As a rule I don’t like to comment on people’s appearance as I think there is so much more to a person than that, however, there has been such a change in you and your look that it has been amazing to watch. It’s seems that your clothes now match your personality which was always there but slightly hidden. It is so lovely to see this epiphany and the results! You have to do what you can do and so I can completely see how you adapted to get by- I think it happens when you first have a baby too. Diane, the new hairstyle makes you look ten years younger. I am not familiar with "Dressing Your Truth," but the cosmetic coloring that you received while on vacation makes golden hues excellent color choices for you. I am a big fan of yours. You look fabulous, Diane. I am a type 1...found this out about a year ago. What you say about type 4 and crisis response rings true, also. Now I have a better understanding of why I love being organized & structured. At times I think I've scared myself by being too animated, silly, and letting go. I had to pull myself back years ago, because I was a city finance director and tax payers expected their finance person to be serious. Really funny! Thank you so much for introducing me to Dressing Your Truth ( through your videos). Although I have only watched the free videos, I quickly determined that I am a type 2. Yes, it is exciting - just the way I also felt when I discovered Flylady a few years ago. It's put the wind in my sails. Like you I was concerned about changing the colour of my jewellery. I've always worn gold, which I love and I haven't worn silver since my teens! Now I wear silver -and it's really growing on me. I'm having great fun buying new trinkets and decluttering clothes that don't fit with my type. :)
Yeah, I was right! I'm new to your channel, but have been exploring DYT for over a year and knew right away that you were a T1! You are so bubbly and fun. You have the sparkling eyes and a penchant for polka dots! I thought I was a T4 initially, too, because I cling to my routines and plans. But it didn't feel quite right. As Carol says, when you find your truth you don't have to do any but be yourself! It is so freeing. Like your good friend, I am a T2. Knowing this has helped me not only in my clothing choices, but in my relationships and daily living as well. I look forward to seeing how you add this knowledge to your life.

Hi Diane, Many years ago my mother and I had our "colours" done. It involves choosing colours (categorised as summer-winter-spring-autumn) that are best suited to your skintone. Summer and Winters (me) are supposed to wear silver jewellery while spring (mum) and autumns suit gold. My husband (who doesn't like silver) bought me a gold engagement ring (not white gold which was supposed have suited my skin better) but as time has gone on, I realise that ROSE gold is my jewellery colour (although I do incorporate some silver) I also worked as a jeweller for some years. The point of all the above is this ... I've learned that we should really just wear what makes you happy. Especially with something so personal as jewellery. if you shouldn't wear silver but you LOVE it then wear the silver! I'm not sure how DYT really can specify that a personality type should stick to a colour of jewellery, I know from experience that skintone does play a huge part in what colour jewellery you should wear but also what brings you joy is The major consideration. Hi Lisa Maree! Yes, I also had my colours done by CMB years ago...I was a Light Spring and could wear both silver and gold. Gold was actually my preference many years ago so it's funny being able to fall in love with it again 😃
I've been thinking the same thing ~ our hair/eyes/skin are a greater indicator of what looks best on us. And if we *love* it, then it's a winner! As we age, (mature), our lifestyle will go through changes, as will our taste. But at the same time, we have to be aware of the changes and sometimes we need those pointed out. (The 50+ year old who is still trying to look/dress like she's 20🙄.) I found I've become very confident in what I like, and am no longer swayed by outside influences, so I don't think I'd be a good candidate for DYT. I adore Diane, and have always admired her summer dresses, and love seeing her excitement and her lovely new hairstyle, so this is obviously just what the doctor ordered.
Hi Diane! I've been a subscriber for about a year or so and just love your channel. One of the things that I've so enjoyed besides the encouragement with FlyLady is your incredible sense of style. I could see doing this system if you need help with fashion, but you are so unique and fashion forward, that this book and its rules seem rigid and confusing to me. If you love silver...wear silver. Don't let some combination of numbers put you, your beauty, and your incredible sense of style in a box. You are one of a kind and I for one love and appreciate that about you. And your new hair style is FABULOUS!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this!! I have so much clarity on my style and it explains as a Type 2 why I’m OBSESSED with comfort, paisley, and soft heathered patterned details. Thank you. Just what I needed going into fall. I’m SO READY to declutter my clothes and revamp my wardrobe with new clarity.
P.S. Ok. A day later and many hours later of thinking about my style. I am NOT in fact a 2. I am a THREE with 2 in the background. But three all the way!! I was told to calm down, be quiet, settle down, and SHUT UP! I think this hurt my feelings and I went inward into a two but I've always loved a pick of edge and punk rock. It felt foreign but I always greatly admired women that were edgy, active, dynamic, and exotic wishing I could be that way. It turns out...I AM!! I wouldn't have accepted my truth without you having introduced it to me Diane so thank you. I am a 3/2 but I'm embracing my Three nature. I have learned how to balance my strength without needing to overpower others and with my new look I'll give them a heads up as to who they're dealing with! HAHA!!! Thanks again.

