- Went out searching for some post spawn fish. I ended up getting a few. I was really glad to see that the males are starting to work there way out.

Always great day of fishing when you go out and target a certain species of fish and your successful. Great video
Thank you
Thanks micka
That's exactly what I was hoping you would show I have been looking for the big arches on 2D I'll try focus more on activity like you showed
Yeah that will generally keep you in the right area.
@mickaburkhart14
I must be doing something wrong
I've seen all kinds of activity this morning from daybreak till 11am
I've tried slow .5 up to .8 from 12' to 45' for a mile or so 2 planers total of 5 rods skunked with cut skipjack and even tried chicken
The only thing I can figure was very low current ? Any help ?
Thanks
Love the fact that you pointed the pontoon boat in the right direction. Most CZcamsrs are very closed mouth especially if they are also tournament guys.
Yeah there is alot of water to fish out here. So it's a little tough to figure out sometimes but if I can help anyone out I definitely will.
Wish I knew the river your on can't find now catfish anywhere around me. @mickaburkhart14
Sorry meant no catfish around me
I knew this trip was going to be great. You start out with a laugh and a few early heck ya's. The trip was great. Thanks for all the info that you gave out. Be blessed. My friend.
Lol thank you
Awesome day of fishing right there brother. Enjoyed it 👍
Thank you. You had a pretty good one also. That ole crook back fish.

Man awesome video really loved going over graph stuff couple videos ago in tackle room you showed the way you snelled a hook I love it works a lot better It gives me more piece of mind
Thank you. Really glad that knot is working out for you.
Well done Micka. Main channel deep here is the ticket as well. Watts Bar charter today started at 6am due to end at 11am, no fish until 10am, them bam, ran into them, including a skinny 30lb post spawn wide headed male blue, big for Watts Bar. Between 6 and 10 drug intermediate channels (40-50) that is fed by several creeks (nada), 10 to 11 drug DEEP (80+) main channel (bingo). Smokin hot here, zero current, and full moon. Surface temps shot up from 74 last week to 82 this morning. Got another charter tomorrow morning, I will definitely be going deep. Stay cool and hydrated, and keep laughing! Great channel.
Another great video. Appreciate your dedication and thanks for taking us along with ya
Absolutely no problem.
Good deal. Keep it up
Been warm here in Arizona 😊 Fishing been good though 😅 strictly night fishing now

You ever fish from shore? I'd like to see you do some bank fishing videos.
I do on occasion. I can definitely do a couple bank videos in the future.
He tried a couple weeks ago when everything was flooded. Great video even though he struggled
@@mickaburkhart14That would be awesome.
There are some East TN Catfish you tubers that fish the same water as me. I will say hi, and ask how they are doing, they snob ya. Keep being you man.
Yeah I hate that. I really wish that stuff didn't happen.
Is that the Tennessee river mick just curious
@@user-eu9wf3eo1v no that trip I was on the Cumberland.
Im ready for you to catch that record breaker and beat your own record like a 140# blue cat
I am so ready for that myself 😆
What brand and type of boat do you have. I am looking for one like yours, love the stability and setup, but all i find locally are cheaply made modified jon boats. Ty
I have the lowe catfish 20. It's now called the outlet 20. Very good boats. I love mine.
Do you use a 3 way swivel or a sinker slide for your dragging weight?
I use a 3 way swivel
So, why the change of action when you determined that the fish was male before you landed it?
Well seeing males like that especially towards the back end of the spawn means they are moving back out to chill and feed. The males are the last to come back out from guarding fry. So it's a good sign that the spawn is about over.
I hope that's what you were asking about.
Do you ever fish these area's at night.
Are you dragging up or down?
Up river
What speed are you dragging typically?
From .3 to .5
What exactly do the planer boards do? Are you still on the bottom? Do they just keep the lines spread out?
Yes I'm still dragging bottom. Yeah pretty much all they do is spread your lines out so you can cover more water.
Do you ever fish at night for catfish?
I do. I just finally got my light setup for filming at night. But the bugs are already terrible around it it just makes it very annoying to fish at night lol.
How do you tell the difference from Male and Female?
The males will have a wider head and bigger mouths. Females will have a smaller head and mouth.
@@mickaburkhart14 Thank you
Are you fishing a river or reservoir?
It's a river. But I'm between 2 dams.
