Carol Tuttle, a New York Times bestselling author of six books, with an extensive background in helping millions of people heal and create lives they love.
Can't even explain in a short note how this has helped me and changed my life. Now at 52 I know who I am. I am type 2. Purged everything ! Not to mention how simple shopping is now and the money saved is unbelievable. No more costly mistakes. Just me🌺
Me too! It's SO AWESOME!!! I'm ecstatic!
Same here beauties. I am a type 2 with similar experience. I am glad you feel comfortable and beautiful. This makes me comfortable myself.
This is a really strong display of how effective dressing your truth is. For someone who knows very little about fashion, presentation, colours and jewellery, this was really strong illustration of achieving the difference.
Cool observations. I honestly don't think I would think Carol looked bad or unattractive at all if I saw her in any of these looks, she is a nice looking woman. When they are compared side-by-side, the differences are noticeable and it makes sense.
type 1: Marci is so adorable but Carol just looked like a crazy lady lol
type 2: I actually yawned. it was like the energy was being drained from me trying to watch Carol
type 4: You look like the abrasive gossipy lady people try to avoid at every office.
Thank you so much, Carol, for undergoing this process again! An interesting thing for me was that, in each of your non-truthful outfits, not only your expression and energy-level suffer, but (to my eye) you also looked larger, almost bloated - your body wasn't the slim, strong, elegant, healthy woman I'm used to seeing when you're in your usual gorgeous Type 3 garb. And when you were dressed as a Type 4, you reminded me of the women I see every day as a New Yorker, where black is practically a uniform, but it doesn't suit the energy movement of 75% of the women who are wearing it. And I felt so relieved when you got back into your own style - it was like watching someone be freed from oppression! I think you're very brave!
Wow! Carol DEFINITELY looks the best in type 3 clothes!
The Type 4 is so intense. Stripes were so fashionable when you made this video. I had lots and finally gave them all away and bought clothes in my Type 1 colours and shapes!!
wow
A picture is worth millions of words!
What an amazing visual of the TYPES!
such an amazing concept you have hit upon Carol this is really amazing.
Carol I can't tell you how useful that video was for me. I have been really struggling to decide on my Type - had pretty much got it down to 3 but still had some doubts as I was initially attracted to 4, although my personality type also has much 1 - imagine being in my head :-) - however, as I watched you try the different styles, I felt the exact same feelings and words coming out. It was incredible. Now I am 90% sure I am a 3 with 4 as my secondary. Fabulous. So liberating to get there. x
Have you taken the course at dressingyourtruth.com?
could you do videos that show each type and then what it would look like with the different secondary types? dress like a 1 then change that look to a 1/2, 1/3 and so on.
This is so interesting. I tryed to immediately say to myself what I thought about these clothes on you before you spoke.
i got it right evert time. Your info has been popping up on my screen for several years. I am finallly getting it.
Thank you for not forgetting me. I need this so much and i am finally happy I am listening. Charlotte
Carol, it was so hard to look at you in these outfits! I could feel the energy draining down. thank you for this great demonstration :)
This is just fantastic. Each of you look truly stunning in your own type. My jaw dropped for Marci in particular, as a Type 1 ... With your energy I would honestly put you 30 years younger, you really are adorable and I hope I can stay as cute as you!! Role model :) Carol thank you for this work, you are really helping women understand which aspects of femininity suit them. Such an important mission!
Omg this so crazy - complete eye opener😱. Wow I’m speechless. Why did I not find you like 20 years ago. Absolutely love love love the way you project answers that are so practical and straight up visual❤️❤️❤️❤️👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
It's never too late to find and dress your truth!
This was such a fun episode. Great idea.
You got to Type 2 and I just started laughing. Poor Carol!! A washed out Grandma. Then you got to Type 4. LOL How does a beautiful woman suddenly look like Joel Gray of Cabaret. This is a great demonstration. Welcome back, Type 3 Carol!! You nailed it.
