My hair has been thinning since early 40’s and I finally decided to stop spending money on lotions and potions to try and regrow it. I switched over to wigs and instantly looked 10 years younger! Bought my first real hair wig. Blond and Long and I love it!! I also have some short edgy styles too. Now I match my hair with what I’m wearing lol!
Adrienne C that’s cool! I’m a couple months away from 40 and have thinning hair... wigs sound cool.
I'm 64, I have beautiful Dred Locs and I wear ripped jeans, boots with buckles leather jackets and skirts, I feel beautiful and because it's my PERSONALITY. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
You'll be a BADASS forever. :)
Rock it!
Starr 64 👍🏾
Am gunna wear my ripped jeans tomorrow and am 58
rock on girl, i am the same, i will dress young as long as i want, i wear skinny jeans leather bomber jackets, stilleto shoes and boots, and why not, let the stupid ageist people f---k off, one day they will be doing the same thing, lol.
I loved this talk! I dont wear mini skirts (chunky legs) or halter tops (saggy bust) but everything else is open season -even at 61. Thank you for this wonderful system!
You are welcome!
I love all your comments. I got that from my last son. Mom, you don't find you're to old for certain clothes. I just told him as long as I'm not wearing very short clothes and not overly exposed, I'm going to dress as I see fit. You ladies look great and I'm 63. You go ladies. You ALL ROCK.
I’m 51 and petite, probably look more mid 40’s and have long hair. I don’t conform to any fashion rules, I just wear what’s comfortable and looks good. I’m a casual kind of gal with tees and shorts or jeans. I do like to dress my age and not like my 17 year old daughter. I’m always looking for new ways to style myself so this video helped.
Do you know your Type?
I'll be 62 in April and absoutely adore dressing my truth! Before DYT, I was definately a frumpy dresser. But DYT helped me to see why I liked certain things and how to develop them into a style. Now, I never feel like I look bad when I go out! I also never think something is too young for me if I really like it. Thanks so much Carol fot the work you put into developing this program. It's a life changer!
I watch Fashion advice videos a lot , They always talk about what you "Should/Shouldn't" wear, Conforming to the rules etc... Never about How Fashion is an Expression of your Identity. These videos here are a Breath of Fresh air.
I am turning 60 this year , I am a great grand mother and I wear what ever I want -from blue jeans with rips in them to my fancy jeans that had rips in them how ever I took and sewed on my own style of cloth that I liked at that moment, I have short dresses that come just above my knees to dresses that go down to the floor , sweaters ,sweats t-shirts . I wear clothes with pictures of animals on them or big flowers of every color under the sun. I love flashy "blingy " clothes and jewelry as well as every kind of shoe you can think of from flip flops to heels , and in bright flashy colors as well. I am a wild child lol .
oh and as you can see my hair is long very long , it has been this at for many years now -and there is no way I am cutting it ever
I am 27. You go ladies!! You give me hope!
What Type are you?
I dress for my personality which is young even at my age of 68. If it makes me feel good, that's my barometer. I have long blond hair that reaches my waist and I love it! I define me!
laks?....... Oh brother.
lovely, keep with it.
Being who Yooou Are ! If they don't like it Fu*k It ! Besides you're on Gods time not theirs .. Enjoy Your Life !
Good grief I'm only 53, I do NOT consider myself old. When it was mentioned that has had to be cut short at 30 yrs old I almost choked. Bad advice from her mom. My closet is mostly filled with neutral tones and always has been but I also wear pastels and jewel tones. I also love my ripped jeans! I will never give up wearing jeans, never will I trade them for polyester with an elastic waist. Who makes these so called rules? And fyi, there's also nothing wrong with a gray cashmere sweater, it depends on what you're wearing under it.
Each of these ladies looks fabulous, that blk lace and hat.😍😍
It never crosses my mind that something I love and makes me feel good might be too young for me. I think you should dress in a way that makes you feel good.
So a 70 year old should keep wearing body hugging Fredrick's of Hollywood mini skirts and hooker heels? Get real.
