#Sony #PSP #PlayStation - Hry
Man, i still remember my late dad coming up to me while I was watching TV and said "do you want the new Playstation? And what games do you want?". Fast-forward to later that night, he bought me a PSP and the game was Medievil: Ressurection, and the date of purchase was 6/6/06, so quite ironic! I still have it along with the console's box.
Thanks dad, I hope to see you again someday ❤️.
My niece was born that day! Cheers to good memories m8
Also, ironic her brother and sisters' names are Daemon and Angel 😅
I hope my sons leave heart warming messages about our memories one day. I'm glad you have good memories.
What a legend
Sounds like one hell of a dad. So sorry for your loss, but you will be reunited one day buddy ❤️
Don't forget that you can also compress PSP games from iso to cso without any downsides such as longer loading times. That can shave down the filesize tremendously. I'm talking anywhere between 10% - 80% less space required per game. There's a tool simply called PSP iso compressor that can do this.
I personally had an issue with CSO in Smackdown vs Raw 2006 and 2007. It made matches to load for literally 5 minutes, instead of like 10 seconds in ISO.
@@unrealog Were you able to rule out a corruption issue? I've had that before, although never when compressing the games myself with the mentioned tool but with a downloaded CSO.
@@joharakiri I just used ISO instead, can't remember other CSO related issues though! I was never a fan of tons of games on my system anyway, always preferred to have just 4-5 games at a time :D
@@unrealog Yeah I don't like the concept of a whole library on my system either. That's actually why I went with CSO compression over an SD card adapter. I got a heavy rotation of like 30 games on my psp and that's it 😄
Some games didn't compress correctly when converted to CSO. Dante's Inferno would literally compress out the entire game when you tried.
Jesus, man... just looking at the Portal and the Portable together makes me wonder how Sony could've lost their way this badly in terms of console design. The PSP is timeless, I want to play games on that NOW! The portal I want to chuck at my enemies, as if it were some ancient, self-defensive hand axe...
Trying too hard to make futuristic looking devices
this was a full attempt and the portal is a low effort hand held screen
I feel like if you drop it, it's game over for at least one of the controllers and probably the screen as well. Such bad design with an obvious weak spot where the controllers attach.
@@concept226
I'm still not convinced a bunch of people didn't pre-purchased them not realizing they have no guts and they're literally just a screen with controls attached. Imagine thinking you're getting some great deal only to be stuck with something you can't use because you don't have or want a PS5.
PS Vita even if not that timeless is a clear upgrade and a way better device. It is sad that it didn't gain traction.
ETA there's also a recent mod for the GO called the PSP Go Power Armor. It's a replacement back plastic shell which is a lot thicker to accommodate a PS Vita 1000 battery which can give you much better battery life.
Interesting, I’ll take a look into that, and it charges using the Go’s charger no problem?
YES THIS IS WHAT WE'VE BEEN ASKING FOR!!! 1 game on NBA 2K takes the whole battery
@@HappyWheelFan2013 you need a new battery if that is true
The ps vita 1000 battery is just plug and play with the psp go, also there are 3d print files for the extended back cover on the internet if you have access to a 3d printer.
While it exists, you cannot use that mod and the microSD adapter at the same time (the new battery pack is too big to give the adapter a place to lay in the case).
I still have my PSP 2000 Dexter edition (custom firmware) I bought in 2006. Sony was ahead of its time back then. I hope they could make a portable console that could play ps1,PS2,PS3 and PSP.
I had the silver Daxter edition, and I played it for an entire decade, but it couldn't survive my cousin accidentally dumping hot coffee on it.
Thatd be a dream. But they cant even get their PS5 to run PS3 games lol
*Daxter
There is a portable console that can play PS1, PS2, PS3, XBOX, GameCube and even switch, plus everything before them. It’s called a steam deck.
Oh I forgot the tiny other little thing it can play…PC games which includes most ps4 games and ps5 games.
Haha I had the same one! Came with some family guy episodes on a UMD too. Good times.
