    Cool observations. I honestly don't think I would think Carol looked bad or unattractive at all if I saw her in any of these looks, she is a nice looking woman. When they are compared side-by-side, the differences are noticeable and it makes sense.

    Thank you so much, Carol, for undergoing this process again! An interesting thing for me was that, in each of your non-truthful outfits, not only your expression and energy-level suffer, but (to my eye) you also looked larger, almost bloated - your body wasn't the slim, strong, elegant, healthy woman I'm used to seeing when you're in your usual gorgeous Type 3 garb. And when you were dressed as a Type 4, you reminded me of the women I see every day as a New Yorker, where black is practically a uniform, but it doesn't suit the energy movement of 75% of the women who are wearing it. And I felt so relieved when you got back into your own style - it was like watching someone be freed from oppression! I think you're very brave!

    Carol I can't tell you how useful that video was for me. I have been really struggling to decide on my Type - had pretty much got it down to 3 but still had some doubts as I was initially attracted to 4, although my personality type also has much 1 - imagine being in my head :-) - however, as I watched you try the different styles, I felt the exact same feelings and words coming out. It was incredible. Now I am 90% sure I am a 3 with 4 as my secondary. Fabulous. So liberating to get there. x

One of my favorite parts was in type 4 where you said that she was an attractive woman and if you didn't know your own type that you would try to mimic it. This is mindblowing !! You look so beautiful, and YOURSELF, dressed up and made up in your type 💃 . I got your Lifestyle membership yesterday, and have been BINGING your content, haha ! 😄 I think I'm a Type 1 with a secondary Type 4, but who has been taught to be a Type 2 (which is why i definitely resonate with it, everyone tells me I look so calm and soft, yet the Type 2 clothing make me "uuuughhh" just looking at them). I'm quite drawn to the Type 3 style, though 😃I love how DYT is making me understand so many things about myself, about my past. I've been an on/off youtuber for years, and I see (or at least, I think) that my old videos are definitely Type 1 energy, whereas my new ones are more Type 2. Which is very interesting, because depression and loss of self esteem happened in the meantime. And I love the soft vibe, but now I wonder how I can bring a little bit more of my 1 self in them. Anyways, this is absolutely fascinating, and I thank you for this opportunity ! I hope I can make a nice before / after video one day ! That would be a fun project (here again, fun is my first thought, but then "complicated, daunting" come to mind, and I just want to give up. Maybe that's my secondary 4 talking 🙈😂😅) !

      @@CarolTuttleVideos Yes! I have really enjoyed watching the free tutorials, initially I thought I was type 2 because I am highly emotional and sensitive to other people's energy's plus comfort and the "feel" of a fabric is extremely important to me but I watched the videos and a lot of it didn't sync up. It wasn't until I watched the type 3 that I realized that is more me. My eyes lit up with all the beautiful fabrics and textures of the T3 cloth tutorial and I loved the energy between you and Sarah I felt like I could easily have a conversation with you two ladies comfortably. I also looked at the graph you have andT3 is spot on. I have a textured face, deep set eyes, highly angled brows with asymmetry, lots of angles in my jaw and cheeks, big movements in my gestures, walk loud and fast etc. I also love those great earthy spicy tonesn like mustard yellow, gold and army green. I would love to know there was an opportunity to communicate one on one with any of your designers or if there is a group I could join to learn more about all this, the content is very enjoyable and inspiring as well. This video has made me so aware of how much our culture -- both fashion and geographical -- misleads us in dressing our truth. I live in affluent, trendy South Florida, where Type 1 (beachy laid-back casual) and Type 4 NYC style with lots of black/white sophisticated tailoring compete every day for primacy. I feel like a chameleon who went nuts because she was put on plaid! :-) After all these years, I'm wondering if I might be a T3/4, as I felt most comfortable in my own skin seeing Carole in her authentic DYT. Whenever I have vacationed in a more natural, mountainous environment in the NE and northern CA, and put on cords, a bulky sweater and a fleece coat, I have felt fabulously real! Do I have to relocate in order to feel I am dressing my truth, because it's really hard where I am!