As any woman ages she changes, her skin, hair & body so your fashion choices should adjust to these changes. These women are all still dying their hair. None of them are brave enough to embrace aging naturally with grace unlike someone like Blythe Danner, Diane Keaton, or Meryl Streep & Carmen. When I age I will do naturally.
There is balance involved, these ladies do not need to act smug and silly like they are. People can dress anyway they like, the rules are only for those who choose to follow them. Personally, to mock a gray cashmere sweater just shows ignorance.
I agree. You can go into any retirement home and take a look around. You'll see an abundance of pastels, floral patterns and little white tennies, so a couple of these gals would fit in well. I know these ladies feel great with what they're wearing, but not so sure their advice is helping anyone to look youthful!
Adele Trimble What's wrong with little white tennis shoes? I own a pair of white Keds now and I always have. There are times when sandals just won't do. If they were fine when I was 20 (which they were) they should still be fine at 53. They're usually worn with rolled up boyfriend jeans or with shorts.
Lol...there's nothing wrong with little white tennies! I feel everyone should wear what makes them happy and comfortable! My feet have been paying me back recently from years of wearing stylish shoes, and to my surprise, I found a pair of plain black ballet flats recently that actually feel good, and they are..... Easy Spirit brand! But I think they look pretty chic and they feel great. I just had to chuckle at the ladies (a couple) in the video who seem to be giving advice on how to look youthful, as they're wearing some pretty stereotypically older lady attire while criticizing wearing chic black or gray attire. To each their own, but no thanks! :)
I love this! I am a BoHo woman who is 78 and have never defined my style by my age.
I don't think these women are dressed 'young'. They look normal.
I know, right? I'm normal lady and I should know. I love to dress in style with a touch of sexy. Period. :D
What's normal ? In this day & age folks are off the hook or chain , what ever floats one's boat ..
And beautiful!
I think they're charged up energetically in their truth, and high energy is a sign of youth. Which is why they appear to be younger. :)
Yes
Why is it this CZcams channel is so incredibly addictive, haha! I never get sick of it. That Type 3 lady's story about the guy looking her up and down and high-fiving her was awesome! Love that soft olive of Carol's pants with the soft brown shoes. Those are the sorta colors, and low contrast, I look best in. I consider myself "Soft Autumn" in other systems, which seems to be the equivalent of a type 3/2, kinda like Anne Marie Gianni was called a softer or gentler type of type 3 in her makeover.
We today, are a different generation to our Moms and grandma's, we have totally different attitudes regarding what to wear. I'm 58 and still feel young, I wear what I feel looks nice on me, and also what is comfortable! I love bright, and pastel colours, I don't like very dark colours or black.
Do you know what type you are? I agree, we are truly a different generation :-)
Age doesn't matter on how you dress up as long as your comfortable and confident wearing it. You're not doing it for anybody but for yourself.
You women look beautiful. I think moms who have teenage daughters and try to dress like them are the ones with issues. Dressing for your personal style and owning it is always a win win. This is just my personal opinion.
I love this video! I love that you called it dressing your truth! I hate being told what I "should or shouldn't " wear because I'm over a certain age! Now that I've seen your video I feel empowered to continue dressing my truth! All the women in this video look amazing!
Everyone looks stunning!!!
Thank you for your supportive comment!
Carol looks especially good here. I like the monochrome neutral blend a lot.
LOVE Susanna’s 4 questions and her “drippy edge” personal style name. Everyone looks amazing
Thank you for watching!
Everyones skin looks amazing and no thinning hair! WOW!! Clothes just enhanced what was beautiful naturally.
Thanks for that encouraging video again. I'm a 58 year old type one, secondary two, and I love to dress my own style, mostly completely in disaccordance to my surroundings who expect black for my ageç I can see how I shine more when I'm dressing light, shining, sometimes sparkling clothes, which always have to be very comfortable and convenient supporting my secondary energy. My daughter who is 21 and a type two, secondary three, grew up with DYT knowledge in her teens. She naturally prefers soft tones and cozy materials, sometimes with a tone-in-tone texture due to her secondary. She, being a third of my age dresses calmed down and looks beautiful. Me, turning 60 in one and a half years, l love lively and shiny colours and things and that makes me look my best.