This console has so many great games. Playing Jeanne D'Arc for PSP right now actually
I recall that my 1st memory stick duo in 2005 only had 64 MB of storage. Not GB. This was before games were stored on PSPs.
Insane.
My first one was 1GB so guess I was pretty lucky. That 1GB still worked two months ago when I sold all my retro collection and is probably still working. It is nearly as old as the PSP I had, a 1000 model...the OG. Pretty wild to me for flash media to last so long. Most of my SD cards dont last half as long.
The one that came with my starter OEM starter pack was 32mb 😭
Yeah, I gave $50 for my first card which was 1 GB and then a couple of years later another $50 for 4 GB. After a while I just stopped using it but if it was today, I would get an adapter and any size micro SD instead. I usually only game on my Vita though and let the PSP be a UMD reader for converting newly bought UMD games to ISO/CSO.
The day I got my first 4gb was an insane feeling
How does the PSP keep getting updates in 2023? It's amazing.
Passionate fans care more than the businesses that created them. Vita has gotten a TON of love, and is an amazing device.
@@JohnkyTonkbadonkadonk Lmao, blaming the businesses for making business decisions? Go figure.. Has Sony suffered from PSVITA? The PSP sold 80 million, so not exactly a failure on Sony's behalf.
As an aside, I sincerely doubt you would be crying over corporations IF you beneffited financially through them like I have. I am debt free due to the likes of Sony paying out sizable dividends on the yearly for the last 10-11 years.
The amount of salt and lack of businsses acument people like you lack is incredible!
@@JohnkyTonkbadonkadonk Also, can you blame Sony for dropping the PSP? You can instead blame !diots who pirated the heck out of the PSP for its eventualy demise. This is why I laugh when people try and use corporation greed or "preservation" as a defense for pirating games.
The PSP is proof that people pirate because they can, NOT because of morality issues. No reason to spite Sony back then either, and people refused to buy and support the system. Sony were also quite good in the consumer friendly side back then, so it is even more evidence that people don't give a $hit and will pirate just because they can.
Gamers only have themsleves to blame. They are not always the victims.
@@cbgg1585damn dude pull off you pink shades and look at the sales of both devices.. they really were not a real succes as you expect playstation consoles to be, talking about salt bro..🧐🫨
Get your emotions out of your investments, are you married with them or something? You saying your debt free due to them is really giving away why your salter then the sperm of soy beans..
best handheld ever
Man the PSP Go brings back so much nostalgia. I had a white one back in the day. Such a sleek system that was ahead of its time.
Crazy timing on this, I literally took my PSP Go that was just sitting in a drawer out last night. I was browsing for storage options but the original cards are super expensive and I thought the other mods needed saughtering. I was thinking of wiping the emulators from it and dedicating it to playing PSP games only since I have better options for emulating other stuff.
Soldering*
This is fantastic news! I think it’s time I purchase that SD adapter and boot up the old PSPGo. I really love the portability of the Go and having the dock and PS3 controller is going to be a killer combo! I’ve only used my dock once. 😅
I always say, Sony had the switch before Nintendo but just couldn't quite get it right
I've been looking for a dock, it's basically required if you want to hook your Go to the TV and charge at the same time.
@@drewdman10yeah, that's exactly it. Sony knew what they where doing.
I wish I'd grabbed that dock at retail prices, it's pretty sought after at this point.
this is a great video to stumble upon like a week after i just got my first ever psp go. I had the normal psp 1000s a growing up when they came out and always wanted a psp go and now i finally do all these years later. But that said ive finally got the sd adapter on the way and new battery and im really excited to try all of these homebrews and loading up the library. Thanks again!
The PSP was way, way ahead of it's time when it released and still remains one of my favorite handhelds ever. The thought that there are people working hard to keep this wonderful little handheld alive warms my gaming soul. ❤
This was amazing I love my psp and still have some movies and games to go with it . Just knowing they finally added a store is mind blowing . Thank you so much this was absolutely a great video for anyone still owning a psp go or any psp model
I got these for my kids when it came out. They never used them😂 Still in an old consoles storage bin somewhere unopened. They used the ds's their mom got them instead.