Joel Gray of Cabaret! I so didn't think of that! lololololol

This was helpful and insightful! Thanks for demonstrating.
I'm so glad this helped you. Do you know your Type?
I used to own a jacket very similar to the one you are wearing at the beginning and the end of this video. Every time I wore it, it felt 'off' but I didn't know why as I liked the look of it. Now I realize it was the fabrication and design line. I am learning so much! Looking forward to joining lifestyle in the future. Thanks!
Great, we would love to see you in Lifestyle!
Marci does not look 70!! She is lovely!!!
Marcie is so cute! Doesn't look 70 at all. Winner.
It definitely works and it matters!
Not only does Dressing Your Truth honours your true movement and energy, and make you look good, when you're dressing your truth, it also reminds you to be true to yourself, especially during challenging times when you may retreat into your shell and hide your true nature. It reminds you to be true to yourself and that's the most authentic and empowering state.
Your own hair looks good as the Type 2!
It's didn't feel great on me though!
I absolutely love this! More motivation to figure out my type. One of my favorite parts was in type 4 where you said that she was an attractive woman and if you didn't know your own type that you would try to mimic it. THAT'S WHAT I DO!! and it's so frustrating when seeing what looks good on someone else and trying it or being told what to wear by fashion trends/hacks and it doesn't look good on yourself.

This was so much fun to watch!
Thank you for watching!
This is mindblowing !! You look so beautiful, and YOURSELF, dressed up and made up in your type 💃 . I got your Lifestyle membership yesterday, and have been BINGING your content, haha ! 😄 I think I'm a Type 1 with a secondary Type 4, but who has been taught to be a Type 2 (which is why i definitely resonate with it, everyone tells me I look so calm and soft, yet the Type 2 clothing make me "uuuughhh" just looking at them). I'm quite drawn to the Type 3 style, though 😃I love how DYT is making me understand so many things about myself, about my past. I've been an on/off youtuber for years, and I see (or at least, I think) that my old videos are definitely Type 1 energy, whereas my new ones are more Type 2. Which is very interesting, because depression and loss of self esteem happened in the meantime. And I love the soft vibe, but now I wonder how I can bring a little bit more of my 1 self in them. Anyways, this is absolutely fascinating, and I thank you for this opportunity ! I hope I can make a nice before / after video one day ! That would be a fun project (here again, fun is my first thought, but then "complicated, daunting" come to mind, and I just want to give up. Maybe that's my secondary 4 talking 🙈😂😅) !
That's so great that you have determined your Type! It will become even better as you continue to learn and grow as your trueself.
I get what you're saying about how clothes make you feel and then how you act.
This is a really dramatic example of how well these work when people dress their personality and then they do not. Amazing
I thought it was fascinating to see her actual body language change especially with Type 2 her shoulders were actually slouching and she looked as if she was sinking in the chair, a poor sight to behold, I have loved every outfit she has worn as a type 3 and I am fairly certain that may be my type. This vid was so eyeopening to how out appearance really affects our confidence and expressions 💖
Thank you for watching and commenting. Have you taken the course at dressingyourtruth.com?
@@CarolTuttleVideos Yes! I have really enjoyed watching the free tutorials, initially I thought I was type 2 because I am highly emotional and sensitive to other people's energy's plus comfort and the "feel" of a fabric is extremely important to me but I watched the videos and a lot of it didn't sync up. It wasn't until I watched the type 3 that I realized that is more me. My eyes lit up with all the beautiful fabrics and textures of the T3 cloth tutorial and I loved the energy between you and Sarah I felt like I could easily have a conversation with you two ladies comfortably. I also looked at the graph you have andT3 is spot on. I have a textured face, deep set eyes, highly angled brows with asymmetry, lots of angles in my jaw and cheeks, big movements in my gestures, walk loud and fast etc. I also love those great earthy spicy tonesn like mustard yellow, gold and army green. I would love to know there was an opportunity to communicate one on one with any of your designers or if there is a group I could join to learn more about all this, the content is very enjoyable and inspiring as well. Thank you for sharing it 🧡
Oh wow, wow wow! This is incredible. The point you make with this video is just mindblowing!!! Type 1 made me feel all swirly, you looked so sad. Then in Type 2, you looked drained and a bit ill. And Type 4....nooooo those colours and lines fry all your spunk and power! You don't look like you! Put on those Type 3 colours and never take them off ;)
Great experiment!