Cut our hair, wear black & grey, avoid all colors and interesting patterns. In other words give up living a happy existence now and forever, and buy our own gravestone.
Why would wearing black and gray be giving up a happy existence? Two words....Audrey and Hepburn. :)
Adele Trimble It's in regards to the taboos in the video on what society expects older women should and shouldn't do in fashion.
Sounds like me as a goth
Yaaaaas🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 you Gals look and act GREAT!!! 40 here... but 27 forever😘
I am 53 and I love my type 2/1 feminine style, I have been dressing my truth for over 12months and always loved type 2 style and colours and it finally gave me the courage to get rid of all my trousers, jeans and shorts as I was never comfortable or felt good wearing them so I know only wear skirts and dresses and don’t wear anything tight fitting or shorter than my knees and definitely no black, I also have been growing my curly hair longer as I was never happy when it’s shorter and found it difficult to maintain
Good for you! Isn't it a blessing to know and honor your true self?
I was worried about dressing Type 2 because I thought it would make me look much older than I am. After seeing this Type 2 woman I’m ready to rock it! Everyone looks great with a great edge 🤩
Good for you! Have you taken the full course at dressingyourtruth.com?
@@CarolTuttleVideos Yes and I just now ordered the kit and two of your books. I’m really loving all your content! The quiz put me in Type 2 and I feel mainly to T2. Facial profile is also mainly T2 but I am seeing some T1 in face. The facial profiling threw me off the most but I am loving your program. Thank you 💗

I'm 62 and I wear skinny jeans. Because I can and I look good.
Excellent video! this was a CZcams suggestion that I really like! I'm a new suscriber.
I'm 58 and I have a full head of purple hair! 🧜🏻♀️❤️🦄
I LOVE this video and these ladies! Far from frumpy! They look great and are so inspiring! I look forward to being confident in my style even when I am their ages and beyond! My first time on this channel but I will return for more videos such as these! Abundant Love Beloveds!
Thank you for this video!!!
This video was excellent 👌🏼. Thank you.
Cheryll looks absolutely stunning!
Thank you for watching and your kind supportive comment!
I'm 55 and I still wear daisy dukes, thong bikinis, ripped jeans, back out top and whatever else I look good in. I don't let society tell me how to dress. As long as I have the body to wear beautiful clothing, I am going to wear them.
um what part of the clothes that you described wearing..would be classified as beautiful?
Quit clutching your pearls. Audra! It's okay. Constance is doing Constance!
Audra Hollis
Clothes are not necessarily beautiful in themselves, but look beautiful on somebody. Some clothes are works of art that look fabulous in themselves, but very few people actually look good in them. This is different for different people.
Daisy dukes look trashy at any age. What are we teaching our daughters? JMO
This is so true! I love your outfit Carol.
I'm not quite to my 50s yet but getting close . I have been funky my whole life but wasn't allowed to show it . I didn't even allow myself . Now it's a different story . funkier the better . vtg clothes and some I redesign . paint funkness on my jeans and combat boots . etc
Holy moly they are stunning and fresh and young looking for their age! So inspiring, Love the movement in fashion you are all creating
Thank you for watching. Do you know your Type?
yeah, i think most people dress certain clothes and accessories based on their personality rather than age.
Just saw this video appeared on the side bar (CZcams recommendation) and I'm loving the contents of this video. I will definitely spend some time to catch up with your previous videos and see what are you gals talking about Types 1, 2, 3 & 4. I'm 52 years old and I know I sometimes dress my truth rather than dress my age - my 22 years old daughter kept telling me that when I dressed my truth. I'm 5'3' and a big overweight, so a lot of clothing I want to dress, I can't wear them... Anyway, I will check and see what Type am I... Really happy to have bumped into your channel :-)
I loved this; and all of you look fabulous!
