Wow! I liked the first version but loved the final. I was a bit worried at the beginning but I could really see an amazing transformation happen out of your bravery. I’ll remember this!
I believe the snow could be more turquoise to reflect some of sunset . From past student who loves AU and your teaching!
Awesome video! I love the way you changed that city scene.
Adding that warmth to the snow just magically draws my eye around the painting. It's more connected. Also, I'm wild about colour so yes, I love this saturated version!
They're completely Different paintings! You stepped into more than color changing, the whole Mood shifted. What great lesson you gave. THANKS.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! 😀
I love how you "self talked" yourself out of feeling worried and/or discouraged when starting the tree! So good for us to see and hear you having some issues and seeing how you conquered them! Many thanks!
I am a watercolorist. Can't recall why I decided to click into you, but this video has shown me expressionism in a fresh way. I'm going to try your ideas in watercolor, but really think I want to try the freedom of acrylics now.
This has been one of the best videos that Jed has made. To go from good to great takes courage - thank you Jed for reminding us. Thank you for taking us through the process and offering encouragement.
Love your videos and style! Loved the pairing before and more now. In my opinion I’d make the sky turquoise like the car and put snow on the parked car. With that much snow I’d expect to see snow on the trees.
Thanks Jeb. Just the video I need. I have all these paintings that 36:48 I didn' t know how to fix. Now I know what I need to do.
I found this lesson informative and encouraging. I have two paintings that can really benefit from this tutelage. I am inspired to take more risks now. Thank you for posting this.😊
fantastic Jed ❤thanks!!!
I'm a color person so I like it.
For my input the original painting definitely matched the photo! So if you consider that … the muted colors were a good perspective from original artist!
But the lesson was to show how to bring out more color and it made sense! But I prefer the original painting for my decor!
Hello. I like the brighter colors
I just love that you put yourself out there to show us how to go from good to great, and to take a risk with painting. Great to see an example. I love that tree at the back and how you brought in the light. I love vibrancy - that is what makes a painting and takes it from just a photo of the real to an expression of life. I have bought two of your mini challenges and have been watching a lot of your videos, and cannot wait for membership to open and for January :)
Thank you for the wonderful lesson and your encouragement. I needed to hear that today. I’m inspired to get out of my painting rut.
I have a large! canvass that I haven't begun to paint yet. SOON I will begin that mountain painting,
.
Great painting!
Awesome!!!
This was mind blowing!!!
Im not signed up for this class but I am loving it. I lo e positive attitude and confidence building you Shae with all of us. Thank you
I love your painting 🤩👍
Thank you so much 😀
Love your work!
Thank you!
It's awesme
Yes, from good to great! I'd like a little touch of snow on top of the fence posts and also that foliage, or whatever it is, next to the buildings. Thanks for such an interesting video!!!
You are welcome, glad you found it interesting!
From 🇨🇦 Ontario 👍
The demo was interesting to follow the whys of your changes! I want to challenge myself and make changes that may or may not be beneficial!
I have a list already of things I need to work on but am making some good progress!
Thanks for the demo Jed!!!
Awesome, I'm so glad you're inspired!
Can you go into more detail as to why this painting “might work better” with these changes? How are the colors better choices?
I’m going to try to paint a negative tree!
Much better
Very nice watch
I love how to transformed that painting, it looks "GREAT"!! May I ask what that sheet is that your using to mix you paint on inside of your wet pallet?
Jed uses a Masterson sta wet palette. It comes with special paper that sits over a wet, flat sponge. They also sell the paper separately for refills.
I am confused by the highlights and shadows. Where is the sun positioned here,?
What is the block brush stokes style called? A lot of painters use this style.
Not sure, I haven't ever put a name on it. I don't think everything needs a label :)
very nice transformation however, i didnt care much for the yellow sky, it was too much like the color of the house
I liked it better before you painted yellow in the point of the roof
But overall, yes, it’s a great painting. Way to go, Jed!
Love It
Thank you so much!
