- Dad was worried about Danielle swimming alone and she was worried about him walking in the sun. Unfortunately dad thought Danielle was upset with him for staring at her (in a bikini) and this was our full conversation.
God bless Dr. Salinger🙏🏾. Even with memory loss and the fact he had removal of cancer cells from his face, he’s more concerned with Danielle and ensuring her safety in the water than he is with himself. What a sweet, loving man💙.
So true 💯💯💯🤗🤗🤗
So sweet 🥹
Grandpa is the best❤️
IF something should have happened, I think he would have jumped in right after her.
@@michaelhungate7506he probably would have
He is always concerned about others. His natural instinct ,even with dementia, is to protect and make sure his kids and everyone are doing well.
I don’t think he has much influence over his grand children we will see
Dad's not wrong, he is such a caring individual. I laughed when he said he wasn't out there to look at her body! 😂😂
😂😂😂
Omg😂that part cracked me up!
@@peytonpendleton2343, he's such a character!
😂😂😂
😂😂 me too so hilarious 😆
Dad still got enough smarts to change the subject with the cat. I love your dad. God bless you Dad.
Saw that too loved it!!❤😂😂
Yes, he seemed really lucid here to me!
He redirected Dan 😂🙈
Grandpa says that he wasn’t out there looking at her body, he was out there for her safety. Good looking out Grandpa ❤❤
It's his story and he can tell it anyway he wants to. 👍👍
He is so pure of heart. What a kind man. ❤
❤❤❤
Your Dad blows my mind away with his kindness and mannerism . He’s the best to watch on CZcams . Thank you so much for sharing his life journey with all. We love him to bits ❤️❤️❤️
Grandpa Ed always seems to have the best interest at heart. He definitely makes all of us watching feel better! You and your dad are awesome and thank you for letting us into your lives!
The love this man has for his family makes cry happy tears ❤. He thinks of Danielle as a daughter not a daughter-in-law. You and your family Dan are so lucky to have this kind of love. I feel like this was past down to you to Dan. I love how yall love your pets also. ❤❤❤❤❤
Ed knows the golden rule, never swim alone.
No matter what Dan says, dad says he sticking to his "safety factor" no swimming alone❤
🤣🤣🤣 that's right.
❤❤🤣🤣🤣👍👍
😂😂
Dan get up and watch Danielle!!lol dad says it's unsafe!! His right.
I love the way he can reason thru all situations. So caring.❤
He deserves an A for his efforts, which are always for a good reason.
Don’t gas’s light Dad.
Hes not dumb. He knows what he knows and a few minutes in the sun is not the end of the world at 91????
It can be when you have had cancer removed from your face
I love how protective Grandpa is of his family.. so helpful and loving
Once a parent always a parent he is not worried about himself but wants to be sure that the swimmers are safe ❤😊
How you handle your father with lot of respect and regard is great and highly appreciated.
His memory might be shot, but his very essence is in tact and so pure. He is amazing!
He considers Danielle as his daughter or a kid so he just wants to protect! 😊
My mother was just like this. Half the time didn't know where she was but would have someone get her the phone to call me and check on me and my kids. Such pure love and concern. Can't help but love your dad. And the cat for making his day.
They say patience is a virtue. Dan you definitely have that virtue.
Ed is such a loving father.
Just wants all to know he cares about everyone’s safety.
Grandpa is so sweet. And over protective. Dan said "you hv to sit in the shade." Grandpa"okay where is it?" Dan "you were in it but you kept getting up." 😂
I think you, your wife and your family are all amazing with your dad. The fact he cares about you all and your safety shows how loved and secure he feels with you all. ❤️
❤
Bless Ed so concerned about Danielle loves his kids ❤
Your dad has much wisdom. People should not swim alone. It happens very fast and it can’t be reversed once it’s happened
Yes!
Just imagine if we all had some semblance of a Dr Ed Salinger as a Father!....What a Wonderful World 🌍✌🏿🙏🏿
Dan & Danielle your level of patience has augmented as the year goes on. What you both & Mark do for your dad is awesome. Grandpa Ed is a gem. I love the way the animals fuss over him. ❤
Get Mr Ed a guard stand, umbrella and a guard tube. I love that he is still cognizant of the danger involved in swimming alone ❤
He absolutely loves his family beyond a shadow of a doubt
Ed is a sensitive, kind soul.
He deserves to be treated that way..
Not angry, sarcastic mode.
