Looks great! Might wanna give people some warnings about that armor etch though. Dont get it on your skin and dont breathe the fumes in.

Eric - question - I am attempting to wire the Profile PIVOT strips with the included Drivers - I have three wires. One will go to the turn signal wire positive to on/off the amber - the other is the ground - the final wire is a Red positive - Should I wire to parking light? This seems like the ONLY way to do it unless I want to opt for a separate relay harness that diode dynamics sells - that harness goes directly to the battery....
In a PERFECT WORLD: I would like them to be ON 100% of the time the car is running - regardless of time of day - headlights on/off/ etc... I'm still lost/confused on how to do this but I'm thinking the best option is the harness that diode dynamics sells.
Thoughts? I have the lights apart now... any moral support welcome as this is my 2nd retro - and these lights are a nightmare to deal with - easy once apart, but a lot more involved than anticipated.
BTW: For something different - I am going to ATTEMPT ( key word ) to mount them horizontally in the front... I also got the black housings for them - so there will be a brightness penalty but they won't look like a white strip JUMPING out during the day - if you're interested - those are called the "Profile Superstrips" basically a glorified hollow tube that's semi translucent.. again...output penalty but arguably looks more cohesive during the daytime.
ALSO: I wrote to morimoto asking them if they could ever produce a hybrid between their $1500 replacement headlights and the OEM... Wish in one hand an s h i t in the other - I know - but - I think most Z owners want that single OEM light - but would like the vertical switchback strip - and a SINGLE NHK or Morimoto LED > the stacked 3 LED's - which - arguably do not flow well with the car at all...

      Hey man, excellent question!
To make the Pivot strips on 100% of the time, run the power wires and tap them in any accessory switched 12v so you don't have to worry about a physical switch to turn on/off with a relay harness. Still, you'll have to run a pretty long wire from the front to the inside (or if you can find a fuse next to the battery).
I get you with this process. It took me days to fix issues midway regardless of me plotting the theoretical wiring and mounting.
I've also considered mounting them horizontally (Supra MK5 as my inspiration). You'll need a foolproof mounting solution to make sure it survives in that position because double sided tape wouldn't be enough or even JB Weld.
I'll definitely consider the Superstrips in a different project in the future! Thanks for sharing that!
Good luck and feel free to comment here or message me on my Instagram!

@@ItsEricVenzon Yeah gonna roll the dice and try to use double sided 3m - they will be smashed against the clear cover - mine will be thicker as I'm using their blacked out covers... hopefully no regrets - I don't see myself drilling a million holes for fishing line per the instructions - that seems insane and "what if" you want to change it up later?
In terms of wiring - here's what I've decided - I'll simply put a single hole out the back through that one lower grommet - this way - I can move wiring around as needed - and will give me something to start with - leds on/workin through parking light - then - I'll rewire them through firewall to fuse box per your suggestion at a later date...
BTW: I went with the morimoto d2s 5.0 projectors - they bolted right in with the $70 brackets- but - one side was off - not a big deal, but it seems like the left vs. right sides are not identical - just a heads up - hoping for better cut off - will see.

@@ItsEricVenzon Eric - one other question - spray paint outgassing - How long did you let yours sit before resealing? I'm hoping 24 hours will work - I let them sit in the sun for 4 hours earlier today... absolutely would like to avoid outgassing haze in the future. Used Krylon "fusion" - satin black over chrome section - and their hard to find gunmetal "fusion" over the bezels - ( nasty stuff when you're spraying you want to avoid breathing in! )...

@@07wrxtr1Yeah you can gamble with double sided 3M tape. You can get away with drilling only 4-8 holes for a fishing line as a fallback.
As long as you're set with it being on only at night is a pretty safe solution now.
