The Gyroid face was a punishment for not saving when you're on a train to another town's memory card. You lose all items, Bells and letters in your pockets as well.
Your normal face returns when you properly save and quit again. Despite speculation, it's not a glitch, it's fully intended to happen.
All I know is it scared the crap out if me as a kid...and I couldn't understand what happened. So I was emotionally scarred and learned nothing. 🤣

Do we have a source on it being purposeful? I assumed it was a dummy texture
I just triggered it a few days ago by mistake, and fucked myself over while traveling to a new town with turnips.
I thought if you pulled the memory card out after boarding the train(after the loading sequence, so as not to corrupt data) that was how you would spawn Blanca, and get to draw on her face lol
Side note: Tom nook just closed his store down to renovate yesterday, meaning I couldn't sell turnips(the other town was closed for his first renovation too)
How do I avoid missing the spike-price day? Because at the end of November the spike day was on raffle day, and I got totally fucked out of that week's investment(EVERYTHING was in that week too!)
If I set my second town a day earlier, will my main file be detected as "cheating" and trigger resetti/weeds and all that? Or is time travel "ok"if it's just going back and forth between towns?
Idk, it's been like 18 years since I played the game, and I'm realizing how much I forgot and how long it took to get as figured as I did(and even then I only scratched the surface)

You mean Porter, that was the monkeys name. Me personally, I think there's upcoming DLC for new horizons and he comes back in a whole new main street DLC town.

Actually... those "unused" emotes are just weird things some npc's do. They were never intended to be used by players, the ones you showed were from a video that explained the uses for each one. The KK sit, the lay that Gulliver/Gullivarr does. These emotes are just internal functions that were only ever intended for npc's!
Not all of them are character specific. Some are the emotes without expressions, or unique unused emotes (not even npcs use them)
Rover was definitely supposed to be the new mayor in New Leaf. He found an easy victim in us on the train there.
0:59 this ad is referencing the creation of animal crossing. the creator had to leave home and move closer to nintendo to work, and he felt lonely and sad, moving far from home to a new unfamiliar place, but making new friends, settling in, working…

Actually, the feature where you get more brown if you are out in the sun is included in New Leaf. I remember having online friends who were quite dark skinned because of that. And my character also got darker skin when i played a lot and was outside a lot.

i remember ppl would always talk abt how your character has to be white unless u tan and everyone was so happy when happy home designer was the first game where u can start out as darker. kinda weird to me how thats not something ppl talk abt when referring to the older games now lol
We actually know who hero #5 is… it's Isabelle! She got a hero costume in the Japanese version of Nintendo Badge Arcade.

10:20 On the Gamecube game to save you had to talk to a Gyroid that was always by your house. If I remember correctly, this happens if you turn off or reset your Gamecube while the game is in the middle of saving.
I'm not sure if this was a glitch or if they did this intentionally, considering how the game would scold you for quitting without saving.
This is caused by letting a character travel to another town via extra memory card and then quitting without saving. When you load that character back up all of your letters, items, and money will be gone and your face will remain a gyroid until you save and quit again.

I think you dont get the money or items back unless you visit the town again and leave properly, too.
As a really dumb kid, this happened to me a lot and it scared me so bad one time I shut it off and never touched it sgain

I love new leaf but it’s definitely different since I don’t have any friends to play with now. I wonder what it would’ve been like when it was thriving
About the "Sickle" unused tool in Animal Crossing, I'm guessing that it was to be used for some farming-like mechanic that we never heard of being cut from the game, as that is a tool not only as a weapon (especially with real life ninjas, who would typically use improvised tools for their jobs, which were often some sort farming tools due to a huge number of them being ones from homes that do farm work.), but can also be used to cut things needed to be cut at a farm. Stuff like cutting grass for to feed livestock of a farm. My other theory is that was how you would remove weeds in Animal Crossing, but was removed because it could be seen as a weapon in an otherwisely chill game. The axe already has enough problems to be seen as a weapon. Nintendo doesn't need another for the chill [mostly] peaceful game that is Animal Crossing.
12:15 sickles are mainly used as weapons in video games in the modern day and aren't used much irl nowadays as far as i'm aware, but back in older times they were used as tools to harvest crops. this could suggest that the farming system in acnh was a concept animal crossing's devs had been considering for a long time, and it just didn't make it in for a long time for whatever reason.

