Thank you for acknowledging that acne-prone skin can be sensitive/dry/tight and not just oily! This is something that even my dermatologist does not get. Loved your advice!
Exactly !!!!! I wasted so many years with Dermatologists as a teen because of that. I had strong acne and their treatments would always make my skin looks worse. Only after I found ONE dermatologist who told me I have sensitive skin as well I was I able to see improvements. He told me to closely look at how my skin reacts to some ingredients/products. The result was my skin can't stand alcohol denat, synthetic or natural perfume, ess oil of course, leave on glycolic or salycilic acid product, rose water, witch hazel, coconut oils, many plant extracts, tap water yes even TAP WATER... The treatment against acne all had at least one or more of the above so I was not crazy, it did make my skin worse. And even today at 38 I find new ingredients everyday but my oily acne skin is under control now and I know how to deal with it .... All thanks to that ONE dermatologist.
My dermatologist doesnât get it either. I have such dry skin and they always try to tell me Iâm oily
That is exactly what Iâm struggling with right now, my dermatologist says to use the CereVe acne prone face wash but it drys out my skin immediately after and it hurts to even talk, even when I use moisturizer afterđđ
@@kayk1763 this is exactly what they told me! my skin only cleared up when I went against their advice and used products for dry skin lol
@@HereDiianas hi so I also have acne prone skin thatâs very oily I just got off acutane and I have clear skin but I do have PIE. Any recommendations?
Iâve had acne since I was about 12. I still have it at 31, but itâs been under control for years with skincare and lifestyle. If I had access to dermatologists on CZcams as a teen, I would have avoided a lot of suffering and scarring!
My longtime dermatologist literally fought to get my skin together for over a decade. At 48 I am finally make up free, with healthy breathing skin, regularly going to the recommended in-office treatments. Nothing agresive, only the treatments that keep my skin healthy, along with the lifestyle and mindset that go hand in hand
@@jasminateodorovic1248 That is wonderful! Iâm glad you found what works for you.
@@jasminateodorovic1248 very encouraging! Iâm 35 and my acbe got qorse after my pregnancies. What are your go to treatments?
@@mariepier9016 I would honestly recommend you to consult an expert. Each human's body, skin, etc is a unique story. I had my thyroid gland removed 3 years ago. My treatments have hugely changed in order to adapt to the medications I have to use. Due to that, one thing, for example, has been told to me never to do: botox since it reduces the efficiency of the hormonal supplements I use. Told to me by: the surgeon, endocrinologist and my dermatologist. So, it comes down to longtime consistency in: 1. cleaning my skin every 3 months - derma clearing method: clears, exfoliates the skin with 3 types of acids and deep hydration as the final step (in-office), 2. mesotherapy (in-office) only 3 times a year (during colder days), 3. consistently using dermatologist recommended products at home that may vary depending on numerous factors (current skin condition, time of the year, regular medical check-ups and results, etc).
If I could have avoided negligent parents, me too!
Cleansers (leave on for 10 mins)- 5% Benzoyl peroxide twice a week, 2% Salicylic acid, Glycolic acid
Enzymatic scrub
Sunscreen
Pimple patches
Retinoids
Hypochlorous acid
I will rally for Shereene to be featured on Vogue cover. It's about time they feature real successful gorgeous women.
I don't have acne but listening you every Saturday has become a habit of mine.
i LOVE that you mention how inflammatory hyaluronic acid can be! my skin HATES it and itâs in everything now!
I have suffered with cystic acne since getting pregnant in my 20's. 14 years later, after accutane, I still struggle. It's not as bad as it was, but man...talk about a self-esteem killer. Ugh. Your videos and following your advice has helped my scarring and my redness so much. I'm currently working on evening my skin tone. I really don't want to go through the accutane experience again (it was so harsh on me), so I appreciate your content and advice in helping me age and recover the best I can. Greetings from Alabama â¤
We nerds love the work you put into your skin care videos.
I have the wonderful combination of dry skin and acne. Iâm still working on a routine that addresses both. Pray for me yâall.
Strongly recommend the goat milk moisturizer and elasticity serum from Little Seed Farm! I use the moisturizer at night and the serum during the day under my sunscreen (EltaMD UV clear).
Oh my goodness thank you so much! Iâm so grateful to have your videos as resources. Youâre so funny and charming as well, of course, as being super clear about what to do and why. I have not have a full reprieve from acne since I was a teen (Iâm 31). I took notes from and saved this video! I will follow your instructions and I am excited to begin!
I'M SO GRATEFUL TO U FOR MENTIONING THE DRY ACNE PRONE SKIN . Another thing i face is that all the dry skin cleanser are too delicate that they don't even take makeup off
@Jess-737 thankyouuu sooo much đŠˇ
This is my most favorite video you have ever published. Thank you, more more please
This was absolutely neededđđđthank you so much for existing and filling us with so much information to better take care of our skin!!â¤ď¸đŠđŠ
Always something new to learn! Love how you share your knowledge with all of us!â¤ď¸
YESSSSSS!!!! Iâve been on quite the acne skin adventure (skinventure?) lately and I NEED your guidance.
