Hi Tony, Firstly a really good and very enjoyable demo from you "Well done"
I have (yesterday) removed the carb in my Honda EX650 After watching another video and it was not as good as yours in as much it did not say anything ref the very small "spring operated" insert and again nothing about using a screw driver to hold the machine while the work was done replacing and setting the govener or how to set it .
Hence the machine after cleaning wont start, "But i know now how to clean that spring operated jet and tomorrow i'll do the job a lot easier and quicker, than you Tony.

@sgtish Hi, Off load speed is always a little higher so that when you load to continuous rating it should rest at 58/60Hz as a rule set at 63Hz offload but if the voltage is too high turn down slightly. this will all be dependent on engine performance/power. decoke and check the exhaust is not blocked.
For those with EX650 running at 50Hz the offload speed is 52.5Hz

Hi! Can you advise me? Today I assembled the Honda EX 650 generator after cleaning. It didn't work for many years because they poured gasoline and oil into it. It's actually new. Now it starts for the first time, but after I pull down the choke, the engine doesn't keep idling, but it still adds and subtracts. Under the string, the running is smooth. Don't know what it could be? well thank you

I enjoyed the videos, all three. I rebuilt the carb. Now, I’m getting fuel coming out of the overflow line, fuel will come out of the carburetor bowl when I back out the screw. Generator will not start. Any suggestions I may try to trouble shoot. The plug does spark. Thanks in advance.

I just bought one of these used. And runs great but..... I think I have been had. When I bought it the guy plugged a drill it to it and the drill ran fine. So I bought it, When I got it home I wanted to give it a little test so I went a grabbed a box fan and plugged it in. Something didn't seem right. On low the fan seemed to be over spinning like it was on the high settig. So I unplugged the fan and went and got my volt meter. When I restarted and plugged the volt meter into the outlet my guess was right the fan was going twice as fast because I am getting 280 vac out of the outlet. where do I start with trouble shooting this? Thanks for your help.......if you can

Governor arm shaft turn clock wise or anti clock wise

I just cleaned my carb on my brand new to me but free generator. Did not know about the governor part but the idle sounds ok and will power some high draw power tools (one at a time of course) but I noticed that the engine slows under load with frequency holding at 60 hz. Is this normal or should I check the governor arm connection? I kinda like that the engine slows cause it is actually a bit quieter but I don't want to break anything.

I just bought one and the guy said all it needed was a new pull cord... I replaced it and it would not start I replaced the spark plug wouldn't start I cleaned the carb still won't start... only way it started was to pull the spark plug and dump some fuel in it the cylinder...then it starts momentarily then dies...now I don't know what to do

Fuel blockage or poor compression. what is the compression like? Have you had the carb off to look at its condition inside?