    • @laurenlosson2904
      @laurenlosson2904 Před 2 lety +1

      @@CarolTuttleVideos I have gone 'round and 'round for years on determining my type, so I have never "landed" at one place for long. I was re-reading "Just My Nature" today at lunch, and when I am relaxed and not obsessing about something, I come home to Type 2. One of my favorite phrases is from the famous architect who said, "God is in the details." A very T2 affirmation! I find myself not wanting to commit for fear I am wrong, so I keep seeking more and more information in true T2 style. I joined the LYT FB group, but repeatedly opted out because I felt overwhelmed by all the feedback and socialization. For me, it became exhausting instead of supportive (and that's not a criticism of the connection these pages provide!) I just felt more confused and said to myself, "With enough information [sic], you'll figure this out in time." All I know is, when I feel forced, either by external pressure or internal guilt, to extravert too much in a prescribed way, I lose my "flow state" and then I crash-and-burn and can't be available to my spiritual directees in an open, loving, and non-judgmental way.

    Wow, this got progressively worse. Each time I thought it was bad, the next type was even worse for you! Michelle was right, you looked so upset in the type 2, as if you were about to cry the whole time. The type 1 was just...not right...but the type 4 was awful! I'm sorry, but wow, that was bad. The worst part is that this is the type of look that everyone thinks is going to make them look stylish, fashionable. I used to think that, and every time I tried it, I ended up looking ridiculous! I figured oh well, I'm not the glamorous type anyway, got rid of the makeup, and went back to my jeans and tshirt. Every once in a while I would try again, with similar results. It didn't help that someone once told me, since I have brown eyes and brown hair, that I am an "Autumn", so I was basically wearing type 3 makeup with my type 4 outfits, and having no idea why it wasn't working. Little did I know then, I am a type 2! It makes a HUGE difference and I am so grateful to know my type. Thank you!

      @@CarolTuttleVideos With your helpful explanations I believe I'm a type 4. It has helped me to understand myself better. I think my secondary is a strong 3 - probably greater than 20% which could be "messing with me," as you said in one video! I need to reflect more on that. On another topic, may I offer a content strategy suggestion... it may be helpful to have a CZcams channel called "Dressing Your Truth" as a secondary place to upload just your personal styling videos, and perhaps a separate "Living Your Truth" channel for the other personal growth videos, maybe even a third channel for the healing videos, another for the parenting videos, etc. You have a wide variety of content for one channel, and this would diversify it to appeal to different audiences. It may be a strategy to increase traffic and boost exposure for your older material by republishing on fresh channels. Of course you could cross-link all of them as well.

    I was thinking as i was watching the video what would it be like if you maintained your own type 3 energy Carol while wearing the type 2 energy on your body. This too would be incongruent...rather than matching your energy along with the clothing. If i was someone that did not know about DYT i would not really see that you are "off" in what you are wearing.

    Great video. Carol I don't think you looked that awful in t1 just seemed the wrong color with skin color and texture & style . T2 you looked soft but uncomfortable. The top looked better on you than the skirt. T4 was harsh not your usual edgy striking style. You do look like a model in 4. Yet your beauty, heart and soul seem to come alive in t3. You rock a 3. 💃

    I think that you look beautiful in every outfit - if people don't know you. But, it's obviously not what's most important. My least favorite look on you was Type 4 - because it was too rigid for your energy and the Type 1 makeup didn't flow with your face. Love you in your Type 3 look! :)

But now, I think I'm a T1/S4 & that's why I thought I was a T3/S4 :( It's hard to know b/c I had an older brother who used to rough me up & I was shy around strangers & bossy people (but there are many, many times I will be very aggressive w/ nasty people) but I'm not an easygoing person. When I feel comfortable I become a clown. I'm also a nerd, goody-two shoes lol But I can also be kind and sassy How can we know for sure? I'm still working on the book. I connect with T3/S4. I'm super friendly and love to joke around so I thought maybe I'm a T1, but I'm nowhere near light and cheery. I'm a caring person who loves tutoring, so I thought T2, also I look about 10 yrs younger than I am. But I'm not that gentle lol and have a RBF.
      I just don't get how I can be so friendly and be a T3.
      I've settled on T3/S4 because of my asymmetrical face, sassy tendencies, always moving around and hate being told what to do lol and S4 bc I'm a big picture thinker and take things literally at times. I also sit and walk very erect, love words and editing. My nose is straight and although I have redness on my face, I have smooth skin.

    This was a great idea. What a difference! I have to say though, that the makeup is harsh in all cases... your face doesn't look natural anymore...that line of eye shadow between your eyes and your eyebrows and the line of makeup above your cheekbones is so distracting.