I'll buy them off you.
they go for around 100+ in decent condition
I’d like one. My psp isn’t in great condition.
So their mom took them to the Dark Side huh??🤣
👀👀👀
I've literally been waiting for someone to do a storage mod like that for over half a decade, I'm definitely doing that to my PSP Go when I can. I also have a Vita which is still one of my primary gaming systems, but you literally cannot beat the portability of the Go. Damn near any pocket could fit one.
I bought one just to mod it, put a 128gb on it with. Only downside is it takes a little longer to to boot into the home screen when you first turn it on but reads everything just fine
ahead of its time. This probably would've flourished in the late 2010's - present
Crazy how this and the DS co-existed.
Edit: In the sense that both companies did a bang up job releasing quality games for both platforms. The PSP was obviously more diverse and powerful, but that isn't to say the DS didn't have fantastic games with greater accessibility.
Cool buzz words care to explain your point???
Pac-Man ftw
@@boneheadnumber1409point? switch and ps5 coexist too
And Yet the DS kick it ass and then some.
@@boneheadnumber1409Nintendo has always had simpler hardware when compared to competition, so I’m not sure what that has to do with their ability to coexist.
Yoooo coded arms is hype. As an aside, the directions provided by the Japanese OG m2 adapter specified shaving some plastic bits off the inside of the back to better fit the card.
You should also attempt modding the back cover to accommodate a bigger battery. It also makes the PSP go much more nicer to grip, not to mention, bigger battery life
No there’s nothing wrong with the battery it lost a long time
Sounds like it won't fit in the dock then, which is THE reason to get a PSPgo. Dock + power plugged in all the time + PS3 controller Bluetooth pairing = easy PSP consolization.
Still, I'll try it for the one partially broken PSPgo that I have that can't do video out. Glad this video popped up in my recommendations!
Imagine SONY would come out with a new version with the PSP that could interact with the PS5
I honestly don’t know how it will be perceived even if done right (no proprietary memory card). I feel like the psp name has been tarnished even if it was an amazing handheld
And be able to play offline too like psp
Looking at the PSP Go, always reminds me of the Xperia Play, and I wish that the smartphone had actually succeeded, because having your phone act in as your handheld was a very innovative idea at the time, but the way Sony handled it wasn't well because it was pretty pricey, and did not have the specs to back it up as you could just get a Galaxy Note, which was way better and buy a bluetooth gamepad for a far better experience, but nonetheless nowadays we have things like the ROG Ally or the ROG Phone series, so there is proof that this market has always existed and there is demand for it, but the problem is that its not very affordable which is they are not big successes.
Which is all the more reason why they failed trying to do this in the early 2010's, the tech wasn't even remotely close to being ready at the time as opposed to the 2020's we now live in.
My sister had one, and not gonna...I was jealous. That thing was awesome.
Every time someone makes a video about the PSP Go, the price increases tenfold.
"The PSP is about to turn 19 years old..." Please stop... my soul can't take it...
Never owned a psp go as I just had the original when it released and still have it. No scratches and in mint condition still
I have 3 PSP's and 3 PSP go's Can't wait for that adapter to come in. It's the perfect size handheld. This thing has gotten me through so many weddings. I hope a company makes another small handheld like this.
This video convinced me. Buying PSP Go tomorrow. I got the vita, but just couldn't resist the slider, since memory is not a problem anymore. Always wanted it.
They produce PSP memory stick adapters for micro SD which don't require the console to be opened. I recall having a white one which actually had two slots for two micro SD cards to go into.
Edit: Read GoatV8's reply.
i thought the same thing, why open the console to put that mod?, am i missing something here?
The PSP Go has a different, much smaller memory card format than the other PSP models. Those SD card adapters for the PSP won't fit in the Go
@@GoatV8 Now that you mention it, that's correct. I completely forgot.
@@GoatV8 got it, thanks for the info.
