  • Decided to stop and fish close to the boat ramp. Its a place I typically don't fish due to boat traffic and a few other things. Well looks like Ill be adding that stretch to a must fish again stretch lol.

      @mickaburkhart14 I honestly don't have an answer on that. I have high hopes it will, but again, I personally haven't seen it. I will be buying multiple of your new ones for sure tho. It's almost identical to what I came up with at first from the preview I saw. Ended up goin another direction, but at least I'll have both ideas / color schemes in my collection now, lol.

      @@Matt.A well glad to hear you got a boat. Opens up way more options. Dragging for channel cats is basically the same way. I would imagine the bait size would be different unless you have big channels in your area. But you can definitely catch flatheads dragging also.

    I would rather most small to medium size boats just stay up on plane and go by because they only throw one or two small short little waves. It’s the guys that think they’re trying to help you out by hitting the brakes 40 feet from you then sending huge waves For the real big boats who just really don’t give a crap. They also suck.

    Micka, big fan of yours brother! I’m taking a fellow Veteran fishing on the Cumberland this Sunday. We will be fishing the south end of Old Hickory. I plan to catch some bream (bluegill) skipjack and shad for bait and dragging several 50-60 ft holes I know of in that area. I know you prefer white bass, but I’ve never tried them and honestly wouldn’t know where to look or what to throw at em! Lol. I just want the guy to catch some fish…not targeting big fish, but I do have the equipment to tackle any good fish that bite. My question is do you believe my bait choices will be a waste of time? And, if so, do you have any tips/tricks you would be willing to share to maybe catch some white bass? If it helps, we will be starting around 7 am and fishing until all of our water is gone! Lol. Thanks for any advice you may be able to give. Love your videos man!

    • @mickaburkhart14
      @mickaburkhart14  Před měsícem +1

      @@DannyEstepJr no the bait choices you have will definitely put fish in the boat for sure. I prefer whitebass this time of because they get schooled up and chase shad. Well the bigger fish chase them lol. A food chain type of thing. Plus I drop my chances of catching little fish. Not all but most. Honestly I really couldn't tell you exactly where to find the whitebass. I catch them roaming in the river. Somedays I find the right school and it's quick, most days really have to work for them. But you plan and bait selections will definitely do the trick.

      @@mickaburkhart14 so our trip didn’t turn out the way I wanted, but I did manage to get him on two fish and he learned a lot about catfishing. There was absolutely no current until they opened up 2 gates on Old Hickory around 2 pm. I’ve really never fished for lake/reservoir fish but we drug probably 1 mile total. (2 separate drags through 60-70 foot of water.) Really never got any other bites. Good God was it hot out there! Lol. Do you think the lack of current kept them from biting? I ask because we caught both fish after the current started. Maybe the fish weren’t that deep, but I figured with 84 degree water temps, surely they were deep. 🤷🏼 Nice fish on your last video! My biggest was only 67 lbs. That fish you caught was a stud!
