Epic Fail! Mixing Mediums:(

Learn from my experiences. Mixing fibers and varnish, that you hadn’t used together before, turned out to be an epic fail! The only way we improve is to continue to be a student. Never stop learning;)
As a disclaimer the error was on my part and not Irresistibles;) I’m loving their new varnish!

Works like a charm! Can get a bit messy so remember a little goes a long way and do it over a sink or covered counter NOT near your paints!

I was totally thinking if I couldn’t salvage them I would spin it that way! I was going for the just born look. But, hadn’t thought of doing the vernix;) 🤔😁

I like the XODUS matte from MacPhearsons better, but Irresistibles matte is alright, too! You just REALLY have to spread it thin, otherwise the texturing can be weird.

Thats good to hear because, I actually have it on order and should be arriving today! Are you referring to Xodus when you say “spreading it thin”? It’s always so nice to get tips and btw thanks for watching;)

@@AlzsNursery No, The Irresistibles matte varnish is the one you have to spread thin.
For Xodus, it’s a concentrate. So you have to mix it at a 1:1 ratio for matte and thinner. Spread it thin, and pounce it really well. You can also use a textured sponge/brush to enhance a certain texture, but that’s up to you.

You can buy either mohair/alpaca fiber, wash it, comb it and cut it really thin! Or use dyed silk fibers and cut it thin!