Yeah I always thought it was fun, every single thing was great and I never noticed that the paths did start to appear over time. It’s honestly funny to me that it can look like a desert if you’re town is old enough
It was my first animal crossing game and I loved it when I was a child, I didnt know it was hated
I actually didn't like it as much because I also had wild world and city folk was basically the same just with a city you can drive to. So it got boring quickly since there wasn't much new things to discover
The reference to aliens in the movie is probably referring to Gulliver being an alien in wild world
yeah I'm sad Digby isn't included anymore I liked him a lot! the info that he is the one juding houses for HHA is cool and what I'd expected but they should've done that what they did for others: a weekly guest and/or a space on Harvey's island (with something new)
or ever something smaller! like they could've pulled the thing with Lyle in Wild World
there he was an insureance salesman and just showed up outside your house to pester you and this (without the pestering) woul'dve been neat, that we can catch Digby in the act of the secret judgement and he'll just be a bit embarrest for it's not a secret anymore
They could literally solve the Lyle and Digby things with a new main street DLC town to fly to and visit. Also theres a space off to the left on Harvey's Island thats blocked off but they could add an all new Pocket camp DLC experience in that area.

The emote thing for New Horizons may not be a set of cut features. I have a theory that the emotes are tied to the animations the various villagers and characters can do, and the emotes that player can use are a specific subset of those animations. The hack just lets the player access all the animations, rather than just the intended subset.

Funny how the “lowest rated animal crossing game”, animal crossing amibo festival, was actually my first animal crossing game, and one of the first Nintendo games I played along side my family when I was a kid. Although amibo festival wasn’t the most loved game, I’ll forever respect the creators of the game.
Sickles are just smaller scythes, and are for cutting grass or herbs. I watched my grandfather use em all the time. They are pretty cool. ^^ Maybe something to help with taking down weeds?
It would be cool to see Digby grade the houses you design on the Happy Home Paradise DLC or do something like that

there definitely were cars in happy home designer (3ds) both for transportation and for placing (tho they were hard to get) i believe that with the welcome amiibo update if you had played hhd you could also get some in new leaf, but you wouldn't have been able to place them outside.

My theory that the character Crisp was going to be for an apple picking event during the spring or maybe summer. It could’ve been a really cool opportunity to win some fruit themed items like how you would win bug themed items from the bug off or fish themed items from the fish turney!

About the very last fact; my siblings and I had the game cube version and we would fight over which statue we all got (platinum, gold, silver, bronze)

Till NH many Native American items were removed from NH that included the Totem Pole series, the Warbonnet, the Dreamcaster and Tent wallpaper and flooring.
However, in the recent update, we did get Tent and flooring but its patterns on it was removed.

The Gyroid face occurs if you take the ingame train to another player's town, by taking a "travel save" on a memory card to that player's GameCube, only to reset or quit without saving; then you'll lose all your items and your face. From what I heard, it's an anti-corruption failsafe due to the way the travel save works.
There were a few car items in New Leaf as well.

Hello overall a really well edited video! It reminds me of DYNG almost style but your own spin on it. I think you saw comments about Amiibo Festival was the lowest rated Animal Crossing game twice. Only thing I would change in the editing is the text on screen. It should be slightly bigger for mobile screens also put more words together on screen at once rather than the 1 - 5 words at once. It helps for people to read out most of the sentence and be able to pause to read it if needed. Also this would help with slightly faster editing time with less sources to edit around with. Just a idea for y'all not huge demand idea but it would be a nice change. Thank you for taking the time to read my comment

I have a recommendation
I’m new to animal crossing, I never cared for it and I never had the biggest urge to get it. I got it recently and I love it. The issue is I can find any real guide to animal crossing that’s maid for plays with a fresh set of eyes. Someone who doesn’t know the community but wants to.
I think a “20 minutes of useful information about animal crossing” would be great. Calmer but quick music with actually information about the core concept of the game, things that are important to the community ect.
Sorry if that sounds lame at all.