I recently change my skin routine and have seen a huge improvement! Thank you very much!
This felt like therapy. Thanks for the reminders about scrubs, picking and rushing through washing our faces. We know these things but fall into habits that aren't always the best. I have seen a dermatologist for over 20 years for acne and honestly I've learned more about my skin on your channel. In office seems have pressures for time I know, but they seldom explain what's actually going on with my skin. Thank you. Huge virtual hug for you!!!
Thank you so much Dr. Shereene. You are honestly the best and I have adopted several of your suggested products to fantastic results- and I'm a long-time skincare junkie. So great! Keep going and thank you.
Your skin looks amazing!!! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos regularly. I always look forward to them. You are an inspiration not only for your informative content but also for balancing all your responsibilities.
Not acne related but I love how natural but amazing your highlighter on your cheeks looks! â¤ď¸
Itâs like she read my mind and answered all my acne related questions. This information is VERY HELPFUL. THANK YOU for all that you do!
I already knew most of these because of my 15+ years of trying to keep my acne at Bay (35 here), but the butt one was a revelation! I've never dealt with any breakouts back there....UNTIL this year. So I'm definitely gonna be looking out for some hibiclens and the Walgreens dupe now. Thank you! Always love watching and learning from your vids â¤ď¸
Bless you, Shereene! Iâve watched three times and taken my notes đ
I would love a travel skincare routine video from you in the future- I struggle on whatâs worth taking and travel size things. SOS!
Literally the prettiest, smoothest skin Iâve ever seen
You are soo beautiful Dr Idriss! Thank you for educating us all on having healthy skin! đđđť
Iâm a guy whoâs acne prone. 41 and still break out. Love your vids. This is very helpful info
I just sent this to my 15 year old brother who has acne prone skin. Love your videos and personality, also that sleep shirt is everything
The content of the video is very rich BUT your personality is a extra amazing bonus! I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing your videos.
PoV: You don't really have acne prone skin but you gotta watch when Dr Shereene posts (also a skincare nerd)
Thatâs me with most of her other videos. I donât have this problem, but I will watch regardless.
So useful! Iâm planning on going off birth control in the next year or so and Iâm SO scared of my skin freaking out and going pimple crazy, so will def be saving this!
Thanks for your wonderful videos! Iâd love if you can do a video on eczema; it would be good to learn how you treat it and how you can still use effective skincare products with eczema prone skin
I don't know why but I love her energy..
Loved watching this so much!
BPO 5% wash has been the _only_ thing that's combatting my mask related chin acne during the pandemic (HCW wearing N95s all day). I do short contact for 2-3 mins on affected area after I wear a mask (built gradually up to this) coupled with lots of hydrating, non-actives afterwards ..
Thank you for the fantastic material! A video for products that can help acne scars would be a good idea in my opinion :) please!
Itâs so so so important to customise Skincare to the surrounding weather conditions. Youâre the first dermatologist Iâve come across who goes so much in detail & explains about diff customisations. Thank you so much. Love you loads â¤
This video is GOLD.
You are literally becoming the light of my life.
Thank you for this, I was really looking for some tips for acne prone skin :)
Dr. Shereen could be a wonderful teacher!!!!... fun.!!.. she could have one of those classes you love to go to and NOT miss any of her content!!!!....she explains everything so easy!!!!
This is super helpful! Itâs disgustingly humid in south Florida and I always felt like I was doing too much with the moisturizer + sunscreen.
Yes! Been waiting for another vid about acne, thank you! I mean in need !
Iâve learned so much from Dr. Idriss about ingredients and how to properly use them! Last time I went to my IRL derm and esthetician, I told them every non-prescription product I use for my cystic acne and they said Iâm doing everything exactly right. Little do they know⌠Dr. Idriss is my secret ingredient and source of knowledge!!
@J.Marlene yeah, i would love to know!
I have waited the longest time for you to dive in acne topic, and it was worth every minute, thank you SO MUCH đđť
The amount of joy your videos bring me⌠the most gorgeous woman Iâve ever seen!𼺠You can make a video about anything and you better believe I will watch it and then rewatch it on days I feel down! Thank you for the consistency! Thank you for the hard work! â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
I love that youre mentioning the different of moisturizer using between dry and humid area. I live in Indonesia and i rarely find video of skincare routine for people in humid area. I wish you can make one later â¤ď¸
Always helping ! please do a video about make up! What do you recommend for each kind of skin, AND what do you use? So pretty.
Thanks so much for all this great advice!! Iâm getting that pimple paste today! Happy holidays and keep safe-you and your loved ones!â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨đđž
Great video thanks - Doc you are GLOWING please can you do an up to date glowing make up routine xxxxx
Raised my hand up high when she mentioned Indonesia cuz that's where I live and I have acne prone that keeps occuring on the same spots for a long time and only got better with regular acne injection TLC - thank you for this GUIDANCE!
