Originally the Titans were inspired heavily by BoTW's Divine Beasts, and we are actually getting something nearly identical, as they intended. This "new" story is the original intended plot for the game they couldn't finish in time with some new stuff added onto it.

I was thinking about this a while ago. Sonic Origins recently showed off Super Amy for the first time, and I was thinking that maybe Tails, Knuckles and Amy would be able to fight the Titans in Sonic Frontiers too. With their own unique abilities and all that.
@@Slimeonian yeah like Super Tails: his gameplay would be based in using his chaos powers in smart and tricky ways and outrunning the boss
Super Knuckles: mostly the same gameplay as Super Sonic but he will be using his own punches and kicks and does more damage since he's stronger than Sonic
Super Amy: her gameplay will have Amy actually throwing hands and her hammer should be more powerful and using her chaos powers on a whole new style
When update 3 drops, I hope all the new changes are in a separate story mode because as much as these changes are cool, I like the old frontiers aswell, and I wouldn't really like if they just completely got rid of the old frontiers
It could be an alternative ending mode or something
Thats probably where new game+ comes in. They might leave the normal game for the story we got on release and probably have new game+ be where we get to play the new and improved story

I am very hype for update 3 much more than superstars because it will be the best sonic game in history
Honestly, everything and update 3 sounds like a love letter to us Adventure Era fans: tails, knuckles, and Amy are finally playable again, and contribute to the main story 💗
Plus we get more time with Sonic and Sage working together, which is a big win my book 📖
Coming out in September actually makes good sense with Superstars believed to be coming out in October. They usually give a month between releases like this and they wouldn't want them to cannibalize each other. Otherwise November is also a good bet, since that would make the anniversary of Frontier's launch.
Yeah, the game has already got tough enough competition that week, not just with Super Mario Bros Wonder, but also Spider-Man 2.
Fun fact: In Tails' animation files, you can find running animations similar to Sonic's (running with arms back), which he has (afaik) never done before

I hope that you'll be able to play through the game as Amy, Knuckles, and Tails like the mode in some Kirby games where you play through the game as meta knight.
This seems unlikely, but it would also be cool to experience what tails, knuckles, and amy went through when they were trapped in cyberspace.

Ah, Sonic Forces. Sure they were called Wispons, but they're still obviously guns.
I hope it feels like the island has more things to do instead of feeling like a whole different thing. I wouldn't mind some drastic visual changes hereand there tho.
And really I hope they think about Rhea. It's a nice island and it would be great if it had some enemies lying there, maybe some beta designs.
I’m glad that Sonic Frontiers is getting the No Man’s Sky treatment! It shows that the developers really do care about this game
I just hope the timer for battle rush will be fixed sick of the timer keeps on going during the boss intro cutscenes.
I also hope they even add a option to fight just the titans and scaled them to your current level.

If you want that to happen then sega need to reduce the result timer because the additional time is for like QTE or boss intros that the times still continues

Honestly Frontiers could have been a great excuse to make use of the Super Emeralds. Hear me out: Sonics cyber corruptions would put him in the same limbo as it did his friends but with more nightmarish images of the past like Shadow falling to earth in SA2 and stuff. Like a PTSD kick. And the corruption already showed itself to even affect base SS sonic. So the crew can gather the emeralds and try breaking Sonic free but the emeralds refuse to power him up. Then Knuckles remembers that he came to Starfall Islands via a portal on Angel Island. Boom. Master emerald + chaos emeralds = Super Emeralds = Hyper Sonic.
On a side note: I can see Ouranos actually being an extended part of Angel Island thats separated.
I hope there is gonna be multiplayer coming for update 3
im guessing it will release on november 8th on sonic frontiers' first anniversary.
Here's what I hope they do for Update 3:
1) Add more characters to later Islands that need rescued (E.G Cream the Rabbit, Blaze, Silver and etc.)
2) Make the Token gathering more manageable and less grindy.
3) Improve the bosses, such as adding original bosses for the third and the fifth/final Island, and also improving the final bosses.
4) Add more boss fights.
Edit: Here's also other stuff that I hope they do.
5) In addition to adding more characters to later Island that need rescued as to somewhat expand the game, also give them their own cut-scenes and story.
6) Have the option to refight the Titan Bosses.
7) Make a proper fourth Island, give it its own original bosses, character that needs saving, give it its own story and give it its own Titan Boss fight after gathering all of the Chaos Emeralds.
8) Give ALL the Guarding Bosses their own Health Bar like the Titan Bosses.
Im actually fine with sonic in ouranos man I will miss sonic touching some more grass😢
5:58 I just wish New Game Plus was customizable. I don't want the full skill tree unlocked and stats maxed out from the very start; I just want the Spindash from the start instead of only being unlockable at the very end.
I wish new game plus had made the enemies stronger or something without playing on extreme mode.

