Shooting for Guards is bread and butter, if he can't shoot he is a huge liability come playoffs and for a max contract there is an expectation. That expectation is you can friggin shoot, or even attempt it, he just lacks shooting fundamentals.

...unfortunately CC there have been studies done and the greats don’t necessarily spend 90% of their time working on weaknesses. A lot of them get absolutely dominating at their strengths and passable at their weakness. Not just athletes, but in several industries.

Not a fan of CC but the only point i agree with is how players are easily pegged as PGs because they have with elite BALLHANDLING skills. That doesn't always translate to running a team effectively. At the same time Ben Simmons clearly has the court vision to get away with it. Ultimately his shot as we all know is his true downfall.
But Ben has been a PG since. they call him a point forward now because of his height. Ben has always been a PG but what does CC know about basketball. he hasn't watch Ben play. The shot can be develope. there are so many NBA players that develope a shot when they approach their primes.

Simmons has played 2 seasons averaging 17 pts 8 rbs & 8 ast. The Sixers have won 50+ games in both seasons making the playoffs. That sounds like a good start of a career & he will definitely approve his offensive game as he matures. Also, Simmons can guard all 5 positions on the floor, but yet here's Cris Carter who never played in the NBA criticizing. The same Cris Carter who's only basketball knowledge comes from watching MJ which most of us have done & talking about his brother who was a mediocre baller riding the pine. Enough already.

Forte or not this is simple and you don't need elite basketball knowledge to break this down. This will be Simmon's 4th year in the NBA and he still does not attempt shots when he is open...he obviously hasn't worked as much as he should have the past few years! That means in final moments of the game.. he's the one you trust to get that bucket to win or tie the game. Ben Simmons is a liability on offense because of his limited offensive abilities. Not his inability to set up teammates. Also, the system and coaching of Brett Brown minimizes Ben Simmons in the half-court setting.
