I'm finding this weirdly specific series to be rather helpful and entertaining
I'm liking this series A LOT. This might be more advanced/detailed than wout fit in a 5-minute tutorial, but there is more guidance for pre-emptive energy production: it costs E to make E, so you want to make more before you need it (but not too far in advance, because like Brnk says, it could have been tanks). If you expect to have more mass soon, that's when you start making E. If there's a big battle about to happen and you expect to win and get all the reclaim, that would be a good time to make some extra pgens (and a good time to send engineers, because they take a long time to arrive). When the battle's over, you can take the reclaim and you will have enough power to spend it. The same goes for adding factories. In general you want to add pgens first, then factories. You want the pgens first so you have enough power to make and run the factories. (If you can afford to make the factories without first making more pgens, then you don't need more pgens!)
On the other hand, there are often times when you don't expect your mass income will grow. In those circumstances, you might completely stop making new pgens (or in extreme circumstances, you recycle some of them).
Also, all of the time, people start making a gun upgrade with a full power bar, they run out of power, and then because of the stall they start making pgens while they are stalling. If you make the pgens first, you won't stall, and you will have plenty of power to run overcharges with your fancy gun upgrade. Or just "power through" the stall. Suffering a power stall to get a gun upgrade out is not always bad. The only bad thing is bankrupting your power bar BEFORE you start making pgens. If you're going to make pgens, start making them before you empty your power bar.
I started playing faf again, surprised at sticking around the top 500 mark after 10 games even after the long hiatus.

Hey Brink, which mod was showing you more details on your mass/energy spending? And which other mods would you recommend new players to use?
This is part of FAF, there is a tick box for "show more unit stats" in the options menu :)
As for useful mods, I might have to do a vid on that....... xD
the extra Ui Part Cost(Spending) is a UI mod called Advanced Reclaim Info So if this what your were after then you will ned to go in to the client, Vault, Mods and search for Advanced reclaim info and install it and then launch a game with the Ui mod enabled and you shall have it :)

correct, if you are overflowing too much those pgens could have been tanks
Is FAF safe I'm thinking of getting it? I ask this because my friend has it and we want to play Operation: Black Day together. He goes Cybran I go UEF. I have been playing normal SCFA off steam and it's been pretty good.
Yeah, faf is safe. The method of mod/patch hooking doesn't even interfere with your steam installation. If you launch from steam you get vanilla game/lobby/steam player base, and if you launch FAF client you get our version.

Um...... it is a pretty complicated game that is hard to explain in concise terms :/. It might be useful to troll through some of the older videos on the channel where I was doing game casting, because when I was doing announcing for competitive games I did explanations of what was going on and why. 2+ years old is mostly casts I think, and there is a playlist for them.
