    My hair has been thinning since early 40’s and I finally decided to stop spending money on lotions and potions to try and regrow it. I switched over to wigs and instantly looked 10 years younger! Bought my first real hair wig. Blond and Long and I love it!! I also have some short edgy styles too. Now I match my hair with what I’m wearing lol!

    I’m 51 and petite, probably look more mid 40’s and have long hair. I don’t conform to any fashion rules, I just wear what’s comfortable and looks good. I’m a casual kind of gal with tees and shorts or jeans. I do like to dress my age and not like my 17 year old daughter. I’m always looking for new ways to style myself so this video helped.

    I'll be 62 in April and absoutely adore dressing my truth! Before DYT, I was definately a frumpy dresser. But DYT helped me to see why I liked certain things and how to develop them into a style. Now, I never feel like I look bad when I go out! I also never think something is too young for me if I really like it. Thanks so much Carol fot the work you put into developing this program. It's a life changer!

    I am turning 60 this year , I am a great grand mother and I wear what ever I want -from blue jeans with rips in them to my fancy jeans that had rips in them how ever I took and sewed on my own style of cloth that I liked at that moment, I have short dresses that come just above my knees to dresses that go down to the floor , sweaters ,sweats t-shirts . I wear clothes with pictures of animals on them or big flowers of every color under the sun. I love flashy "blingy " clothes and jewelry as well as every kind of shoe you can think of from flip flops to heels , and in bright flashy colors as well. I am a wild child lol .

    Good grief I'm only 53, I do NOT consider myself old. When it was mentioned that has had to be cut short at 30 yrs old I almost choked. Bad advice from her mom. My closet is mostly filled with neutral tones and always has been but I also wear pastels and jewel tones. I also love my ripped jeans! I will never give up wearing jeans, never will I trade them for polyester with an elastic waist. Who makes these so called rules? And fyi, there's also nothing wrong with a gray cashmere sweater, it depends on what you're wearing under it.

      So a 70 year old should keep wearing body hugging Fredrick's of Hollywood mini skirts and hooker heels? Get real.
      As any woman ages she changes, her skin, hair & body so your fashion choices should adjust to these changes. These women are all still dying their hair. None of them are brave enough to embrace aging naturally with grace unlike someone like Blythe Danner, Diane Keaton, or Meryl Streep & Carmen. When I age I will do naturally.

    • @lovesdogs8616
      @lovesdogs8616 Před 7 lety +3

      There is balance involved, these ladies do not need to act smug and silly like they are. People can dress anyway they like, the rules are only for those who choose to follow them. Personally, to mock a gray cashmere sweater just shows ignorance.

    • @adeletrimble4046
      @adeletrimble4046 Před 7 lety +3

      I agree. You can go into any retirement home and take a look around. You'll see an abundance of pastels, floral patterns and little white tennies, so a couple of these gals would fit in well. I know these ladies feel great with what they're wearing, but not so sure their advice is helping anyone to look youthful!

    • @julesbjeweled7891
      @julesbjeweled7891 Před 7 lety +1

      Adele Trimble What's wrong with little white tennis shoes? I own a pair of white Keds now and I always have. There are times when sandals just won't do. If they were fine when I was 20 (which they were) they should still be fine at 53. They're usually worn with rolled up boyfriend jeans or with shorts.

    • @adeletrimble4046
      @adeletrimble4046 Před 7 lety +2

      Lol...there's nothing wrong with little white tennies! I feel everyone should wear what makes them happy and comfortable! My feet have been paying me back recently from years of wearing stylish shoes, and to my surprise, I found a pair of plain black ballet flats recently that actually feel good, and they are..... Easy Spirit brand! But I think they look pretty chic and they feel great. I just had to chuckle at the ladies (a couple) in the video who seem to be giving advice on how to look youthful, as they're wearing some pretty stereotypically older lady attire while criticizing wearing chic black or gray attire. To each their own, but no thanks! :)

    Why is it this CZcams channel is so incredibly addictive, haha! I never get sick of it. That Type 3 lady's story about the guy looking her up and down and high-fiving her was awesome! Love that soft olive of Carol's pants with the soft brown shoes. Those are the sorta colors, and low contrast, I look best in. I consider myself "Soft Autumn" in other systems, which seems to be the equivalent of a type 3/2, kinda like Anne Marie Gianni was called a softer or gentler type of type 3 in her makeover.