I agree. I’m not sure, but maybe that’s just the sons voice/personality. I think he has dads best interest at heart. He has to talk loud and clear so dad can hear him. Dads very hard of hearing. ❤️❤️❤️
His son, Dan also seems kind and patient. But I can not say this for his daughter-in- law. She seems angry mostly when she talks to Ed.
Sure, I am just a viewer and I can guess to live with dementia is hard. But, Ed deserves to be treated more sensitive way. Because, as a viewer, we love his sensitive soul.
@@malcolm5442he's being 1:56 weird watching her swim dont blame her for telling him to go away
I think Ed was a cold hard ass before he got dementia 😅 not mean, or evil, but a hard ass.. and now that he has the dementia he became softer. But they do take care of each other, the whole family, and I like this channel because of that.
@@Reikinurse19 I did not detect any harash tone. That's the way Dan speaks. They are all patient and kind to Dad. I have looked at most all the videos including those if Danielle's.
Love how much Ed cares for the family. ❤ Once you’ve saved a drowning child I’m sure it’s ingrained into your mind forever that pool rules are meant to be followed.
It’s cute that he thought that she thought he was looking at her body and that’s why she wanted him to move away from the pool, when Danielle was simply worried about Ed’s skin being in the sun too long. ❤️😉😎 🏊♀️
His thought was funny tho 😂😂😂😂
My son has epilepsy so of course he can’t swim alone and that has just changed my mind to anyone swimming alone because you really don’t know what could happen
@@lindareeves7779 yes, I think it’s a wonderful rule that Ed implemented in his family, “Don’t swim alone”
I just want to hug him. ❤ Dan, you are incredible with your dad.
Grandpa just wants to be at ease knowing his family is safe and are ok ! His concerns for his family just shows before and after dementia that he loves his family . He’s more worried about his family and not himself. You just have to live this genuine loving soul ! ❤
They both care each other like a real father and daughter!!! Hats off to both!!!
Grandpa is loving and caring by nature. Grandpa wear a hat next time you’re outside.
Warms my heart that grandpa is looking out for Danielle’s welfare…. God Bless Grandpa Ed 🥰♥️
❤
Grampa is amazingly caring and loving!! I love this precious human so much!! 💕🤗💕
Awwww the man still has a great mind to analyze mindfulness of others. He literally went through scenarios of why everything was happening. Smart man.
Grandpa is just such a kind man, he listens contemplates and thinks before he responds. Rare these days
An employee of mine and myself learned we both watch your videos today.
We work at a restaurant where we serve mostly retired customers, many who come in daily or multiple times a week. We regularly talk about watching the regulars age and many are dealing with dementia.
I talked about how much your videos have impacted me and he said he watches you too. Daily. Just like me.
Social media can really connect people and bring them together when used with purpose. Y'all are doing a great job doing that. ❤❤
He's such a caring man, especially for his family and their safety, he doesn't think about his own safety over theirs.❤
May the good Lord bless this sweet sweet man... what a sweet gentleman, kind & caring father ..
& taw, what a cute kitty! I so miss having a kitten,, my problem is that they grow up into aholes :)
Haven't seen the pig lately?
What a loving family. Your dad is a lovely gentleman and you are all SO patient in explaining things over and over again and you never show irritation in having to repeat yourselves’. If only all families were like your family. A decent upbringing goes a long way.
And the adorable kitten puts an end to it😍
Even the kitty's helping calm Grandpa down🥰
What a sweetheart he is Dan! ❤
Can't you make a shadow for him there, closser to the pool? Then everyone wins... Warm greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
It is so sweet that Grandpa is so protective of Danielle! Such a kind man.
Love you Danielle, Grandpa and Dan
🙂
Bless this darling dad ❤ he's so v selfless and protective over his family.
