The "perfect" type of truck, whether its Ford, Chevy, or Ram. A column-mounted transmission, front bench seat, key ignition, and without the extra bells and whistles.
Kevin Woodard: ya i love trucks, ever since i was a little kid i found them interesting. when i was 7 years old back in 95, my uncle used to spoil me. and he would take for a ride in his 95 F250 regular cab with the 7.3L diesel, and from there i just fell in love with trucks. now fast forward 23 years later at 29 yrs old i now work on cars for a living, mostly the maintenance side of it. from detailing and cleaning a car, to changing or fix a tire to give someone an oil change. i do all that for $15 bucks an hour, that's good money. i average about $2500 a month. in a year i make a little over $38.000, but with taxes in a democratic state like Ohio i still take home about $18.000 in actual money. i like all 3 truck brands including the Japanese giant known as Toyota, i even own a 2015 Toyota Tundra SR5 pro. i love column shifters, there not the most reliable transmissions considering Dodge's history with transmission problems, Ford used to have issues with there brakes and then GM was always known for cheap interior falling apart sometimes. and then sometimes there electronics would stop working, now for me i haven't really had that issue like other had. it could be just luck. the Ram 1500 from 2015 and newer has that shift knob. i have a neighbor that has that model year with the shift knob, and so far he hasn't had an issue with it. i think most modern trucks have better reliability, but Ford did have there issues with the 3.5L ecoboost. but i've driven the 5.0L many times, and that engine refuses to die.
i think the perfect truck is moonroof, leather seats, colom shift, crew cab.. and nav sync 3 headunit...
I know it's 2021, but I just purchased this truck with the EcoBoost engine. Love it!

Just bought one; this trim is everything you need and nothing you don't.
I bought this same truck, XLT 4x4 Crew Cab with the 2.7 TT 3.55 gears only in black and with the upgraded package that comes with: electric sliding rear window, power front and passenger seats, heated seats, upgraded stereo system, LED lighting built in bed, and 36gallon fuel tank, for only $1200 more. Before tax was 41K. But compared to other truck makers? None of them can hold a candle to this year's F150. I'd buy this truck all over again in a heart beat. Best truck on the market, hands down.

I bought one just like this four days ago except mine has a spray in bedliner and a 6.5ft bed. It also have a 36 gallon tank, 4x4, and 3.73 diff. Beautiful truck. Got it for $38k. Color is nice but you have to pay for it.
Beware People. The new 2015 f150 are having premature warped dash issues. Many owners been having this problem including myself. And many of the trucks sitting on lots all over the country have warped dashes. Buyers beware. This is unacceptable for a brand new vehicle.

I love this trim level. My brother has this exact same trim level and i fell in love with it at first site.
This is the trim level that I see the most of on the roads. I think for most people the XLT trim is a good blend of creature comforts and value, but I was definitely more blown away with the black Lariat you did a week or two ago. It will be interesting to see how Sync 3 will be incorporated into these trucks...
i would choose one of these over a tacoma, different class of truck but you get a larger truck with a fair amount of options for around the same price.

Mike, at 20:02 to 20:16 your showing the 2h, 4h mad 4lo button. Pulling the button out will actuate the electronic locking differential for the rear axle. It's a nice feature to use on ice or sand. It's more than a limited slip differential as it does lock the rear differential, like jeep guys have.

I love this truck! The XLT is a great alternative to the lariat. Even though I think the Lariat is better, the XLT is a great and more affordable version. If you can get a sync 3( my Ford Touch) installed into an XLT, that would make for an amazing truck

The pricing for these XLTs are okay they could better, but the new xlts come a lot better equipped than last generation.
Good video; thanks. We are buying an XLT with the 302A package which is very nice, and with a console. Don't think I'd like the shifter on the column; too much like my father's cars while growing up. I believe the XLT trim level will become the favored trim of most Americans, as it can be basic (but nicer than an XL) or very luxurious, even allowing for a double sun roof (amazing). Surprised Ford doesn't allow leather at the XLT level any more, but you can always get that later by the dealer for another $1200+/- if you really want to do that, although I suspect that most people won't. The XLT can be whatever you want it to be: basic or fancy. Almost got the XL, but decided to go the extra yard for the XLT. And yes, any vehicle beyond the most basic is going to cost about what a nice house did in 1985. Welcome to the 21st century. And thank you Ford, for continuing to evolve America's favorite vehicle.
column shifters are more reliable than normal shifters on the floor, plus they help clear up space.

It's for people who would try to steal the truck from the dealer. You can't get very far without stopping at a gas station then they would have you on camera at the pump.
dealerships are not allowed to put gas in them other than what's there it's against the law, and if somebody steals it they couldn't get very far unless they stop at a gas station. but the time somebody does that, the police will be there. it's a smart business practice, so that's why they don't put much gas in it. but it's enough to get you to the nearest gas station if your a customer.
good thinking Greg gast. that's what i put in my comment. the reason they don't put gas in car dealerships is because there technically not allowed to, but the other reason is to prevent theft. it's enough to get you to the nearest gas station, but that's about it. now for car journalist it's a little different, there's usually one vehicle provided to them to review and it's usually one of the two trim levels. but the average guy that walks around filming different trim levels with a camera, would have to pay for the gas if they allowed the person to take it for a test drive. Saabkyle is the only one i know that got lucky, but it also helped the fact that his dad owned a used car dealership that has connections with different car companies.
I don't understand how they legally not allowed to put more gas in it though. Here in Kansas I know when I want to go test drive a vehicle and it's low on gas it will add more fuel to it for me to go test drive it. They never usually fill it above a quarter

Xlt is more of a work truck and the higher ones are more for luxury
or if u dont want to spend 50-60k but still can have a nice screen for radio

Keys look stupid expensive to replace.
