillac friends all over the world.
    In this 4th supplemental video I am presenting the testing of the Auxiliary Power Feature, the Horn Electrical Continuity, and the Buzzer Activation Feature via Ignition Key Insertion. This testing is being performed on the Final Assembly of the Fully Restored 1969-70 Cadillac DeVille Tilt & Telescopic Steering Column, that has undergone a Comprehensive Level 10 Restoration for my friend Jimmy in California. All of the components have been disassembled down to the final screw - cleaned climatized with a surface treatment, lubricated and any/all worn or broken pieces replaced and all the bearing sets serviced as well as the servicing and calibration of the half-round spheres that facilitate the Tilting function as well as the infinite movement telescopic neck. The 5 Degrees of Freedom for the Tilt are shown in all 5 positions and the Infinite freedom of the Telescopic Neck is demonstrated in this final functional validation testing of the fully assembled embodiment. All the electricals are further tested in the 3rd video including the Signaling - Cornering - Hazards - Brakes - Horn and the Tilt and Telescopic articulation.
    This is the 4th video in a 3+1 video set whereby the 3rd video depicts the fully assembled embodiment that is being functionally validated both mechanically and electrically. In the predecessor videos the components comprising the assembly are in bench break-down depiction laid-out on my bench in advance of final assembly.
    The 1969-70 CADILLAC DeVILLE TILT & TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN was designed with the INTERNAL HEAD HOUSING comprising an inseparable Kinematic mechanism utilizing a very delicate cast potmetal Rack Gear that is often fractured due to a worn plastic sector gear, as was the case in this restoration. The Plastic Sector Gear as activated by the Ignition Switch Key Lock Cylinder actuates the Lock Pin for Constraining the Rotation of the Steering Wheel as part of the GM Engineered Self-Locking Anti-Theft Feature. 1969 is the first year Introduction from Saginaw Steering Gear of the embedded Ignition within the Steering Column whereas 1968 was the final year for the ignition key lock switch being in the instrument cluster (dash).
    I provide SHOW QUALITY RESTORATION of the Original Vintage GM Cadillac Steering Columns from 1959-1978 including the Tilt & Telescopic Variant with specific expertise in the 1967-1968 T&T column having the very problematic turn-signal lever cancellation problem and the 1969-1978 T&T column with the rack gear sector gear lock pin mechanism and the embedded Ignition Switch Key Lock Cylinder.
    I also restore the GM Cadillac Original Vintage Steering Wheels with the WoodGrain InLay on the front face perimeter from 1969 through 1978 including the one (1) year only specialty 1969 Rim-Blow steering wheel that is actuated by squeezing the inside perimeter of the steering wheel ring having the embedded Rim-Blow Horn Switch as opposed to the conventional Horn Pad design. I reproduce my own Rim-Blow Horn Switch just as I reproduce the WoodGrain InLay in order to provide this difficult and elegant restoration to "Serious Classic Cadillac Collectors"
    I also restore the GM Cadillac Original Vintage Steering Wheels from 1967 through 1968 having the (2) two year only 682 Grip-lines specialty design on the front face of the steering wheel ring perimeter as well as the 1959 through 1966 (2) two tone colorized steering wheels with the chrome accent pieces and the 200 Grip Line specialty design on the front face of the steering wheel ring perimeter.
    I also provide comprehensive SHOW QUALITY RESTORATION of all the GM Cadillac Power Motion ACTUATION SEAT MECHANISM ASSEMBLIES from 1959-1978 ,.. including the 4-Way Bucket Seat Variant - the 2-Way Bucket Seat Variant and the 6-Way Power Seat mechanism for the Strato-Bench Seat.
    I also provide a comprehensive complete CLOCK restoration of the vintage timing movements for the solid state period clock movements. The original vintage Power Door Lock Actuator/Activator Solenoids, Power Window Switches, Power Actuation Mechanisms for the Bucket Seats and the Strato-Bench Seat and Standard Seating.
    I restore the entire range of GM Cadillac Original Vintage Power Antennas from 1959 through 1978 including the specialty four (4) year only Limiting Switch Based Antenna specific to 1973-1976.
