    I find it hard to believe ,she didn't know what she was spreading wasn't true. She's a lawyer and didn't do any type of investigation before she started spreading those lies. She should be disbarred for that alone.I'm not buying that excuse.

      Well... you've kinda contradicted yourself here. It's likely that she didn't know that her claims were false _because_ "she... didn't do any type of investigation". It was a kind of plausible deniability where her claims were untrue but she intentionally didn't try to find out so that she could later claim (honestly) that she wasn't aware of her dishonesty.

      They filed the lawsuits to draw the media to the courthouse steps so they could make outrageous claims in front of television cameras using the courthouse as a backdrop to confuse simple Republican voters into believing they were actually making valid legal arguments. But when they went inside and were placed under oath they clammed up immediately.

      @@PhilLesh69 ...Kinda. They didn't "clam up". What they did was ask for relief in the form of having their lawsuit dismissed. Given that, there was no need for a court to examine her evidence because she was going to lose in any case, regardless of her evidence. She was doing that because, as you said, she wanted to make it public that she was "making those claims in court" while also not having them scrutinized by a court. And losing allowed her to file an appeal, all the way up the Supreme Court (which chose not to take up her case).

      I know from going back and forth in the Washington post comments section with devoted trump loyalists using anonymous troll accounts, even before the election, that everything is about the supreme court to the die-hard trump movement people and by extension the dominionists who put them into power, anymore.
      They really don't care what happens anymore because they believe(d) that they had secured the supreme court for a generation and they could then therefore turn every little thing that hasn't gone their way in life into an ultimate constitutional question to be decided by their newly captured supreme court.

    There's two possible scenarios here; (1) Either she's smart enough to pass the bar and is lying about not being aware of the fraud, in which case she needs to have her license revoked. Or (2) she really is that stupid and ignorant, making honestly passing the bar impossible, in which case she needs to have her license revoked.

      Rather than giving them legal advice, such as pleading guilty for a reduced sentence.
      Also repeat offenses are legal in the USA if you have money.

    Powell used the word "evidence" which implies the facts have been verified. If she meant at the time that she heard things and didn't bother to validate them then she would have said "Hearsay". She cannot back down on what she said and to me that means she believes what she was saying at the time.

    They basically admitted it months ago that, at best, what she tried to present as evidence was hearsay and that "no reasonable person would conclude that [her] statements were truly statements of fact." That's as completely the opposite of what a suitable basis for a lawsuit can be.

      This was his modus operandi as a Manhattan prosecutor. He would use the courthouse steps to say things that he couldn't prove inside, but once he said those things with the courthouse in the background and it aired on the 7 p.m. News, it was believed as incontrovertible fact by anyone who wanted to believe in him and his fraudulent bullsnip.