I think silver looks wonderful on you, you look great in type 4 bold stuff and type 1 brights. I wonder if you can be 50/50 in both types? In the past I have watched your videos again to see your outfits and gain some inspiration for my own. You have been a great help to me, I love your necklaces and how you style them with your clothing. Love the RED a lot! You look great in contrasting colors, just my opinion, hope you the best!
Diane, I too have dabbled with DYT the frugal way (through the library). I have enjoyed building my 'new' wardrobe with my true colors, but have done it with thrifted and sale items. It has been so much fun! It also is easy to mix and match when you have colors that go so well together. I stick to gold jewelry now, also. I am a 3 but I need to find out what my secondary color is. When you know your colors it is so much easier to shop, as your eye is trained to ignore the other colors,

I needed this video today. I have the cards and see how much I have been hiding my type 1 personality with dark clothes. Slowly I am decluttering but it's hard to let go of my darks.

My story is paralleling yours quite a bit, Diane! I checked out living your truth I think just for five days ago when somebody mentioned it on a video that done the minimal mom and her sister made. Maybe their video last Sunday. And when they mentioned it in the comments I went and looked it up right away for whatever reason, and was hooked. I immediately was certain that I was a type two, a lot felt very congruent and identified with that very much and I have a lot of those colors and so on.
But I didn’t feel settled with that “diagnosis“. I could see myself in all the other types and kept watching truth bomb videos etc., and then last night I decided to really take a look at the face again, watching face profiling videos and videos on common misperceptions, and even on how to type children and babies, pulling out old photo albums and also looking through lots of selfies on my phone… It became so clear that my face says, “type 1“!! And then I had the good fortune that I mentioned that I thought I was a type one blah blah blah on one of Carol’s recent posts on the Facebook lifestyle Page, and she confirmed it! Not a truth bomb, but confirming what I was concluding. What a nice relief! So now I can look at type one things and no it’s mine. I also have tons of silver jewelry and I love earrings and necklaces etc. and right now I don’t have any earrings or rings to wear! Wow. I have one or two necklaces I can wear… If I go cold turkey :-) … It would be fun to do that and do the 30 days’ thing :-)!
After I started realizing my type and then after Carol’s confirmation, I started more and more seeing evidence of that a little bit in my wardrobe and lots in my apartment, and in my mannerisms and things that I remember about the way I’ve been or things that I’ve liked at different times etc. My type two and probably a bit of types three and four came up over the past many many many many years in most situations, and I got pretty good at functioning in the way I thought I needed to to be “successful“ and “a good person in society“. But I wasn’t shining and was kind of bored sometimes and kind of depressed sometimes and stressed a lot of the time… So it’ll be fun to let go of all of that! I am looking forward to this! I had just found you a couple of months ago. I miss you doing videos, but after reading some of the comments on here and seeing everyone is so wise that they give you advice. No reason for you to put yourself out there anymore. Most of them already figured everything out in their life and now are telling you how to do yours. Are my comments my type 3 showing or my Gun Barrel City , TX no BS raising truth? I just know you are grand. Thank you for teaching about Flylady and DYT. I am happy for you being an ice swimmer. I got free shipping through my Shop-Pay app, which also saves me having to enter all my details into every new website. They send a code to your secure phone, that’s all you need to put in your info.

