What's funny to me about this is that I was born in 1994 and when this episode was airing (1999) I was obviously too young for the show. I remember when the reruns were airing in the early 2000s and I remember not being "allowed" to watch BMW. However, I do remember sneaking into the room once when my sister (who is 10 years older) had been watching had stepped out of the room for a minute. This show was never a KIDS show, it was meant for people around the age range of the main characters, which were just hitting puberty in Season 1. Sex was an important topic and Boy Meets World handled it DAMN well.
This aired on Friday which ABC designated a "family" night for kids and their parents. The other shows that aired before/after Boy Meets World included Family Matters (Urkel), Sabrina, Step by Step (two single parents get married). These shows also dealt with teenage or adult issues.
Topanga loves Cory so much that she puts up with his neuroticism. When your other is crazy and it doesn't bother you! After he embarrasses her publicly, he goes on to ask her if SHE realizes that SHE owes HIM and then asks does she intend to PAY him. With a smile, she simply says "Yes" to each line, even the Don Fransisco one lol. That's love people!
She's just a neurotic as him just in different ways. They were a great couple. Even if they gave me an unrealistic view of what middle and high-school would be like.