What an awesome video!! Thank you Carol for showing yourself in such unflattering styles to prove a point. You should use this in your advertising. This certainly has convinced me that DYT makes a difference both inside and out.
I'm glad this helped you. What Type are you?
@@CarolTuttleVideos I THINK I’m a T3
Thanks for introducing this to.me Carol. You helped change my life.
I screenshot all 4 looks and asked my husband (who doesn’t know your philosophy) which look makes you look the best (most comfortable and confident) and he chose your type 3 look. This was so cool to see someone who doesn’t know your system see what you have been saying. Thanks for all your insight.
You're welcome!
This video is so helpful!! Martin short is who came to mind when you did Type 4. 😂. You’re amazing, and what a champ to do this!!
Hello, this is Liz with Carol's support team. We are so glad you enjoyed this video. It is very eye opening. Have a beautiful day!
Carol Tuttle...hello Liz, thanks for your comment! I’m pretty confident that I’m a type 3. Although I like my jewelry to be chunky, I don’t like all the “ornateness” of the patterns in type 3 jewelry. I tend to have more hoop or circle earrings & circle necklaces or dangle earrings. I wonder why? Thank you!
Some of Carol's commentary cracks me up.😆 When she said it looks like I'm cross dressing. It's true that she looks best in her own type. I'm a 2/1 and tired of the idea that only 3 is stylish! Not on everyone!
Good for you. How long have you known your Type?
Very interesting Carol :) very powerful
This has helped me clarify I am Type 1. I think I have been dressing type 4 but it wasn't working. Felt like copying at style.
This is awesome content!!!! Thank u... thank u... Thank u!!!!!
That black and white shirt at 12:40 blew me away!
So, so glad, I found my type through you!! 🎉❤
I'm so glad!
Great video!
This video has made me so aware of how much our culture -- both fashion and geographical -- misleads us in dressing our truth. I live in affluent, trendy South Florida, where Type 1 (beachy laid-back casual) and Type 4 NYC style with lots of black/white sophisticated tailoring compete every day for primacy. I feel like a chameleon who went nuts because she was put on plaid! :-) After all these years, I'm wondering if I might be a T3/4, as I felt most comfortable in my own skin seeing Carole in her authentic DYT. Whenever I have vacationed in a more natural, mountainous environment in the NE and northern CA, and put on cords, a bulky sweater and a fleece coat, I have felt fabulously real! Do I have to relocate in order to feel I am dressing my truth, because it's really hard where I am!
How did you determine your Type?
@@CarolTuttleVideos I have gone 'round and 'round for years on determining my type, so I have never "landed" at one place for long. I was re-reading "Just My Nature" today at lunch, and when I am relaxed and not obsessing about something, I come home to Type 2. One of my favorite phrases is from the famous architect who said, "God is in the details." A very T2 affirmation! I find myself not wanting to commit for fear I am wrong, so I keep seeking more and more information in true T2 style. I joined the LYT FB group, but repeatedly opted out because I felt overwhelmed by all the feedback and socialization. For me, it became exhausting instead of supportive (and that's not a criticism of the connection these pages provide!) I just felt more confused and said to myself, "With enough information [sic], you'll figure this out in time." All I know is, when I feel forced, either by external pressure or internal guilt, to extravert too much in a prescribed way, I lose my "flow state" and then I crash-and-burn and can't be available to my spiritual directees in an open, loving, and non-judgmental way.