It's hard to believe he has dementia, watch the way he follows a conversation & converses with his son , such wisdom & intellect. I wish I could fly all the way from the UK 🇬🇧 give him a hug and tell him how special he and his family are. I'm tearing 😢 up as I write this. Such an inspirational family. ❤❤❤
It's gotta be tough for Ed to get comfortable with it being your house and your rules when he's struggling with memory and feels like he's just living life the same as he always did and supervised swimming seems like was a rule he always had since the little neighbor boy. You all are so patient with him and I love to see how you just calmly repeat as needed and reassure him that it's because you all love him and are concerned about his well-being and health. Sweet to see grown children honor and respect their elderly parents. Thank you for sharing these vulnerable moments with us and helping us all understand what it's like both caregiving for someone with dementia and having dementia. Your videos do a lot of good. 💙
❤❤❤❤❤❤
When do they calmly repeat? They sound annoyed to me every single time especially Danielle…
Grandpa Ed has significant hearing loss, so repeating something louder is sometimes required. Louder isn’t meaner. When my dad didn’t have his hearing aids in, it would be really frustrating because you would have to repeat yourself several times. I know that on the second or third time repeating something, what I said often became truncated and much louder. It could be frustrating, and my dad did not have dementia! I think that the family exercises incredible patience and love when communicating with Ed. With my dad, my level of patience definitely improved over time. My dad passed from leukemia, and I wish I still had to repeat myself to my dad. My son once asked his Pop for a toothpick, and my dad’s response was “you want pizza?” We would laugh about it, because he was so ready to get his grandson pizza (and we still don’t know how he heard “pizza” instead of the word toothpick). The most frustrating part for me was that he had these super high tech expensive hearing aids that would profoundly improve his hearing to near perfect, but he would routinely just not put them in.
Bless his heart,he doesn't want anything to happen to Danielle ❤❤ He really loves her just like he does Dan!❤❤
He’s always concerned about his family❤❤
Dan, I think you got out-lawyered on this one😊. The "Safety factor" argument will win every time. Dad is looking out for his family ❤
I just stumbled on this channel. What an absolutely endearing man. Such concern and love for his family is heartwarming. I just love Grandpa Ed. He has a caring heart.🌻🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🧡
Pops is a priceless gem. He wanted to make sure a precious member of his family, was safe at the cost of his own safety. That is the ultimate act of love, bless his selfless heart. Such a caring sweetheart ❤ UK.
Oh my God...just when you think you couldn't love grandpa more ....along comes another video. Fantastic man with a fantastic family.
Dad has a heart of gold! Omg when kitty came in…she reduced the men to babbles and smiles! What isn’t there to love about this video❤
what a man. a mighty mighty good man thanks for keeping him healthy
His heart is in the right place. He doesn't realize that he couldn't save her even if she did have a problem. Bless his little heart!!!
OMG! I adore this man so much. Dad is the kindest, sweetest man ever. ❤️🙏🏽😊
I just discovered your precious Poppa a week ago or so. I enjoy watching. I love his "pardon me". I love your patience and your caring way with him. May God bless you and your family!
He’s such a caring person. ❤
Ed wants it to be known that he is no perv...😂
Ed is absolutely no perv ! He is such a pure soul ❤❤
OMG Grandpa just broke my heart when he said the kitty is the only one that likes him around there! Danielle is like his bestie and he just cant remember that she only had good intentions for him just like he had good intentions for her. I love your whole family. May God bless all of u!!!
His good nature doesn't change...❤
What an intelligent and caring grandpa. ❤❤❤
Both Danielle and grandpa Ed were being kind to each other..sweet
Unfortunately, though, it can be extremely frustrating and stressful for both sides. Especially in the end, Danielle had to give up on enjoying her swim. It's a pity nobody else wouldn't sit out in the shade with grandpa to keep reassuring him so Danielle could swim in peace. I'm not being mean, just stating the facts that dementia can be extremely stressful for everyone involved. Thank goodness they are able to share with another family member.
@@PecanBaby... yeah.. but what is family for..we don't just share good times..need to stick together in bad tines too.. Ed must have given up many things to raise his 5 kids .. it's part of life.. it's the attitude that matters
A LOT to unpack!! So much love. Your smile at the end says it all. The kitty stole the show....😍
Your dad is a darling and you're doing a great job son😊
When he said he wasn’t interested in her body or anything 😂😂😂 that took me out! Grandpa we know 😅❤ he just wanted her safe. He’s so caring even in old age
Amazing how the rule that one should not ever swim alone is so deeply inculcated in him, he, as the protective man he's been all his life, puts his own safety aside for the sake of Danielle's. Ed may have memory loss, but the manly instinct to be ever-vigilant and protective, has not been lost at all. God bless him and his priceless Salinger Family 🙏
As if grandpa hasn’t had a life full of adventure and the upmost love of his family and the upmost care of his patients, we now find out he saved a little baby’s life!
