- A lot of Korean barbecue restaurants have a thing they do really well, or maybe something you rarely find- but sometimes you want consistency and to know exactly what you're going to get from a restaurant. Baekjeong can give you that. Join host Matthew Kang as he explains why Baekjeong is the best chain.

Before going to the NYC location, I had been to the Queens location before and I liked the Queens location more. The differences are subtle like the side dishes offered and the ability to order yogurt soju instead of the upcharged cocktails they offer at the NYC location. The 24/7 Korean supermarket across the street in the Queens one is also a plus because we usually go in there and get desserts from the freezer section lol.
The best part was her selection of a subject when lunch at school part came up lol
4:06 mate almost broke his teeth on the whole spoon. Calm down hungry much 🤨😂😂😭
To be honest, I have been to this restaurant in LA, and the level of service and food was so good, but the thing that really surprise me is the veggie salad with kosujung sauce best salad i every had.
the best video this guy did. not comparing korean food to other cultural food. not saying this is the korean this or that. keeping it korean. talkin about the variation of actual korean food.
Love KBBQ and we personally love the location in Flushing the best and had the opportunity to do a video there showing how to eat it properly. 😍 Soooo delicious! 🤤
LifewithAnnaBee that lowkey advertisement tho
LifewithAnnaBee Come to Cali much better here 😉
That looks amazing. Serrano peppers are earthy but the seeds can be bitter. I might buy more and pickle them to see how that turns out. Love seeing these because they make me more interested in trying them. I'm mind blown compared to what I'm used to which is Chinese takeout.
Baekjeong is for sure one of the best Korean bbq places I’ve been to
I never get tired of kbbq.
Best in the world.
some korean bbq place just looking at the side dishes and how they we're presented you already kno its gonna be good.
My mouth is watering now...
you are the guy watching Hodgetwins.
Infinite Athletics lol
Watching this late night and feeling hungry 😔
The lunchbox this is definitely an old timey 70s 80s thing. Regular students don't have lunch like that anymore, so its catering to nostalgia.
Correct, mostly a nostalgia thing these days.
Agree. I naver had that kind of launchbox in my school age
Yeah, most of the time he has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to Korea lol. Literally every video (when its Korean food), he will say something absolutely false
Space Rodeo I reallt do like Matthew as a host, but his understanding of korean culture definitely is superficial. Like he has clear korean roots and does have a genuine love of korean food, but he does need to educate himself more on korean culture as a whole.
I've never had Korean, but now I want to try it!
Come visit Torrance in ca when the pandemic is over. Baekjeong has the best Korean food in town. I even recommended that place to my friend at work. I would recommend baekjeong to anyone who doesn’t have a very big appetite lots of food at the all you can eat bbq places.
I learnt a lot from this video😁
Planning a visit in 2 weeks, party of 2 on a Sunday. Will the wait be longer for early dinner or later, 8 pm?
Mmmmmm Need kbbq ASAP!
Baekjeong in LA changed my life forever!
Its not just having bbq but a complete food experience
And this episode is sold!
wow, super love it. 😘
The side dishes are appetizing on their own.
I love baekjung. Also for some reason the servers at the one I go to are always good looking
What's the name of the grill they are using trying to find a place to buy one ( UK ) based if anyone can help, please an thank you!
Nice! I been there few times. Good service every time!
I recommend Jong-Ro. =)
I’ve had pork jowl in the form of guanchale a few times and if I’m being honest it’s not my favorite. But the beef tongue looks delicious
I'll try this place, got it bookmarked with Yelp. High reviews = long wait times. Too many people in LA!
Sweet I was afraid the series was done!
Can we get anytbing other than kbbq? We understand koreans have bbq
I'm so hungry watching this.
I ate there and the pancakes are heaven 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍🥰🥰😍
I swear the way foodies and critics can describe and articulate how good food is, vs me who just says "yeah, it taste good."
Hey ! If your in Los Angeles, CA bro I’d strongly recommend the 7’th Street Korean BBQ, on the corner of Vermont, and 7’th Street, in the. Korea town, vicinity they have one of the most highest quality in meats of all.
There are like 5 employees watching them like they’re ready to jump them 😂😂
강호동씨 미국에도 가게 내셨구나... ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 정작 한국에선 본적이 없는거 같은데요ㅠ 치킨집밖에 못봤는데
I live in Montana is K-Town in LA?
I have tried so many KBBQ places in Ktown and Kobe Wagyu in Japan, Kang Ho Dong is the best KBBQ in the US.
is this location not all you can eat?
Why am I watching this when I'm very hungry...
co host was BOOORRRINNGG
Hey Matt, you look a bit like Kang Ho Dong himself lol!
I recognize the struggle with the front door...the door at the NY location is notorious for being ridiculously hard to open.