I will be 57 in a few months, but my mother (who is only 81) constantly tells me I do not dress my age. Her comments are not meant in a positive way.
I needed to see this tonight, as I was going through my closet.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thanks for the videos
new subbie everyone is dressed amazing. I just turned 43 y/o and we need more models in magazines in the age bracket from 40-65 y/o's.
This...👍 🌟
Could you please do more of these discussions, I love them
Thank you for your feedback. Have you visited dressingyourtruth.com? We have many more videos there.
Beautiful ladies! I love that you wear what is you! I have two daughters who totally support me wearing what I enjoy and I want them to have that attitude as they get older. Thank you for the encouraging video!
Hello, this is Liz with Carol's support team. Thank you for you comment!
I've been looking for something like that for awhile. You ladies remind me of myself. I'm classy with an edge, especially you Carol. I would day that you are really the ideal image for me. I am 63 years young and am in the process of redefining my style after many years in the work place. Thank you, I have subscribed and will be watching the typing video!!!TFS!!!
if my teenage daughter buys it, it's too young for me. But if she's borrowing something I own, it's not.
I remember us being very amused by our lady biology teacher in the mid-80s, who from one day to the next, no matter the weather, changed from winter to spring outfits, all of a sudden she was wearing pastel dress suits when the week before she had been wearing darks! :-)
Went by the calendar.
Perhaps a type four? :-)
And I also remember noticing that many people are used to have long hair when they were younger but they were older now and I’ll head short hair. And I found that such a pity. And I vowed to myself that I would have longer hair when I was older.
And I have. I am now 52 and I’m debating of my next haircut will be like, now as a T1... might be shorter, and if that fits that’s fine! :-)
Yes, it's more what would be good for your Type personally.
I went through an awkward stage in my 40s of 'how am I supposed to dress now that I'm older?' now in my 50s I think I dress better than I ever have, better makeup too and feel great:)
Wow, they all look young but I thought Michelle was in her 30's
I am 46. I have purple hair. I don't care what other people think. I wear what makes. even feel good. I wear more jewelry and color now than what I ever did before.
great, keep with it, i am 58 and look and dress years younger
A woman have the right to.dress like she want no matter her age ! 👌
Love this so much! Our family of 3 generations are big into DYT, but my mom is still stuck in her ideas that she can't do this or she can't do that because of her age. She's a type 4/3 and is wearing her hair and clothes more like a 2 or 3. Can someone from DYT PLEASE give her a makeover?!!!
Has she watched the course? Have her start there and show her this video!
Hi Carol have you ever thought about offering clothing subscription boxes for each type of beauty? I love clothing subscription boxes but those that offer boxes send the wrong items for my type of beauty. Whoever offers this service will do very well financially as well as give beautiful selections for their customers. I am a type 4 and know how to pick items, however, I am not one to actually go shopping especially during these terrible times with covid. If I had a dressing your truth stylist who would send me items for my type it would be wonderful! There are a lot of women who love clothing subscription boxes and this is a great business to be in now. Wish I lived near you then I would help you take this project on. :) Thanks for all your knowledge. I appreciate it.
We won't be doing a clothing subscription option, but we do have Style Inspire in my Lifestyle content at dressingyourtruth.com/lifestyle. We have 2 boards that come out weekly for each Type from common stores so you can purchase them.
Carol, I love your camo jacket!! May I ask where you got it?
I still struggle with identifying “my true self”. I gravitate to fun bright colors on impulse and then only dress in “safe, classic”.
I want to learn how to feel good with my size and age as I approach my 60th year of life. I want to look more dramatic, stylish and put together. I am so glad I wandered on to this panel discussion. Now to find out the definition of “types”
I'm 64 years young. I'm pretty sure I'm a T2/s4, and I love discovering things about myself. What I love to wear, doesn't always fit a T2 or s4, but they look good, I feel good in the colours, so I have been pondering whether I am, after all, a T2/s4. Possibly any of the other types could work for me, I'm thinking. :D
You will look best in your Types of colors. Please email my support team at support@dressingyourtruth.com for more assistance.