I did this upgrade myself alongside a new battery and screen. Honestly not bad to do. I also got an aluminum case on eBay for it too. Metallic red looks nice on these. There are instructions for installation of this adapter witch does involve cutting small tabs from the back caseing of the go. I used my snips that came with my 3d printer. Cut basically flush and it closed and screws back together like factory
MicroSD mod and battery mod (psvita fat I guess) are compatible? I mean, the battery is too big so i dont Know if there is space for the MicroSD mod :c
I did the micro SD mod about a year ago when it first gained traction on Etsy with basically 2 offerings at the time. Mine fit with no issues but it also used a thinner non-rubberized ribbon cable. I traded one of 2 PSP 2000 I repaired out of a lot of 3 ($60+$30 in repair) for my PSP go. I always wanted to get my hands on one when they came out but never could. Just such a great pocketable handheld. I need a similar form factor to make a return. All I need is a screen protector collection and it'll be perfect. Boo clamshell. Yay slider
I always wanted a PSP Go....
Now I have a green PSP 3001
Im glad the ribbons got more popular. I remember seeing a japanese post about a custom cable made as a proof of concept that turned out to work. On a side note in a really round about way the psp go is a great way to have pixel perfect ps1 games for crt quality. True 240p on a component capable crt looks amazing just a bit way to expensive to do for most people.
That dock is what ended my dream of doing this. The dock is required if you wanna charge as you play, and those things were $300+ during rona
Edit: Well... there just went $200. On a dock.
@@aiodensghost8645 I did some extensive research and there was an off brand cable that would allow you to charge and play via component cables they were around 30-60 dollars at one point.
The cable has been around for years. I think I bought one like 5 years ago.
Awesome video! I just broke out both my PSP and PSP Go yesterday for a much needed battery charge. I was hunting around for the M2 storage cards and they're pretty costly so I might have to implement that hack you suggested.
Wow, gonna get this done, my fav little system
I bought a similar upgrade like this from Japan years ago that required us to use our own microsd adapter and we had to cut it ourselves then align the pins with tape or whatever. I got it to work but that shit was so flimsy, it would lose the stickiness after a while.
Glad this one got everything assembled for us. I actually damaged my psp go with the previous method where the audio no longer worked. I must have touched something while adjusting the position. Luckily I was able to fix it by using solder to bridge these two points
I found you through Axiom Verge Multiverse Edition Nintendo Switch. Liked and subscribed! Really like your videos.
Still got mine, absolutely love it
You're covering mods/homebrew that have been out for years and yet you slapped the year 2023 in your title. Good job
Nice might have to check this out
Great video, really enjoyed that. Think I’m gonna give this a go my self.
Love this! They need to revive the psp 3000 👌
To my knowledge the PSP 2000 had a better screen though? Although the improvement with the 3000 was that it also supported composite out in addition to component out, the 2000 just did component.
I've had every playstation since PS1 and mostly all the psp systems, years and years of growing up playing midnight city, Sims, underground 2, vice city. The PS3 and psp days are now just a memory
I got a psp go on release and just recently have put roms on it it and its tremendous. Wonderful little package thet fits in your pocket and can play some great systems when you get it all setup.
thanks for this, I still have my day 1 PSP Go (and a day 1 vita). def doing this
I just installed this mod over the weekend, I ended up just downloading random games or ones I might know by name only, to fill the SD. Also, you will need a router that supports older security connection types, I created a hidden guest network on WEP security and it worked just fine with PKGi. You should make a video on the battery mod with the new back cover, the battery on the PSP Go lasts nothing, even less if you've used it for a while now. The PSP is an amazing console, a must have for anyone.
I got a PSP-1000 for Christmas of '05 and it changed my life. Unfortunately it got stolen by some teenagers. It had a really cool neon-paint theme I still can't find anywhere else. Now I have PSP-3000 Silver, PSPGo White, and 4 Vitas. The best is the PSP 1000 but after the third one was stolen, I accept that the universe just doesn't want me to have a 1000 model 😂
Great video!
i managed to get one of those crazy deals you only ever read about online a few weeks ago. FB marketplace, picked up a PSP Go with a dead battery and no charge cable for $10. another $40 later, it has a new battery, usb charge cable, and that m2 to micro sd card adapter. there's a scratch on the screen that i'm going to try to buff out with plastic polish, but a replacement isn't too expensive. i only ever had a psp 1000 when i was younger, then i picked up a Vita for a good price over the summer, but this is my first Go. a larger screen would be nice, but i really do like the form factor, it's a pocket console that actually fits in a pocket. the button layout feels nice, and the bluetooth audio is a great touch. my only gripe is that the wifi card will not talk to my network.
