We are a Spanish&Turkish couple who travels to a lot of different locations in Spain and love sharing our experiences as well as some useful information and local tips on accommodation, tourist attractions and most importantly, what to eat & where to eat!
This time we are sharing with you our 2-week Northern Spain road trip and our third destination is the most beautiful village in the Cantabria region: Santillana del Mar. In this vlog we stay in a traditional house that was turned into a very pretty and cozy hotel, we walk around the narrow streets with lots of flowers and tiny shops, eat at a small, hidden restaurant that had amazing food and try the delicious & sweet local pastries of Cantabria!

Those asparagus and hake dishes look seriously great, definitely adding La Villa to my stops in Santillana del Mar.

My family lives in a nearby town in Cantabria, and I have decided to buy a house there. Then I will alternate between New York and Spain. You will love Santillana!
To get the best quesada and Sobaos you need to go to Valle del pas... Selaya is the place!

Cocido Montañes se hace con alubia, berza y carne de cerdo (chorizo, tocino, morcilla, oreja...) . NO GARBANZO, NO ESPINACAS
Could be cocido lebaniego, consists of local chickpeas, potatoes, and cabbage with meat from the pig slaughter
Wow 😮 There is like £20 of saffron on that fish
They are not saffron threads, they are red algae.