I find that when I dress 4 I am FREE to be mY 1 self
rather then feeling like I HAVE to be or expected to.
Yes, when you dress your truth, you will be seen for who you are.
@@CarolTuttleVideos this is amazing.
It’s like I’m back to mY 20 year

Loved this video! I've been dressing my truth for over 3 years now and I feel amazing! Your course changed my life forever. I bought a Type 1 course for me, a Type 3 course for my daughter, and a Men's Course, Type 3 for my husband. Now, our entire family of 7 dress our truth, daily, and we love it! It has helped us to understand one another on so many levels and we honor one another's energies and the energies of others now. Your teachings have improved and changed our lives and we share this information with all of our friends, family, and anyone else who will listen and is ready. I just wish more people knew about your courses and would take the EASY steps to changing their lives. What a gift you've been given to know and understand this, Carol. And thank you so much for teaching us. It has also helped to learn my secondary energy, which is Type 2. Life just makes so much more sense for me. You're the best!
Wow, that really is impressive! I feel like a Type 1, but with a bit of a Type 2 - but looking like a clown or a puppet is really not what I want! So, probably I need to stick with your programme!
This is a surprising demo.
Super great - so informative
But I must admit, it made me😂
You looked so unreal with wrong outfit
Thank you❣️
The most powerful dyt video!
Thank you for watching!
BRAVO !!!
Wow, this got progressively worse. Each time I thought it was bad, the next type was even worse for you! Michelle was right, you looked so upset in the type 2, as if you were about to cry the whole time. The type 1 was just...not right...but the type 4 was awful! I'm sorry, but wow, that was bad. The worst part is that this is the type of look that everyone thinks is going to make them look stylish, fashionable. I used to think that, and every time I tried it, I ended up looking ridiculous! I figured oh well, I'm not the glamorous type anyway, got rid of the makeup, and went back to my jeans and tshirt. Every once in a while I would try again, with similar results. It didn't help that someone once told me, since I have brown eyes and brown hair, that I am an "Autumn", so I was basically wearing type 3 makeup with my type 4 outfits, and having no idea why it wasn't working. Little did I know then, I am a type 2! It makes a HUGE difference and I am so grateful to know my type. Thank you!
I actually was writing more, but had to edit because apparently there is a limit to comment lengths here, that is not conducive to my type 2 nature of wanting to tell you every little detail....so that will have to do. :D
I wish there was a seasonal guide for each type. What colors should a (type 1) wear in colder months?
This video was amazing!
Thank you for watching! What Type are you?
@@CarolTuttleVideos With your helpful explanations I believe I'm a type 4. It has helped me to understand myself better. I think my secondary is a strong 3 - probably greater than 20% which could be "messing with me," as you said in one video! I need to reflect more on that. On another topic, may I offer a content strategy suggestion... it may be helpful to have a CZcams channel called "Dressing Your Truth" as a secondary place to upload just your personal styling videos, and perhaps a separate "Living Your Truth" channel for the other personal growth videos, maybe even a third channel for the healing videos, another for the parenting videos, etc. You have a wide variety of content for one channel, and this would diversify it to appeal to different audiences. It may be a strategy to increase traffic and boost exposure for your older material by republishing on fresh channels. Of course you could cross-link all of them as well.
And you are so freaking funny yet point on. Love it.
Do you know your Type?
@@CarolTuttleVideos I thought I was a one since I’m very animated when I express myself but per the quiz I turned out 3 and I kinda liked that coz that’s close to my style❤️

I love the type 4 outfit ❤️
Are you a Type 4?
I just about died laughing🤣🤣🤣
Do you know what Type you are?
