I had the flip-head, yellow suit Mask figure with his dog pal (and the mask that could go on the dog). I loved it!!!

Yeah, I believe the drawback of that line was the lack of characters.

Had all these as a kid. Remember in the 90s big lots had these. Robocop. Godzilla. And the Tarzan line that came with clip on badges you wore on your shirt. Not to mention all the chap mei stuff. Big lots in 90s man

@That Junkman ''The Mask'' first debuted as (Masque:) in Dark Horse Presents #10 from September 1987. And was inspired by a combination of ''The Joker'' and Steve Ditko's version of ''The Creeper''. Along with some elements of (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde).

Credit to the Tex Avery style CGI animation in the Mask goes to Steve "Spaz" Williams who did the original Jurassic Park T-Rex animation also the T 1000 from Terminator 2. Effects that still look good now.

Here's an interesting story about this movie. Jim Carrey performed Cuban Pete in the movie. They released a CD single of Cuban Pete that had 2 versions of his recording plus a classic version by Desi Arnaz. Oddly enough the producer of the Desi Arnaz version was listed as Al Yankovic, otherwise known as Weird Al. What had happened was he produced an I Love Lucy music compilation in 1991 called Babalu Music. When they created the CD single they took the credits from that CD and gave him credit for producing a song that came out 13 years before he was born.

Parents in the 90s were absolutely not on board with buying you multiples of the same character from a toy line. The 1997 animated series line from Toy Island was even worse. not one single other character and “2 in 1” masks. But, they did have excellent card backs (possibly top 10 of the 90s).

Believe it not at the time the movie came out I didn't see the mask in the theater. It didn't seem i would like it. I love Jim Carry. But years later I saw the movie and wow it's actually funny and just fun movie. It doesn't take it self serious. And I didn't know there were figures based ob the movie.
