#TransferCase #Rebuild #BW1356
Hey Everyone, thanks for watching. Be sure to check out what's happening with this truck nowadays. I'm completely rebuilding it from the ground up. You can follow this link for the playlist. Thanks!

the most replayed being the shift linkage is so real😂 thats why im here too
great walk through! Really appreciate noting the sizes of the wrench/sockets used. Makes a trip to the junkyard a lot less cumbersome.
I appreciate keeping this video available. I have the exact same truck and was up to the adapter plate removal procedure. Thank You ! June 2020, Fallon, NV
Great delivery in this video very smooth . NICE job!
Just what I needed.
Glad it helped!
Great video just got one question is there supposed to be some play on 1 of the chefs on the transfer case when you take it off
I need help on my 89 f150 how do u get the transmission out with transfer case all in one but only the is stopping me is the cross beam how remove one of side one that is attached the cross beam what easy way
I cant get the transfer case to separate from the adapter plate. Smacking it with mallets and pulling/rocking it and it isn't budging. All 6 bolts are out.
Very helpful, thanks!
Glad it helped, thanks for watching!
What does the 2AB mean on your transfer case? Mine has it too.
how did you get the linkage for the shifter on it off? every time i try my crow bar jumps off and i slam my fist into the frame of the t case
thx for the help!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the video, looking at doing a conversion from electric to manual on my transfer case. I saw a write up about it and it said you would have to drop the transmission but I don't think its necessary. You have the only video about removing a transfer case from a 90's model f150/bronco that i've seen so far. Keep it up. Also how are those lights still working for you? Looking at doing the same setup on my bronco.
Hey Mike, I'd be very surprised if you had to drop the transmission. If you do, make sure you have some way to support it. Harbor Freights transmission jack is great for something like that. The lights are working out great and are a huge improvement! Thanks for watching.
Always remove the t-case FILL plug first, not the drain plug, in case
Hi there like your videos... I am looking into swapping transfercase in to a 1995 single drive f150 as well as the front suspension... Everithing is coming from 1984 bronco some say its a direct bolton ...any advice
Hey, thanks for the comment! I'll be addressing this on my Live stream later tonight. September 20, Episode #14 at 7 pm EST.
Great job! Thanks for the video and all the info. I am now a subscriber. God bless you!

Thanks for the awesome comment and sub!
@@GettinJunkDone you’re welcome! Keep up the good work!💪🏼
I just removed my t case while watching your video. Thanks for the help. However, when I removed the t case from the adapter, a lot of red tranny fluid ran out of the adapter. Is this common or normal?
Yes
Doing this same job today, with the same Harbor Freight jack and lousy blue painter's tape for the bearing caps. lol Wanted to see if that bar that connected to the control lever was held on by anything other than friction before I started whacking on it. I took up the carpet and removed the doghouse as I'm replacing a leaking rear main seal, so coming in from the top made getting those upper bolts off a breeze. (Now if I can just get that $%#@ over-tightened fill plug out!) Appreciate you posting this.
Any videos on a rebuild? Have a 93 F150 5 speed manual
Hey Ernesto, thanks for the comment and view. I'll be using your comment in this week's Live stream. Sun October 11th, at 7 PM Est, Episode 17.
It seems every video on these ford transfer cases skip over replacing the lever seals.
I need to find more bolts for the transfer case to adapter as they got lost when I moved. Anyone know where I can get some?
Did you ever find some
@@cliffordhickok1610 Yeah i found some. If remember correctly they were m20's. Its been so long I cant remember
In your video the the hole where the electric shift motor would go is open, where do you buy a plug for it? I have the same issue right now.
The hole you pointed out is sealed on mine. As far as I know, on the manual shift models like mine, the spot for the electric motor isn't drilled through, so no plug is needed. Electric shift models have additional machining done in the factory to allow for the motor to access the shifting mechanism through the case.
Double check your case to make sure that it actually has a hole or not, if so you may have a casing that was originally for an electric shift. if so, there has to a solution to plug it appropriately. Try doing a search on fullsizebronco.com
Hey Troy, I hope that comment a few days ago helped. In the meantime, I wanted to let you know that I will be using your comment during my live stream this weekend, Episode 46. Hopefully you can check it out.
@@GettinJunkDone It did help, Thank you, I cleaned the hole out and was able to get a good look and see that it was sealed. I will check out your next episode.
How do I get those U bolts off front drive shaft? I have the nuts off but then I'm stuck on what to do next?
Soak them with penetrating oil then tap around the area with a hammer, just don't damage the threads.
I'm aware of how old this comment is, but this is for anyone with a similar issue. I used an air hammer and carefully hammered the u-bolt out. Bought new ones from my local auto parts store.
Why you put f 150 and it gives you bronco
Because its the same thing.
I specially came to watch this vid to see if you remove the Adapter plate "WITH" the transfer case or leave it on the trans.. and i could NOT tell from you vid where you DC'd it from (Trans side or Transfer side ?) . Guess i'll have watch someone else's vid.. thanks anyways...
I'll check in with you next time I make a video.
At 4:22 I began to state that you are removing it from the adapter plate. Starting at about 5:30 I say that the transfer case is separated from the adapter plate.
Yeah.. Just did not know what side you were refering too, front or back. no biggy.. here's another method for those pesky snap rings:

Behind the rear wheel?.......do you not mean block the wheels on both sides since what if the truck is pointing slightly downhill?, bad tip from you on that one dude!
That's exactly what I mean. Thanks for the constructive criticism!
Anyone that isn't smart enough to engage the emergency brake and/or blocking the wheels shouldn't be doing the job in the first place! Safety is one thing BUT so is common sense.
