She is beautiful but she probably only got into acting because she was John Voight's daughter. I mean who isn't going to become a Hollywood actor if their parents were in the business before them?

@@brigittekatielodge8367 no.. she's a very talented actress and she was estranged with her dad for so long , she never needed his father's help to put her in the limelight. Her eyes alone is so alluring enough for the directors to catch her a role. She brings awards to her films too. She wouldn't be top paid actress even til now, if it was only because of her actor parents. no
That would be weird, having to attack someone you don't even know, oftentimes so viciously, while simultaneously being at a point in your personal life where you really want to make friends and you're feeling so lonely. I think that really helped her with the part in the end, because you can see Lisa's character trying to get to know Winona's character, trying to find out what makes her tick, and trying to establish a connection (albeit based on control and dominance), but being unable to respect boundaries. It seems that one would need to create a persona for the other actor or make assumptions about them first, and then allow it all to unravel onscreen as they reveal themselves to you through the script.

She’s definitely high in all her interviews during this era. She cant keep a coherent sentence straight and is always stuttering, fidgeting, scratching, bugged eyed, making faces like the sun/lights are killing her eyes like some sort of vampire, all her backtracking and forgetting what shes saying as she is saying it, messing up words, etc.

I am so happy that she got the help she needed. Otherwise she would of been another tragedy like River Phoenix. I remember her at that age.

She’s really been through a lot emotionally but she really did make it through and not look back!
This is a great film, but I would have written a slight difference. Maybe it was meant to be as disturbing as I found it, but that scene where Wnona Ryder writes her off as being "dead inside" felt wrong to me. The Jolie character has deadened her emotions but is actually magnificent, brilliant and coping with the same things as performance art. If you compare that to her other choices, I love her for it. Maybe a character like that could go on to do other things and fill in the more conventional kinds of achievement later. She was never wrong, though.
Considering the movie was largely based on the real Susana Kayson’s experiences in a mental institution, it probably wouldn’t have been authentic to her story to change something for being too harsh
@@MythsofVirgo That's what makes it great art. I would guess that editing was done to keep the most essential elements of the plotline central to the screenplay.
Damn her eyes are so beautiful she was and still is the sexiest woman of that era.

Insomnia, cocaine, heroine, cutting... post Tomb Raider, when she adopted her son, she got sober and started eating properly.
EDIT: plus adopting a Hollywood-grade skincare routine, and at least 1 face lift (very well done, too).
