    Man. So so many memories of these figures. To this day, I still own Treebeard and Sauron!
    I had to get rid of the rest, but man. The stories I could tell. Each of them has one, and they'll be cherished forever!

    This is so awesome.. I remember seeig these toys all over toy stores and never pick a single one of them because back in the day I wasn't that into TLoTR as I am today and I fully regret it

    You need a Balrog. Awesome figure.

  • @ReconFigures
    @ReconFigures Před 6 lety +1

    I'm not a big LOTR fan so I completely overlooked all these toys, but watching you go over your figures was actually quite entertaining!
    I really don't get action features. Of course, collectors don't care for them, but I'm sure kids would get bored of them really fast. But that Treebeard at the end was amazing! So much went into the production of that. Great piece in your collection!

    • @Zubbie
      @Zubbie  Před 6 lety +1

      Glad to hear you enjoyed the video! I had Treebeard packed away just because he's so massive so when I put new batteries in him, it was like "Oh yeah, I forgot how cool this guy is!" lol I'd hate to think how much a figure like him would cost today!

  • @forgotn42
    @forgotn42 Před 6 lety +5

    That Treebeard figure is so cool. I've been eyeing him for a couple months now, but wasn't sure about it. This video sold me on him though. I'm gonna have to pick him up soon.

      Yeah, he’s one of the few LOTR figures I own and he’s incredibly cool. The paint job and detail are incredible, and he just looks super impressive on the shelf. Recommended for sure.

    That was a fantastic video! Your collection is magnificent and quite huge. I only have 3 figures from LOTR... Gandalf the White (The Two Towers), Saruman the White w/ Eye of Sauron (The Two Towers), and the big Cave Troll. I wish that I had some of those horses... looks like they have great articulation!

    These had come and gone before I started collecting figures. If I had unlimited funds and display space, I'd have started collections of Masters of the Universe Classics, the 25th anniversary G.I. Joes and these Lord of the Rings figures. Thanks for sharing!

      I haven't ever played any role playing Lord of the Rings games, but I have a few of the board games. I'm a big fan of board games in general. 🙂

  • @paulofernandesroberto9336

    Great collection Zubbie! LOTR is my favorite movie franchise by far as well as my favorite toyline! I hope with Amazon getting the rights to do a series in the next few years, we somehow get new action figures! Fingers crossed! ^^

    • @Zubbie
      @Zubbie  Před 6 lety +2

      Yes! I'd love new a new toy line too! 😄 I'd prefer if a new line stays in the 6 inch scale so it works with the older action figures too.

      Surprisingly, I didn't collect all the Burger King toys. That's awesome you have the full set!

    @bewilderbeastie8899 Před 6 lety

    I'm... I'm so jealous. I've been a fan of LotR for years, but I missed all the hype for it and to be honest these figures seems monstrously expensive enough that my parents wouldn't have ever bought them for me. Damn.

    • @Zubbie
      @Zubbie  Před 6 lety

      I think these were $7.99 in stores, with the exception of the really big figures. Sorry to hear you didn't get any of them back then, but the good news is they haven't gone up in price too much so it's never too late. 😉

    • @bewilderbeastie8899
      @bewilderbeastie8899 Před 6 lety +1

      Wow, I'm really surprised! I'm pretty sure figures as nice as these would be at least $15.99 a piece now. Which is... a depressing thought.

      I'm going to lock you in your house until you watch those movies. 😝

  • @Dinoslay
    @Dinoslay Před 3 lety

    I still own some of these and the Fell Beast. Trouble with the latter is that ToyBiz made him slightly undersized compared to the Ringwraith that came with him which is understandable knowing the creature’s size in the movies.

      Interesting suggestion! I'm not sure how I'd make that. Maybe sculpt it out of clay with fabric straps? But then there might be problems having the mask fit on more than just the character for which it was sculpted. I'd have to give that some thought. Thank you for the suggestion!

    • @Zubbie
      @Zubbie  Před 6 lety +2

      Did you like the action features as a kid? I never did because it meant those figures couldn't move freely how I wanted them to. It always annoyed me when they couldn't bend their legs or sit down because of some action gimmick.

    • @hipzilla702
      @hipzilla702 Před 6 lety

      Zubbie I didn't like it for the same reasons. why have a button for punching, when I can do that myself?

    • @hipzilla702
      @hipzilla702 Před 6 lety

      I can't say that I liked it even as a kid. I never saw the point of most action buttons/levers for actions if the figure had articulation, of it you could easily just move the figure yourself. I don't need the toy to do the punching for me. Missile action, was pretty much the only one that ever made any sense, if done correctly. Like my Code Red (Iron Kong) figure. They worked the button into the actual figure, to the point that I couldn't find it at first. Other honorable mentions for useless actions would be light effects that have no reason, or take away from the look of the figure. Also, that annoying water squirting action that some 90s toys had.
