House moves to Mexico after Wilson dies, opening a diner close to the border just so that he can fulfill his promise to 13 when the time comes without wasting too much time. After she passes, "Café Chef Casa" closes as House moves on to disappear once again.
A show of 2, maybe 3 seasons? A fun premise, no?

@@soliniv1411 if you get pass the ramp of "seeing food as nothing more than food" and begin to see them as art pieces or at least a way to use structures to deliver unique experiences, then culinary art like any art can be immensely deep and fascinating.
Also it kinda fits: Sherlock Holmes whom House is based on eventually retired to keep bees. Bee keeping seems boring as well at first since it's keeping bees, but once you begin to understand their behaviors, the various species of bees, how to make them produce good honey... it can get a lot more interesting.

I could relate to House in this moment so much when it comes to my own recovery. Im always switching things to distract myself or to cope, but nothing keeps my interest for too long. I get so scared that nothing is going to work for me and i wont ever feel a consistent, lasting passion for something in my life. One thing that i always have to remind myself is that time takes time.

The man has severe physical pain due to legitimate muscle trauma. Solution? “Find a hobby.” 🙄 most unbelievable part of the whole series. Otherwise amazing show.
House and Nolan know that chronic leg pain is not something that can be avoided. If all of House's problems were simply rooted in his leg, he could amputate it. House's problem is mental, the chronic pain got him addicted to Vicodin, added to the bad things that left emotional wounds (his father's abuse, the breakup of his relationship with Stacy, what happened to his leg, Amber's death and Wilson not wanting to be friends with him anymore, his father's death, Kutner's suicide, hallucinations with Cuddy, and his love interest during the psych ward leaving him). Nolan wants House to do things so that he doesn't relapse on Vicodin and lose that progress away from relying on drugs to feel good. House lived half his life with chronic pain, clearly he's going to despair if something doesn't go right the first time and he's going to want to go back to his addiction. The solution to the chronic pain in his leg he knows what it is, amputation and rehab, but that won't change his mental state, that's why he goes to therapy, to stop being miserable.
Actually, as a chronic pain patient myself, this is 100% on the nose.
With the vilification of opioids, if doctors aren’t pushing endless physical therapy, injections, Suboxone and/or gabapentin, they’re telling us that it’s all in our heads and to find a hobby to otherwise occupy our minds.
Remember it was the addiction to Vicodin they were trying to combat. House literally says "It was either make Ragu or go out on the street to score.".
It’s actually a reasonable solution if you can’t get drugs. Still hurts, but distractions help.