Sonic Team has already started doing something on Steam. The files were changed on August 8th and today.
Dunno why people are surprised Tails has a gun for combat after he used a mech in SA2, threw bombs in Sonic 06 and in his own old game, shot lasers at the Deadly Six with an arm blaster, and used a gun and multiple tech weapons in the second Sonic film. 🤷 Not to mention the Wisp guns from Sonic Forces lol

The game only became a 7 for me because of the way it ended. Fix the ending and it’s getting a 9 from me
1) tails, knuckles and amy playable with new move sets
2) ouranous will be updated and overhauled
3) supreme and the end will be remade
My switch is going to explode after this. also if ournaous island gets changed that would effect the speed run route and probly how much of it you have completed matter of fact how would you even get the spin dash ( could've swore i Put spin dash the first time)
I'd Tails fight with his tails instead of some random gizmo he just happened to bring along this adventure. Yes, he's smart and techy, but in gameplay his gadgets have never been consistent, and this just adds to that.
If Tails has to incorporate tech into his move pool, why an arm cannon specifically? It doesn't compliment his pre-established abilities. What if he had techy orbitars/sentries/I don't know what they're called as a defensive thingy?
It would be cool if he had that tails swipe move from adventure 1.

my theory is tails, knuckles and amy will explore ouranous battling guardians and entering cyberspace to take away sonic's corruption they will end up fighting every guardian (except the titans) and will have new puzzles to do
then when everything is done sonic will be cured and he will go and fight the new revamped final boss

1:40 Actually, the last time was Forces.
2:12 Tbh, I still call nonsense on that. When playing it, I was positively surprised by how it had seemingly the highest content-density, plus the most fun cyberspace, plus the only guardian is not 1:1 copypaste(Ghost). Though yeah, that last part is kind of an issue that plagues the entire game, which the island also exposed. Guardians very much go the route of the Zelda BOTW-comparison where there is a lot of them, but not enough diffrences between them. That is not even something we can expect the update to fix(neither that we lost the 4th island to the deadline), that's just something a sequel will have to learn from.
2:56 This is where I start to be scared a bit. Yeah, it changes. Maybe it will be cooler too. But that does not 100% mean that it will be better on a practical level. I just get bad memories from Mania where Metal Sonic's silly spikewall got replaced with something that outwardly is a neat Chaotix-reference, but is mega jank in practice and sent me into the bottomless pit behind it way too often for no real reason.
3:53 Tbh, I actually expect to dislike any changes to this because I have basically completely opposite wishes of most of the community and this would be done partially on community feedback(for the record, I did not look at anything leaked, so I have no idea). Supreme is a cool idea as a combination of attributes from all other Titans(which many already disagree with), but it really needs a shield and more focus on the gun(which the unused QTE-stuff seems like a good startingpoint). Many people want the second phase(funni ikaruga) removed entirely(I think it is entirely fine, it fits the mood) and some people want a third phase/big space fight to be some crazy megamix with all titans(Which were destroyed and do not respawn, so...er...yeah. Just make the tutorial-mention of "titans" singular instead?), even tho all I personally need is Sonic Unleashed meets SA2.

4:28 I kinda don't like the concept of this. There is at least in my mind no way they were designing a second version of ALL bosses when they were doing all that other stuff too, so this realistically sounds less like it would be an improvement and more like "hey, we put the Megaman-style issue of a pointless bossrush into the game". I actually may want to set up a backup of Frontiers on emulator in case I need to version downgrade, since the Switch is certainly not caring about my potential wish to go back in case this update does not impress me at all.

I really enjoyed what I played so far but I wanted more performance adjustments for the Steam Deck and Switch. The pop in is bad but you kinda get used to it, but the LOD is very distracting. I think the geometry needs a bit of rework to diminish this issue.
Boy do I hope all this is true. I absolutely loved Fronteirs. I platinum the game and still replaying it. Just running around a large map as sonic is fun.
In my opinion, i think this update will release on either November or December. And if leaks and all this is true, i think Frontiers will need a re-review as a whole.

My theory is that there will be options on the those 2 asset so the old version and the update 3 version, the update 3 version will start new obviously and then it continues, the old version progression stays and does not get scrapped out

This just just me, but I hope with The End if they do keep the (Moon Entity) faze in the game after you defeat that something small and more menacing comes out the thing. Kinda sorta how BUU spawned in DBZ. Then it would be a fight of a smaller scale kind of. Like instead of fighting a huge titan it would be something around sonics size but hella strong.
I always thought of the same thing, these final bosses are my favorite, Its Your size, But packs a powerful as hell punch

I just want them to do some interesting stuff with it appearing as the observer's perception of death. Like, you go through the moon phase with Sonic and Sage together, but then you switch to playing as Sonic on his own and then there's no fanfare, no nothing, just the camera cutting away from The End and, when it cuts back, it looks like Mephiles (the one person to ever outright _kill_ Sonic) or something. Or you switch to _Sage_ on her own and The End appears as a distorted version of Sonic (the idea being that, as a loyal creation of Eggman, she sees death as a version of Sonic that is willing to actually unalive the doctor). There's a lot of cool things they could do with that whole gimmick about it.

I dont agree. The ending was fine in my opinion. I got similar vibes to Nier Automata's ending. Which also had a bullet hell ending.
The only issue i had with The End was that it was a rock. I feel like after shooting it down halfway it should "crack open" and reveal a being of darkness, like the Eldritch horrors we're used to.
I mean, I get the whole point with it looking like the moon, but my hopes are, we get different forms for it as we play as different characters by themselves, each showing _their_ image of death. Like, if the other characters get to fight it, I could imagine The End looking somewhat like Infinite for Tails, or Perfect Chaos for Knuckles. I dunno about Amy, but for Sonic himself, people _already_ think he saw The End as Mephiles due to being the one character to actually kill him, and I think that could be a really cool mirror-type boss against a similar-sized enemy _as Super Sonic_ (or whatever new form they cook up for Sonic).
Cuz my idea was, the only reason its appearance was based on "our" representation of death based on religious/mythological things is because we were controlling both Sonic _and_ Sage, and it can't appear as multiple people's perspectives simultaneously.

While the updates sound cool, I just wish they fix some of the animations, espescially for the Fortress guardian.

I am on extreme mode I 100% the game on that mode. You should play it if you have a lot of experience