Love the PSP Go and still got it
Yeah, I always wanted one of the Go's...👌🏼💯✔️
I remember using this to remote play God of War 3 from my PS3. It was amazing!!!!
There is also a mod where you can replace the battery with a PSVita battery and it will last a lot longer. The only drawback is it’s a 3d printed back and makes the console a little thicker but I thinks it worth it.
Personally, I prefer the Vita for playing PSP and PSone games. Many first person shooters on PSP mapped the looking buttons to the face buttons, you can map them to the Vita's right analog stick for a more natural feel. And for PS1 games that use the L2 and R2 triggers, you can use attach a Vita trigger grip and play it as intended.
PSPGo was my favourite! Perfect pocketable size, great performance
The shop is amazing for updates. I was having an hard time updating littlebigplanet for fan levels unlocked
I still have a hope that Sony will wise up and introduce a new successor portable line
playstation portal /s
@@thecunninlynguist That's just a cloud streaming device that ALWAYS requires a network connection. I can play my Switch at my office without internet. You CAN'T play the Portal without a connection to SOMETHING because it's NOT a portable console. It's basically a phone that you can remote play without the phone part
@Excalibur01 Even if they did it'd be a modern Psp go, all digital with remote play functions. Which to me would be shite cause I'm a massive fan of the UMD and Vita SD Carts, though wouldn't dare go physical with it so that begs the question of the fact you already have that option, of emulating on many handhelds out there.. Sony are wise to that.
@@Excalibur01 i guess /s is a thing of the past
For what? Nintendo has always covered that need very well. Sony has no interest in going for the portable market again. Not when they’re still leading the home console market. Too much risk in exchange for virtually negligible profits, at best. It’s the same reason why Nintendo never developed powerfull home consoles to compete with Sony and Microsoft since the Game Cube. No problem admiting their limitations but also proving successful with their own business model.
Looks like I will have to get my psp go out. Been a while since I used since I lost my charger for it when I moved in 2019. Cool mod.
The coolest use case for the Bluetooth is to pair a DS3. When used with the adapter to hook it to the TV, it makes a pretty decent home console as well.
I need to go back and fix my 2000 and i definitely want a go sometime but man its hard to justify anymore when you have a modded vita, its basically got a full psp inside including ps1 backwards compatibility on top of all the vita games, ps2 ports, and better emulation
I got one wit hundreds of games, movies n musics i always took it wit me wen i was going college on my bicycle ❤
PS1 on the PSP is amazing, it's the only way i know off that allows for shorter loading times. With the menu button ingame it opens disc speed set that to fast and notice the difference. Mostly half the normal loading times
I adore my little PSP Go. I managed to pick one up second hand, even came with the stand bundled in. I think I paid about $100AU?
The one problem has always been the storage. M2 cards were even harder to find than Vita memory cards, so I’ve only ever had the 8GB internal and an 8GB card. Gonna have to get one of those cables now.
I use my vita more or less as my all in one for ps1, psp, and obviously vita. I actually use my pspgo as a dedicated gba. Since it's small screen is very similar to a gba in size, you don't have to worry about the aspect ratio. The visual quality of the screen as well is super nice.
Yea I think if you are going to have one the vita is the way to go. Better screen. And can play more titles.
@@jimmycarpenter6612Vita can’t play FFT: WotL without some serious slowdown when spells are cast. It makes the game unplayable. Not sure if there are other PSP games similarly affected. Just something I thought I’d mention.
Wouldn't that slowdown happen on PSP as well? There is a fan improvement patch that fixes this fyi.@@GarBlaineNavy
6:25 yep games like tekken 6, or virtua tennis were console parts to psp
Honestly, both the PSP and the much-maligned Vita were and still are amazing pieces of tech. I still don't love the PSP Go (especially not at it's expensive new price) but honestly PSPs and Vitas are still the absolute peak of Sony and the PlayStation brand.
