The first Animal Crossing helped me learn how to read and I also always looked forward to saturday nights for K.K to sing as a kid and unlock his music! New Leaf I loved taking with me everywhere to play! And New Horizons released the Same day as Doom Eternal so I was flipping between the two it was great.
Great games!
YES! Animal crossing content 😌
I love New Leaf but New Horizons added so many quality of life features that it's made it difficult for me to enjoy New Leaf like I once did. That tiny inventory, lack of the tool ring, no easy way to keep track of what you've already collected in game, lack of customization options for your character's appearance... If only we could get New Leaf but with New Horizons' added features and graphics.
It's always funny to me seeing the stagnant reception to City Folk, since that was the first game I played. I then got Wild World to have my own town (City Folk was played by the whole family), which seemed like City Folk but with fewer features and crazier dialogue. Plus nobody I knew played it so I was stuck with the semi-final Nook's.
On the topic of which is my favorite, though, it's New Horizons. I've treated the game as a personal dollhouse since the beginning, and New Horizons gives you more control than ever. The villagers being boring to talk to is a downside for sure, and the game as it was at release was really barebones, but I bought the game for the terraforming and that's what I play it for.
I wouldn't say it's the "objective" best, though - and I don't think there is an objective best. New Horizons is the best for customization. Early games are the best for villager and NPC liveliness. City Folk... is kind of overshadowed nowadays, but the fact that nearly everyone had a Wii and the online features worked so well made it a really good multiplayer game at the time. My family even got the Wii Speak so we could hang out with far-away friends and virtually fish or whatever together. New Leaf ramped up the customization aspects to your house exterior and limited outdoor structures and added a bunch of features, many of which were missing in early New Horizons.
They're all good. Some are better in some aspects than others, and which of those aspects you like the best will influence which game you like the best.
great thoughts
If the next game takes the best aspects of New Leaf & New Horizons, with some of the funny villagers’ dialogue from the original, then it will be a banger 👌 I don’t know if they will ever hit that New Horizons timing again though. But I do hope they never hit it with New Horizons music again 💩
I like how u just ignored city folk, and didn’t put it in the thumbnail lol
not gonna lie, was fishing for a comment like this 😭. I actually do like city folk, it just gets the short end of the stick.
@@JacobCruise I feel the same way. It’s my 3rd fav game in the series surprisingly
``the game didnt get new free updates not even 2 years after its release´´ mario maker 2 wants to talk to you
