Coventry band The Specials are still making music after 40 years. They've got a new album out, and will be playing concerts in the ruins of the city's old cathedral.
In about 1995 my old group the Allstonians were playing a gig in Providence, Rhode island and Lynval just happen to be in town. He spotted the sign that said Ska Night and came in. I ended up chatting with him and asked if he'd like to come to Boston the next day to watch footy at my local pub and enjoy a proper fry up. To my surprise he showed up and after the match he came by my apartment and listened to my collection of classic ska and reggae.