It's so cool that with new tech we can bring these old systems back and make them cool again.
Time to go dig up my white psp go! At this point my biggest gripe with the go is the proprietary cable that it uses, would be nice to get a usb mod of some kind (though i'm guessing the charge circuitry is housed in the charger itself so who knows)
I have one, its dope does not feel dated and forgot how nice it is to have a dedicated handheld system without the need of wfif! I highly recommend if you do not have one!
I've seen that m2 to sd adapter quite a while in the internet but no one sell it, I hope it came to market ASAP because I need it
Just got this for my PSP Go from back when it was cheap to get. It's a fun system hampered by its memory card so this mod is great.
I saw this a couple weeks back and was thinking of buying one. But when I realized the Vita was a better option as it can emulate the PSP directly and you can get a Vita card SD converter. Not to mention the addition of another generation of handheld games through the vita.
And the plus of having 2 analogs which should of been on the first psp
I still have my PSP2000 with memory card adaptor and 128GB uSD card. Lots of fun with homebrew. Only problem is, since upgrading to 128GB I find some plugins will make it unable to boot. Wonder if reformatting will fix it.
I got a psp go for about 60 bucks and modded it like a year and a half ago. I did this along with it and its my favorite handheld ever
The psp go was my favorite pre psvita portable console it had so much storage compared to psp and had both internal and external memory which could be third party memory which made it very affordable . Especially compared to the disaster that was the vitas proprietary bs. I literally used it to hold my entire music library and games.
This video got my to go pull my Japanese White PSP GO out of my old backpack, mod it, and play it again! It is pretty amazing how compact this thing is, even by today's standards. I'm totally that guy that had one of these laying around. 😂
I did the sd adapter on mine and swapped out the screws for some black ones. I use it on the dock with a ps3 controller to play games on my tv.
Nice, a friend of mine has a Go that this would go well with. I been modding PSPs since the old days, back when you had to convert a specific battery into the exploit method. I still have a 1000 & 2000 somewhere, but I went over to the Vita a few years back. I even bought a second JP Vita to mess around with, but I never got the chance. A few months after I bought it the thing just kept power cycling like it was possessed until I killed the battery.
I hadn't done anything to it, just verified it worked and signed into it before accidentally leaving it in the sleep mode for a few weeks on my shelf. I tried asking a subreddit about it but most of them just downvoted & talked shit. It's still just sitting on my shelf today, I'm thinking one of the boards needs to be replaced considering there's a chip/crack on one edge of the shell where I'm assuming it had been dropped, it came like that. Thankfully my original US Vita is still a-ok and fully cfw'd...
the main problem i've found with having massive amounts of storage on a psp is that some games just straight up don't like it, and will complain that you don't have enough space to create a save file, outrun 2006 does this
the (bandaid) solution i've found was to create a save file for the offending games in an emulator like PPSSPP, then copy it over to the psp and it'll read and write to the save files just fine
The PSP (every revision) was far ahead of its time when it came out. I remember my mom gifting me this as an early birthday present to have it carried with me when we were in a hotel in Turkey for 2 weeks and she drove to some oldschool games store in a town nearby to have the guy mod it for me (back then you needed a "pandora battery" to install custom Firmware).
I had a blast playing tony hawks project 8, ridge racer, my favorite psx games and pokemon emerald on gpsp emulator while sitting at the pool.
Now even today I sometimes pick my psp up to play some psp games on it. I have different android based handhelds that can run psp on 2x or sometimes 3x the original resolution, but playing on the original psp is just not comparable. Its a different feeling.
I love that device to a point where I still recommend it nowadays to friends who want to have a cheap way to play good games on the go.
Imho psp did way better than nds. It just had soooo much good games. The graphics are really good, even today.
good video man, I have a psp GO sitting in my closet, the problem with this one is that it has a black line in the lower part of the screnn, I might get that fixed in addition to this modded , another perk is that you can pair a ps3 controller, PSP go is a good system for sure
This was my first psp. I didnt mind the digital only.