    Thanks for that encouraging video again. I'm a 58 year old type one, secondary two, and I love to dress my own style, mostly completely in disaccordance to my surroundings who expect black for my ageç I can see how I shine more when I'm dressing light, shining, sometimes sparkling clothes, which always have to be very comfortable and convenient supporting my secondary energy. My daughter who is 21 and a type two, secondary three, grew up with DYT knowledge in her teens. She naturally prefers soft tones and cozy materials, sometimes with a tone-in-tone texture due to her secondary. She, being a third of my age dresses calmed down and looks beautiful. Me, turning 60 in one and a half years, l love lively and shiny colours and things and that makes me look my best.

    I remember us being very amused by our lady biology teacher in the mid-80s, who from one day to the next, no matter the weather, changed from winter to spring outfits, all of a sudden she was wearing pastel dress suits when the week before she had been wearing darks! :-)
    Went by the calendar.
    Perhaps a type four? :-)
    And I also remember noticing that many people are used to have long hair when they were younger but they were older now and I’ll head short hair. And I found that such a pity. And I vowed to myself that I would have longer hair when I was older.
    And I have. I am now 52 and I’m debating of my next haircut will be like, now as a T1... might be shorter, and if that fits that’s fine! :-)

    Hi Carol have you ever thought about offering clothing subscription boxes for each type of beauty? I love clothing subscription boxes but those that offer boxes send the wrong items for my type of beauty. Whoever offers this service will do very well financially as well as give beautiful selections for their customers. I am a type 4 and know how to pick items, however, I am not one to actually go shopping especially during these terrible times with covid. If I had a dressing your truth stylist who would send me items for my type it would be wonderful! There are a lot of women who love clothing subscription boxes and this is a great business to be in now. I still struggle with identifying “my true self”. I gravitate to fun bright colors on impulse and then only dress in “safe, classic”.
    I want to learn how to feel good with my size and age as I approach my 60th year of life. I want to look more dramatic, stylish and put together. I am so glad I wandered on to this panel discussion. Now to find out the definition of “types”

    I'm 64 years young. I'm pretty sure I'm a T2/s4, and I love discovering things about myself. What I love to wear, doesn't always fit a T2 or s4, but they look good, I feel good in the colours, so I have been pondering whether I am, after all, a T2/s4. Possibly any of the other types could work for me, I'm thinking. :D

    All those ladies look great, and really define their own style! Although ripped jeans may be "trendy", I heard somewhere that wearing them mocks the poor, so I'd never wear them myself. I think clothes that fit well and are coordinated with each other look best at any age. I'm over 60, and am about 6 months in to letting my hair go gray. I think silver hair looks great on many women! Love to wear red and be sassy!

Its the middle that need the camouflage with a good hip jacket and accessory. Love colorful scarves for pattern. Wish i could still wear boots with a heel, but i have arthritis so its now colorful walking shoes. Yes to the tatoos, too. Great show!

I'm so glad we've grown past all that and can dress youthfully while still looking appropriate. It's also important to stay in reasonably good shape and pay attention to grooming, hair & skin care. If I ever stop caring, just shoot me! 😀

    Women today have much more freedom than previous generations and we challenge the "norm" more too. Were looking younger because we have so many more options and products available too. I'm 63 and petite and usually people think I am a good 10-15 years younger. I'm lucky to have an edgy fashion sense, wear mainly black and still shop at Forever 21!! (lolol) All you women in this video look great for your age. A few things I cannot get away with anymore is crop tops....bralettes, flower child headbands, 4 inch heels, extra eyelashes, words on T-shirts, cat knee high tights, lace bell bottoms and leather corset tops :(

    I have had bold purple hair for over two years now; I'm 48. In my late teens and twenties I wanted a bold underneath color like I saw on a musician, but couldn't find any. Then in my 30s the vivid colors were springing up everywhere, but I thought I was too old. Then in my 40s, I decided who cares and was ready to own it regardless of what others thought. Nonetheless, I am complimented on it almost every single time I'm out and about by all ages and walks of life. There are other choices I make I'm sure would be frowned upon, but as long as I'm dressing with modesty, I will be me. I'm a 4/1

    Although I'm 17, I am a type 4 so I tend to dress more "mature" for my age due to the structured more sophisticated yet bold look I am drawn to. I often get mistaken as a teacher at the high school I attend, which I find entertaining. I notice when I am dressing true to my nature I feel more confident and people take me more seriously, which I really appreciate.