Morning Diane, I hope you are enjoying the Summer. I have been taking a look at DYT since I last saw you mention it and am so glad it's not just me that's confused and 'face blind'. I cannot see any clues in my own face and/or work out what i should be from that! I have just downloaded the kindle version of Carol's book, so will have a stab at that to see if it reinforces anything to me. Glad I came across this old youtube video of yours though.
Diane I so enjoy you :) I know you don't mean to be "selling" but your joy is contagious! I did the free online profiling and found I'm a strong 3. That means getting rid of all my white and black clothes and silver jewelry. NO!!!! *LOL* I have quite a collection of sterling silver jewelry, many from our travels. Nevertheless, going forward, I'm working on steering clear of solid white and black and bringing out the few gold pieces of jewelry I have. I'll see how I feel about things as time goes by. But, as typical of a 3, I'm sooooo tempted to go all in. Such a struggle! *LOL*

Please do more videos about how you get on with DYT. About a year and half ago I did DYT and it was illuminating. I am pretty sure I am a 1/4 but was trying to so hard to be a 4 for decades and my 1 kept popping out. I am new to you and first watched a video from a year ago. I thoroughly enjoyed but in this video, post DYT, you do look 10 years younger, healthier, happier, etc. I know people say this is silly but it is something to really consider and it really hits home when you realize you have trying to be something you are not. BTW, you may want to hold onto some of the non-1 clothes for a while just to see how you want your 4 to balance with your 1. I do wear silver as much as I wear gold and am very happy with my balance.
You look fantastic and your fresh energy is really FLYing. I'm definitely a type 4 and I thought your outfits from before were adroitly assembled but kind of severe for you. Anyway, so happy for you.
Such an interesting video, thank you. I have only been watching your channel for a couple of months. Your change from Type 4 to Type 1 is stunning. I used to do colour analysis, which is similar to Dressing your Truth but named after the seasons, so from Winter to Spring. I agree with all the comments saying that you look so much younger. Isn’t it amazing the difference the right colours make - like a face lift, but no pain or financial ‘pain’?
Also, I have intrigued about spraying silver jewellery gold. I have never thought about doing that - what a good idea! Thanks for sharing.
I had agreed with you about 4/1 for you... now it seems so obvious that your dominant type is 1... I always thought it was so cute how you would wiggle your bangs and talk with your hands!! Diane, a couple of months ago I saw that book at my library and you had mentioned it, so I took the book out. Now, I adore you and respect you oh sooo much, but I have to be honest. I thought the book was so silly and ridiculous. I get the color thing, like certain colors look better on different skin tones, but I thought this was way out there. If you love silver jewelry, you will reflect that happiness when you wear it and people will be drawn to you (Like we already are)! You're having a lot of fun with it, so enjoy!
I love silver and use to not like gold. Now I enjoy both. Don't put yourself in too small a box. Life is too short for that! :)
Got the second coat of paint on my bath vanity. Will do touchups tomorrow. It was so hot , it was difficult to paint. Alan put the bags of mulch out by the entrance flower beds and I will spread after the gym. The entrance area is nicely trimmed and weeded now. I am going to get a closet system for the large walk in downstairs. Will be much needed by my son, who will be living here with us for awhile. Funny, I lost one of my earrings today and was actually glad I did. I was very tired of them and they were without value.