@@CarolTuttleVideos Thank you Carol.
I say wear what makes you feel fabulous at any age!
correct mary, these ageist fools will be our age soon enough and then they will think the same way we do, HIPPOCRITE'S!!
All those ladies look great, and really define their own style! Although ripped jeans may be "trendy", I heard somewhere that wearing them mocks the poor, so I'd never wear them myself. I think clothes that fit well and are coordinated with each other look best at any age. I'm over 60, and am about 6 months in to letting my hair go gray. I think silver hair looks great on many women! Love to wear red and be sassy!
Love it... April is a type 1... same as me :)
How long have your been Dressing Your Truth?

Oh to be in my 50s again. At 73 i still feel like 20 when i wear my long skinny jeans. I am 5ft 10 so long legs look good. Its the middle that need the camouflage with a good hip jacket and accessory. Love colorful scarves for pattern. Wish i could still wear boots with a heel, but i have arthritis so its now colorful walking shoes. Yes to the tatoos, too. Great show!
Hi Carol - I have watched your "Dressing Your Truth", over and over and over. I have finally pointed it down to Type 2 and Type 3. However, not sure how these two types can work together. Would love a reply. Ashwina
Is your dominant a Type 2 and secondary a Type 3? I have a lot of content about this combination in my Lifestyle content at dressingyourtruth.com/lifestyle.

Sheryl! Looking great. So inspiring.
Excellent!!

I'm 57 and it shocks me. I don't think I look that old, don't have any wrinkles yet, due to good genes. My mum and aunt were wrinkle free until early 80s. I don't follow trends, but I love maxi dresses, and jackets. My hair is like yours, I wear what makes me feel good for me, and will continue to. Thanks for this. New sub. And you look fabulous!

I love what everyone is wearing. I wear what i like and careless what others think. I need that lady hat.
I wear shorts and jeans or tshirt all year. It'll be an upgrade to develop beyond that. Wish I had the female friends to hang out and experiment with it, but I've always been a non-fashion geek.
Carol, you look fabulous!!! Love your outfit!!
I think it helps if you dress to your personality. You also need to follow through your style with hair, makeup and accessories so you can carry it off.
I love Carol's camo jacket! I'm 60 and I love classic style, edgy styles and T3 colors. I want burgundy hair too.
How long have you known your Type?
@@CarolTuttleVideos since about 4 months ago when you told me I'd reverse typed myself! I went years as a t4.
The type 3 here looks amazing in her little longer swingning locks. And the amazing (dark grape?) leather jacket!! Suppose, however, that women with a little "hanging" downturned face feature might get those features more visible and protruding wearing their hair like that.
We are told to wear polyester and no skinny Jean's. I still wrestle w no tears rips in my Jean's. I watch old interviews w Farrah Fawcett in her 50s and she wore rips and bleached out Jean's and she looked fabulous. I do wear a short edgy hairstyle and Iet it go gray. And ppl will ask why and that I'm too young for gray at 51. But why? Why cant we do what wewant?

You are great,. I am 56 years old and my children are not surprised to see me to wear a white tank top maxi large white and blue flowers high heals with a large brim hat. Ps I drive a grey convertible mustang. I feel great. I feel great. Had 2 open heart surgery. Nothing is going to stop me to feel young. Go girls,
Age shaming in women but not in men.
Let's change that stereotype and dress our truth and own our age and beauty.
You ladies look great age is just a number. Wear what you feel comfortable in. I set my own style of dressing i just like to look nice neat tidy and feel great i am in my 50s. Thank you ladies very informative. 👍♥️
I love the maroon look, black skirt & Carol Tuttle's look..
They look great. I would love to dress my truth but am worried about sweating outbursts that come with age. Because of that I tend to wear clothes that won't show sweat so it often ends up being black or white colours....