I'm in love with grampa 💗 he's just concerned
Danielle is so lucky to have all that love from that gorgeous old man , Ed is a gem , he always takes care of all his family members however he is the one who supposed to be taken care of ❤❤❤
Safety first, quite right. A lot of mutual love in this family. If only everyone cared for each other this much. ❤❤❤
This man has an amazingly beautiful soul! The love he has for his family is honorable! God bless you grandpa Ed ✌❤🙏
I commend you and Danielle for caring about your father's exposure to the sun. Your motives are pure, and born of love. However, I feel compelled to agree with your father on this one. He's an excellent life guard, who can call you if Danielle gets in trouble (heart event, severe cramping, etc.). He needs vitamin D from sunshine. Put some #50 Waterbabies on his face, arms and legs, and let him enjoy the important role he fills. You're arguing about something which is a waste of time. Appreciate his concern, and let him enjoy protecting a member of his family. He hasn't got the number of years remaining, it took for him to develop the skin cancers in the first place. Your role now is to do whatever possible to help him feel like a contributing member of the family. This is your golden opportunity to shine.
I do agree with you. Wish we would have seen the conversation with Danielle and dad.
Grandpa so caring and it just touch my heart when I watch this video I enjoy watching all of his video he's always looking for his wallet and he's always caring for others and that is so touching to me may God continue blessing his big heart 🙏
Dr. Ed is fortunate to have you, Mark et al. I must say in the past I have seen moments where Danielle was not as sensitive to Dr. Ed's perspective as she could have under the circumstances. Most often success in communication is in delivery. Wish you all well.
What a kind man, watching Danielle to be safe. Not easy to explain the sun issue after mohs surgery, such a kind man,
He said “I’m not out there tellin her how to swim, what to do, or anything else, I’m just out there incase something could happen” . He’s still so sharp honestly
Awww, I just feel like hugging grandpa! He's so loving n caring
It's amazing at how much he wants to protect his family.
Grandpa really cares for Danielle and vice versa. Kitty cat is so cute!
Such a caring, wonderful person. Maybe if Dan sat out side, grandpa would not worry about his daughter in law.
Grandpa Ed is the sweetest most loving and caring family man. His family's well-being, safety and financial are his constant concern❤❤❤
Dad is always concerned about his family he’s truly the best
Dr Ed is so adorable. He's always concerned for his family. It doesn't matter how confused he gets, he's always worried about them.
The love that grandpa has for family, he even said it on the other video that no one can take his family away from him. Awww I just love watching him.😊😊😊I don’t miss any of both your video’s and Danielle’s😊😊😊😊
I think it’s so cute. That Danielle and Ed are extremely worried for one another. Then Ed, feels bad as if he felt he disrespected Danielle, while trying to protect her, when Danielle was trying to protect him from the sun. This is so wholesome and cute, I chuckled. ❤️😬
Thanks Dan, for clearing up the air about the situation.
Everyone loves how well Dan and Mark take care of grandpa. Good job Dan and Mark
Give Danielle some credit also, she cooks and washes his clothes
He's very funny to when he smiles his personality is great what a great guy
SO SO SO CUTE. I LOVE YOU, ED. DANIELLE'S LUCKY TO HAVE YOU TAKING CARE ❤️
All of this is just so precious. Truly. The kitty. His protective ‘doctor’ nature. Beautiful.
Dad is so concerned and full of love 😘💕
Grandpa Ed is sooo sweet and thoughtful. Can’t get enough of him😂 ❤
Dad is so caring and loving ❤️
I really admire him. He is so respectful towards others and despite dementia he shows a strong presence of mind. He defies the usual picture of dementia. He is inspiring everyone from around the world. Thank you for bringing him in our lives. His certain gestures, remind me of my own father.
Can you make a video of him conversing with your mom?
And please can you share his old pictures when he was young and you were a little boy? Thanks ❤
Joanne doesn't want to be on camera. Dan respects her wishes.
There is a video with family photos thru the years.
"Thats all I'm out there for".....to protect. This is a decent man. ,💖
What an amazing, intelligent, loving ,pure soul. How lucky you are to witness his genuine and untested love.
I love how your Dad LOVES and CARES for his family. His heart is pure gold.
Grandpa is such a selfless person, he cares for other over his own well-being ❤God bless him
Bless his heart he’s always concerned about someone. Love him so much. ❤
Omg I want your dad. What a rare gem he is. He just melts my heart. ❤
Ed is such a PROTECTOR!!! He is so sweet! God bless him.♥️🙏
It’s amazing how he cares so much but can’t remember anything. Feel bad for him. God bless Dan and Danielle. You have to have a lot of patience.