Oh my God, Carol! This video is amazingly useful! In type 1 you looked crazy, like a clown. In type 2 you seem manly and older. In type 4 you seem mischivious, like Cruella de Vil. I've lived these three sensations in my life while I tried to be 'feminine', to soften my nature using the make up I saw in the advertisements, but the results were horrible, so I gave up. Now, thanks to your free beginner's guide, I understand why: I'm not 'wrong', I'm just a type 3!! Oh what a relief: I can start to love myself!!! That's great!!
I'm glad this was supportive! It's a blessing to know and honor your true nature.
Eee! That type 4 shocked me!
It's amazing to see the difference!
woah, this was wild! What a fantastic idea! I still think type 2 was worse than type 4...type 4 you looked like Annie Lennox & should have been in one of her videos from the 80s, even though it's not 80s makeup/look. totally wild how this works :)
It was wild to do it too. The energy could be felt for each outfit! What Type are you?
Utterly AMAZING! Carol aged decades in the wrong clothes!
Yes, it's so important you live and dress true to your natural energy!
This was a great 👍 exercise
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Interesting to even see how her smile changed in each different outfit and lack of expression in type 4.
It really had an effect on how I felt. It's such a blessing to be able to know and dress our truth!
I was thinking as i was watching the video what would it be like if you maintained your own type 3 energy Carol while wearing the type 2 energy on your body. This too would be incongruent...rather than matching your energy along with the clothing. If i was someone that did not know about DYT i would not really see that you are "off" in what you are wearing.
Right. The body language throws us off. Clothes shmolz
Could someone please send me a link to see Stephanie the type 1/2 example? Curious?
I'm having trouble trying to sign in on the site. It keeps booting me out. Can someone help please
Great video. Carol I don't think you looked that awful in t1 just seemed the wrong color with skin color and texture & style . T2 you looked soft but uncomfortable. The top looked better on you than the skirt. T4 was harsh not your usual edgy striking style. You do look like a model in 4. Yet your beauty, heart and soul seem to come alive in t3. You rock a 3. 💃
Thank you for watching. The only one that felt like me is Type 3. It's great to know who you are.
Another interesting photo for this video would be one of you in the lineup with the other three women dressing their truth as well.

I think that you look beautiful in every outfit - if people don't know you. But, it's obviously not what's most important. My least favorite look on you was Type 4 - because it was too rigid for your energy and the Type 1 makeup didn't flow with your face. Love you in your Type 3 look! :)
I feel best dressing my truth!
@@CarolTuttleVideos Omg Carol, :( I keep mistyping myself!!! At first I said Type 4! Then I said Type 3 for sure! But now, I think I'm a T1/S4 & that's why I thought I was a T3/S4 :( It's hard to know b/c I had an older brother who used to rough me up & I was shy around strangers & bossy people (but there are many, many times I will be very aggressive w/ nasty people) but I'm not an easygoing person. When I feel comfortable I become a clown. I'm also a nerd, goody-two shoes lol But I can also be kind and sassy How can we know for sure? I keep looking at my photos trying to figure out which type I am. lol
@@icanrelate Have you taken the free course at dressingyourtruth.com or read my book It's Just my Nature? I go into more detail there.
I'm still working on the book. I connect with T3/S4. I'm super friendly and love to joke around so I thought maybe I'm a T1, but I'm nowhere near light and cheery. I'm a caring person who loves tutoring, so I thought T2, also I look about 10 yrs younger than I am. But I'm not that gentle lol and have a RBF.
I just don't get how I can be so friendly and be a T3.
I've settled on T3/S4 because of my asymmetrical face, sassy tendencies, always moving around and hate being told what to do lol and S4 bc I'm a big picture thinker and take things literally at times. I also sit and walk very erect, love words and editing. My nose is straight and although I have redness on my face, I have smooth skin.
Number one reminded me of Betty White
Interesting. I felt very silly in the Type 1 outfit and makeup. I love knowing my true Type.

type 2: beatiful but drained
type 4: just wrong!

This was a great idea. What a difference!