I was thinking what should I do now with these sudden crazy breakouts and your video popped up. Youâre like my fairy god mother!
Thanks a lot for such informative contents. This is such an educational channel and I have learnt so much!
Thank you so much Dr.Shereene great video, all the help and advice for my acne is much appreciated đâ¤ď¸
I love your personality so much!
I love the clearisil patches! They really work.
I love love love love dr. Idriss. Anyways I did use the pimple patches and they did nothing on my inflammatory acne even though it had a head already. So don't rely your hopes too much on that. I also did the moisturizer mistake for 10 years. Not moisturizing or using gels and my skin was getting oiler and oiler. And when I started using LRP cicabaume (because of Dr Shereene) my skin saw improvements. My acne comes and goes but the quality of my skin, my pores and the elasticity are way better. Can't live without it.
Thank you so so much for this video! super duper helpful! Some deep dives would be much appreciated! Merry Christmas đđ
Itâs a crazy feeling seeing you use the same spf as me. It feels like I aced my test
Love love love you! Iâve learned so much!
Thanks! Iâve been waiting for this. Now to see if itâs available here in Japan
Thank you Dr. Shereene, this video helped me a lot!
I have been struggling with acne since my teens ..I just started a new skin care journey and during the consult she mentioned rosacia ..which I never knew I had ..so I am very interested in shereens video to further discuss đ
Thank you so much for teaching us so much about to take care our skin! I wish you and your family the happiest of holidays!! âĽď¸âĽď¸
Thanks Dr Idrees. Your videos are really helpful. I especially appreciate your videos on hyaluronic acid, it really helped me understand my experience with it.
Your videos have become a real ritual for me. Donât have acne but just watching because of your awesome energy. ⨠Iâve been waiting for a channel like this one for years: professional but not serious, with content that educates AND entertains you. Thank you for all the hard work Dr Shereene đ
Please do a video dispelling myths about deodorant/antiperspirant and what you recommend!
You're awesome ! Thank you Shereene for this video !
I need that level of highlight/glow in my life!!
Absolutely love this video! as a person with acne-prone skin, I really appreciate it. I always had acne, even before med school, but when I started to understand the pathophysiology much better, it was a game-changer. I am from the northern part of India and we experience very dry winters here, so I love using Glycolic acid followed by moisturizer. I come here to learn more and more. đâ¤ď¸
To add: I use BHA during summers, BPO for spot treatment, and planning to start retinoid in 2022.
Woah you blew my mind when you said rosacea is a form of acne!
I have much to learn, even after years of dealing with acne.
Thanks for sharing such wonderful skin care tips. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Thank you so so much for this video!!! Your videos are so helpful!
Hi Shereene!! Thank you so much for the skincare tips but also motivating me during my med school app process and helping me get in!! Love you so much đ
Good morning from Kuala Lumpur! What helped me a lot was P50 from Biologique Recherche and SK II plus evening double cleanse . Thank you Dr SI and see you next week on CZcams !!
I can't get enough of your videos thanks Doc Shereen â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
Could you do a video on the various facial treatments available (e.g. microdermabrasion, derma-planning, chemical peels) and there benefits, please!
You have a great personality youâre gorgeous and you actually tell the truth I am so over HA and your video explained so much !!! Thank you for all these videos !

I love u Sher!
Would be nice to hear about skincare tips for cold climate.
I love how real you are, Dr. Idriss! You are wonderfully relatable and have a fabulous sense of humor. Iâve noticed that you donât you a Retin A in your routine⌠is it that your skin is too sensitive for it?
Such great information for my upcoming teenager thank you dr.Idriss đ
I wish I could just fly and reach to Dr.Shereene and spend few days with her... Sending you lots of love from INDIAâŁď¸âŁď¸

I'd love a video on rosacea and eczema prone skin plus hormonal acne. It's a tricky combo.
Hello from Montreal always watching and waiting for your videos thank you
Firstly, Thank you dr.shereen for taking out time from your busy schedule to share all of this valuable and helpful information. Truly appreciate your efforts and guidance that helps us to make right choice in skincare products. I have two questions how often one should use tower hypochlorous spray in a day? And can sulphur paste the one you recommended in a video be used on cystic acne too? Thanks once again đ. Also, Congratulations on your new practice and wish you all the success n peace in life
Hi Shereene, could you please do a video about treating acne scars with microneedling, lasers etc and what questions to ask the person so you can find someone who's qualified and good at their job lolz luv the video
I enjoy using LRP's effaclar face wash twice a week in the morning. I massage it on my face and neck for a minute and then wash my hair, put on conditioner, and then wash my body. After all that, it will have had time to do its magic. It does have added fragrance but doesn't bother me; I find it quite refreshing. I've also started using a benzoyl peroxide gel cream twice a week at my derm's recommendation đ