Always wanted one, but never got over the fact that I couldn’t play my games on it.
Still play my standard PSP 1000. Custom firmware makes it one of the greatest handhelds of all time in my opinion.
I used my Go so much. The video ribbon cable wore through. 490 hours of MH portable 3rd.
I loved my old PSP - I had tiny disks that games were on.
I also had the issue where the XMB was slow when running an SD card. Go to the VSH menu, select the CPU CLOCK XMB and increase the speed until it doesn't stutter anymore.
I never had a psp go. But I'm now going to have to pull out my psp 3000 for that store app.
Using the PSP Go with PSP-N340 (docking for PSP Go with TV out) it is really neat !
My one retro device I held onto!
5:08 Duude, that Megaman game was awesome! Man I always wanted a PSP but my brother always got the expensive stuff and I got cheapskated on. A friend of mine had one and I was sooo jelly. He'd lend it to me and I'd just admire the thing, and imagined all I'd do if I owned one myself. The fact that you could have pictures, videos, and most of all MUSIC in it was just incredible, and the speakers played pretty loudly too (for the time especially). Idk, it was just a masterpiece both in function and in form, I thought it looked so damn cool! It was ergonomic as hell too and fit in my jeans pocket just fine, let alone cargo pants. Great, now I wanna buy one and mod the hell out of it like I did with my old GBA and SP. I didn't really like the designs of the descendants after it, specially that monstrosity of the Portal which I didn't even know existed till I looked it up just now.
I used pkgi for Vita a few years ago and recently on a PS3 from a friend. But I didn't know it's available for the PSP. That's cool.
good qustion do u just install it like whats the proces
I did this back in July of last year. Dropped a 512gb card in there (476gb after formatting). Only downside is it takes a few moments to load the contents of the card
i bought a GO in pretty nice condition from a marketplace and it even had an OG 16GB SanDisk M2 inside - 32GB of storage, im blessed
in my experience during lockdown. i experimented with different devices. I got a psp 1000 and thought it was uncomfortable to hold. Maybe a year ago i got a vita 1000 and i ultimately did not feel the draw toward the games. I think the home brew scene is great to beable to breathe new life into these but I only recommend it for people interested in the games. Plenty of people focus on the hardware mods and its capabilities but more should mention specific games that would grab attention and viewers can research before they invest time or money in this
Love my psp go. Got me through a deployment to Afghanistan
The thing I want people to make is aftermarket docks for the PSP GO, you know, the ones that charge and send video out at the same time, it's the original switch and people are still paying over $500 for those first party docks
There is a cable that i believe i picked up from ebay that has both the component and charging cables combined. I cant remember the price, but i know it was less than $50
Ive bought the psp 1004 model, and jailbreake dit, and its awesome, PS1 games, snes games everything works great, and great display!!
My PSP Go is about to go through its 2nd battery since I got it. It really needs a higher capacity replacement. If someone made a plastic ring to raise the stock back plate to accomodate this micro sd card adapter and a new battery that'd be amazing.
The PSP is a must-have system! Apart from its own library of great games and the PS1 library, it emulates everything that came before the PS1 including obscure systems like the Atari 5200 and MSX.
PSPgo was my favorite hands down as far as form-factor and ultra portability... really love it.
I have a Pink PSP 1000, so I’m good. I have a dual SD card adapter for it. I do have to remove the battery if I’m not going to use it for a while, if I don’t it will be dead the next time I use it, still fully charged if I take it out.
Seeing there is finally an adapter to solve the M2 memory stick problem is probably the first time that makes me start missing my PSP go. Why? because at the time I also had the cradle and stuff to be able to have it output direct to a TV. And at least I had rescued and got a sixaxis working again, and was then able to pair it with the PSP go for use for the games. But between the storage and just the absolutely miserable battery, I found myself frustrated to the point of just giving it all to another friend to trade for a Pseudo Saturn cartridge for my then freshly scored Saturn console.
That blue vita looks so nice
