Disregard THE METERS, I have MANDRILL and WAR as my "go-to". As of now, my record collection goes north of 100K. I've heard them all but MANDRILL and WAR still are the two band that ties the rhythm from from around the world the best!
When my bro got out of prison he introduced me to War and Santana. Music at its peak. I saw Santana live a few times but never saw War. I envy anyone who had seen them back then. My brother used to call them "sounds of the streets " bands !
Sounds of the streets is truly what those two bands were for sure. This music was for regular folks not those uptown posers that got into all the "Glam" shit....

Saw them in 73 at Stadium Armory in D.C. They turned it out. Plus, that was the 1st (but no last time, I'd been in a stampede! Crazy!,

Any live show is a great show to be part of the audience Sak. To get to see some legends is icing on the cake.
