Keep im mind that he was born at the end of 1955, putting him at 35 here, not 37 and keep in mind that only 5 years earlier, he looked about 25 years younger than he did here.
I think at some point his cocaine use may have gone past the point of no return mentally. I also suspect some health problem like maybe parkinsons might have emerged. I know he did not deal with losing his hair well. Whatever the turning point, this was the pivoting time period we started to lose the more lucid Dave we knew before. Its always bummed me out. He looked really bad here and you can see somethings wrong. Had lost weight too.
@johncopey Dude he just lived the hard living rock and roll life....that's what aged him. And the hair is just your typical receding hairline at the temples. I've had it since my 20's.
what a great interview. this guy is an open book, front middle and back. he gives everything an intgerviewer could want and a lot of what they didn t know theyd get. the truth thru the eyes of Dave.
DLR looks, sounds and is a star,..... none better! but if you like, please feel free to try to be, we would all like to see that entertainment ( imagine how much fun that would be .... as some poor fool actually considers it). oh we can only hope!
u guys a crasy ,every1 changes every year AND I BET U GUYS LOOK WORSE, & hes in great shape ,has masterd martial arts CAN KICK YOUR ASSES AND your old lady would still go down on him when YOUR NOT LOOKING
I notice everyone below is now a certified psychologist. It's strikingly weird that the first thing people, (trolls, sheep, whatever) like to do, is analyse the person, their clothes, personality, sense of humor, everything, the second they're done watching, like anybody actually gives a fuck what this backward, upside-down, moronic, x-factor-loving generation has to say. Dave... Dave was different, and different is better than normal. Case closed.
As attractive as he was at one time, he is still remains a victim of his own marketing and image, (and he is the master of marketing and self promotion) which he has taken from old time vaudeville and I never get the impression that you could believe anything he says and he repeats the same quips 20 years later. Master of fake sincerety at it's best. Really he looks sad and defeated in these interviews.
A lot of stuff from this time period, I think he looked and was very depressed. He started singing in the lower register & slower songs too, so I think his voice must have started having problems then also. I think his voice, hair, looks, and performance wear & tear on his body all clobbered him at once. I think he dove into substance abuse even deeper than ever to deal with it, and that made it all 10xs worse. Plus he probably began to experience that he was driving everyone who worked with him away. I would have liked to see him have a happier life than that. Hes so smart & interested in so many things. Just doesnt want to or cant drop the facade and be vulnerable and genuine. When he toured with Sammy, he missed a golden opportunity to create a bond and an ally. The cheese stands alone : (
When David Lee Roth speaks, it's always worth a listen.
Very uplifting! Awesome dude!
Diamond Dave is the man.
That was a very professional, well-prepared interviewer, also!
He's very charismatic!

Yeah he aged badly in the 7 years from 1984 to this. Maybe a bit of sun damage also.
Much music man. Born in 1991..I grew up on this stuff in Canada. Best thing for a huge lover of music.
What a great interview 👍🏻
The BEST entertainer EVER!
Diamond Dave. Saw VH in 79, best concert I ever saw.
Jason as a player deserved his time in the spotlight. Life cheated him. I’m sorry, Jason. This ALAE record was awesome at the time. You did wel, bud.

Give a little credit to the guy interviewing Dave. GREAT interview!!! What's his name if anyone out there knows??
Michael Williams , he went on as a Radio host, producer, writer etc. in Montreal
genius, cool ass dude
"Let's go get something to eat." Can I come with you guys? Lol
Today's Dave is guilty of having the album recording of his high vocals play over his live vocals (if you can even call them vocals anymore).
Can someone say Spicoli? Love him!
@paisleyization Well the come over was in full spin mode!
what a great interview. this guy is an open book, front middle and back. he gives everything an intgerviewer could want and a lot of what they didn t know theyd get. the truth thru the eyes of Dave.
Very sensitive Boy...

@ElZappata He's always in full spin mode, he's a performer....never the truth spoken in one interview.
u guys a crasy ,every1 changes every year
AND I BET U GUYS LOOK WORSE, &
hes in great shape ,has masterd martial arts
CAN KICK YOUR ASSES AND
your old lady would still go down on him when
YOUR NOT LOOKING
And Dave used tape recorded vocals on stage on last tour. Not knocking it but …
Has DLR ever mentioned Jason Becker? Has he shown any support toward ALS? I haven't seen it
he never showed any support to Jason when he was diagnosed unfortunatley, but this is the first time I have heard him say Jason's name.
Jason has stated that Dave has helped him alot but keeps it private

Two words dude: Fucking right! Dave is the toastmaster General of the immoral majority!
Oh Come on David How Much Coke?...lets get real............
Quit going to concerts because of all the tracks!!!
Whoops, Dave flamed-out at the end there.
Even the poor video quality wasn't enough to hide those massive pupils😂