I really think you should wear whatever makes you happy. Whatever makes your heart sing. If you like silver I don't know why you should have to wear gold if you like your black jewelry and your black clothes and your red clothes and your bright distinct sharp looking clothes I don't know why you should have to change that. I personally have watched your videos and seen your different outfits and I think you look striking in all of them. I thought wow she really knows how to dress. So I don't know. I just think you should wear whatever you like and not go by somebody else's system. But that's just my opinion. I think you look nice in the clothes that you wear , I think you're very stylish.
Gee I’m sure intrigued by DYT. Went on the website and answered the quiz which said I was a type 2. Confused about figuring out the secondary energy so have ordered her book. You can talk about DYT all you want as I find it very interesting and it is evident in your new look that you are in sync. However I also thought you looked very put together and lovely previous to DYT.

Loved the chat.Still loveing the hair spunky hairstyle. There is a saying something like "Oh she/ he's went back to doing their old things there old ways or back to their old ways thier old shelf" Where it's meant in a bad way. Well a few years ago some things in my life had changed so I had been traveling a lot & dong a lot of (unlike me things). Then one day my son around 18-19 at the time said "Mom I want you to go back to how you used to be" I said; "You mean 'go back to my old ways and being my old self'?'"' He replied with a smile; "Yeah, we (all four of my children) liked you better that way." It really hit me hard. ~~In my case it was true. My old ways and old self was a "good thing"...lol Funny how life works that way sometimes. I still have a little of the other(unlike me) in me but rediscovering the good parts can be comforting and reassuring to ones self.

HI Diane, Your hair looks so beautiful!! :) I have been doing this since Winter (said it on Instagram) I am very much a 2 but a bit of a 1. I can't believe how true this is for me too!!! I keep the black as a base color because if I did I would have to give away a large majority of my clothes. I had to laugh about the LOL because we just returned from holiday and I had a very large LOL! The LOL is my thorn, so this month I will try to see it in a different light. I'm just new to DYT. I can't wait until I have my DYT type set in my mind. I feel I went down the "capsule wardrobe" path and have ended up with a closet full of black, white, grey, stripes, and cognac. I'm feeling I might be a Type 2. Trouble is....all the type 2 clothes look like pajamas to me - so I'm not very happy with my type. Perhaps that's a clue to what my secondary should be. Need those clean lines. I love watching your videos showing your DYT journey! Same journey I'm on right now. Still waiting for my color cards - it will be fun!

I think silver would still work for your wardrobe as long as it's bright and shiny, not dark silver. What about mixing silver and gold? There are a lot of items that mix silver and gold in the same piece. Then you can wear either gold or silver coordinating pieces. Example: a necklace with both gold and silver, then you have the gold, but you can still wear silver earrings and bracelets with it.
Thank you for this video, I have been on the fence. I'm in a severe style funk. I'm pretty sure that I'm a type 3 but not sure about secondary haven't really thought about it anyway.

I watch your videos daily - a highlight in my routines. I did the free online course and am a type 3. I found a sneaky photo of the T3 colours on Pinterest (don't tell Carol 🙊) which I screenshot and refer to in shops. It's been really difficult finding anything over the summer season but I am hopeful that the autumn season will bring out the muddy colours!

Yay Diane! I am so excited for you! You've always expressed wonderful energy, even on days where you didn't feel up to it (true cheerleader qualities!) Your energy is contagious! I have found it to be amazing to find my energy, thinking I was a 1 but I'm really a 2 and figuring out about parental influence and expectations. A few years ago I got a color me beautiful session. Is this like that? They said I couldn't wear black anymore, like you with the silver. I missed the black so much that I switched to almost only black clothes for years. Now I am ready to meet in the middle and I am going to look into this dressing your truth.
Love this ❤ I have found it very helpful for decluttering too! I was hiding as a 2 for a few years but now I feel like this system has given me the permission to be myself again after depression. I used to love daft socks and things but I am finding that the more I dress as a type 4 the less I need the fun/silly to satisfy my need for something different that feels fun to me.