Hey!!Frankly I Love Y'all I'm almost 61 and I dig it..Especially the camo jacket and I'm 5ft entirely too cherry and break every fashion rule They say don't duo.Irs hard enough to find clothes to fit me this shirt and chesty.Wear what you want....I could fly it because I was a singer Now it's because I'm me!
Way to go! I never want to be frumpy! I do remember when I was growing up that anyone married and /or over 30 had to wear the matronly, dowdy "uniform". I'm so glad we've grown past all that and can dress youthfully while still looking appropriate. It's also important to stay in reasonably good shape and pay attention to grooming, hair & skin care. If I ever stop caring, just shoot me! 😀
I love all their outfits
Classy...Sassy...& sometimes lil "Bad-assy"....age is just a number...Be true to YOU! :)
Hi Vicki, this is Liz with Carol's support team. Thank you for your comment and for your support. Have a beautiful day!
I don't know where to post this question, so it is here now... Do you see that certain Types are more likely to ADHD than others.. I am thinking Type 1 and Type 3, as I can't picture 2 and 4 , but would love your input :) Newly typed at 3 :)
I have a video here: my.liveyourtruth.com/dyt/how-add-adhd-affect-your-energy-type/?referring_block=tie-block_
I'm 55 & I cut my hair & stopped wearing skorts( skirt/shorts combo). My hemline ,hair length & graphic t-shirts are about the only thing I watch now.
Women today have much more freedom than previous generations and we challenge the "norm" more too. Were looking younger because we have so many more options and products available too. I'm 63 and petite and usually people think I am a good 10-15 years younger. I'm lucky to have an edgy fashion sense, wear mainly black and still shop at Forever 21!! (lolol) All you women in this video look great for your age. A few things I cannot get away with anymore is crop tops....bralettes, flower child headbands, 4 inch heels, extra eyelashes, words on T-shirts, cat knee high tights, lace bell bottoms and leather corset tops :(
Hi Scarlett, this is Liz with Carol's support team. Thank you for watching and for your comment! Have a great day!
The first and the last look great,
I’m almost 40... I really need to put away pigtails and tutus 😂
Throw away all those age-ism rules and dress your truth, not your age!
Dont know what type I am. I am 65 and dress young. I always get from younger people that I do not look in my 60s. I just take the conpliment. :-)
I have had bold purple hair for over two years now; I'm 48. In my late teens and twenties I wanted a bold underneath color like I saw on a musician, but couldn't find any. Then in my 30s the vivid colors were springing up everywhere, but I thought I was too old. Then in my 40s, I decided who cares and was ready to own it regardless of what others thought. Nonetheless, I am complimented on it almost every single time I'm out and about by all ages and walks of life. There are other choices I make I'm sure would be frowned upon, but as long as I'm dressing with modesty, I will be me. I'm a 4/1
That's great! Thank you for sharing!
I don't think I'm a type one at all - but its the only outfit I would wear on the panel.
Each person has their own style within each Type. As you figure out your dominant energy you will be able to explore your own beauty sixth sense in that Type.
Hello Alexis James, I've been married to my childhood sweetheart for 45 yrs, we have 3 grown children. We both have young spirits, I feel fun and free with dressing the way I do. I can also change into conservative dress longer skirts breast covered, Respecting the GOD HEAD INSIDE OF myself more and more
I am just enjoying my life ,retired and free to be me.. People should feel free to own themselves., understand ones self, and always be mindful of GOD
Still looking for my truth!!
All of these lovely ladies look at least ten years younger!
Dressing Your Truth will make you look your best!
Although I'm 17, I am a type 4 so I tend to dress more "mature" for my age due to the structured more sophisticated yet bold look I am drawn to. I often get mistaken as a teacher at the high school I attend, which I find entertaining. I notice when I am dressing true to my nature I feel more confident and people take me more seriously, which I really appreciate.
What am I missing? What are the "types"?