4:06 tried to eat the whole damn spoon
pass this place overtime I goto k town, ik where Im going now
OMG i really love korean barBQ...
Funny fact about the lunch box: you would fight over who gets to place it on the very bottom bc you the want the rice to crisp/burn up (new-dhun-jee).
Yes!!! Truth!
Haven’t dined at this restaurant before, but it looks pretty good. Do they really lay out the sides before you sit down, or was it just for this show?
They usually have the tables laid out already.
yo that's legit service then
Everything is setup before you arrive to your table
I went to the one in L.A. and the banchan was already laid out. Everything Matthew was saying is exactly how my experience went.
Yep, it does. This is one of my favorite kbbq places because the service and meat quality are great
"I'm starting to get full." *sees plates of uncooked meat* WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE GETTING FULL?!
Got excited. Googled the closest location. Only 2 in North America. What.
THIS LOOKS SO GOOD
Holy shit, I've missed K-town!
I seen the NY episode on Hulu and I went to the Torrance location twice in Ca. Baekjeong has the best food in town.
Whoah - hey. Was there a cardboard cutout of Matthew without his glasses at the door as they walked in?! The place is not only good, they mess with your head when you go there! I gotta go now! Are they going to seat me with a guy who looks like a red haired me? Maybe they'll have a guy who sounds and talks just like me do the serving?!
TURN UP 🔥🔥🔥
Ate at Aghassi Gopchang in LA and it was dank. It popular because the owner of both of these chains is one of South Korea's top TV host and former wrestler who does Aegyo too much LOL. It's hard to find restaurants here in the U.S that doesn't serve Perilla Leaves which is uncommon here.
Was at a place that had bbq like only it was in Vietnam and they didn't have meat they had fresh fish and the dip was some thing from out of this world........sorry, I really like Korean bbq but just had a mental flash back.
They BEST Korean BBQ in SOCAL as well. So far.
100% agreed. I had this bbq in Beijing and had the best bbq in China. I also ordered a raw beef dish ( and I would usually never suggest you to eat raw beef in China) but damn, it was delicious and my stomach loved it too ( as in no sick feeling at all just like any good and expensive beef tartare). Strongly suggest it.
Is there something wrong with the lighting to anyone? It looks off to me.
Because Kang ho dong endorses it
SoneDiadem Wasn't sure if it was actually him lol.
0:34
SoneDiadem That’s because he is the owner of the restaraunt? 😂
6:50, the subtitles say Bulgogi, but I'm sure he said "Marinated Galbi"
Bruno Bursic What is the difference?
@@JustinLiu-pt7nl im korean. I know which is which. But i dont know whats differrent. But it is different. Usually Bulgogi is saultier. And sizzle the meat with onions and spring onions etc. But marinated galbi is actually it cooks itself. And galbi means "Ribs" in korean.
She should be the next female host instead of that "other" one.
Exactly. She's able to articulate what she's eating, identify some ingredients, make comments and useful observations.
no cult following episodes this last two months?
can she do it while learning math?
I work there 🤗🤗
Shouldn't this ad have a disclaimer notice on it?
Is it just me or the contrast is a bit too high in this video?
Are they in San Francisco? Cause there is no good korean food up here.
Beef tongue is the best meat to order at a kbbq place. Well that's my fave.
nice #ad
meat is just a sauce delivery system. its actually amazing how little flavor meat has without major prep work.
Probably never had real good quality steak then...salt, pepper, garlic, butter, and an herb of your choosing and you're good to go. Hardly a sauce delivery system
That door is no joke. Hard to open every single time!
I’m not even kidding my uncle owns this restaurant
What's with the weird rave music. 😂
But damn, need to try me some Korean BBQ. :(
English! Hi for bad sorry : )
Baekjeong means butcher in Korea. Actually it's kind of disparaging word. I think it goes well when used as a name of Korean BBQ Chain but, You never call a butcher "Baekjeong" in Korea. That is so disrespecting word. Just saying!
Yeah Aghassi Gopchang another part of the chain sounds bad. Its roughly means young lady intestines altogether sounds bad. Aghassi itself respectfully is fine.
why is his every video the same? its all korean grill
If it ain’t broke, why fix it?
0:29 colleague huh? You guys were holding hand ;)
p0ywave damn , Just noticed that after you point that out
Omg what are you like 10?! They HELD HANDS it's not like they were making out or something.
Wow ! you're good !! :D
They actually aren't holding hands. Their hands swing very close to each other but, who knows, maybe they just swung close.
he has a wife man
lines are so long tho...
same in my city. tried to go once, but we left cuz the wait was too long. still haven't tried it yet.
Bomb
I just had Filipino bbq skewers so bomb
Where is K-town?
Shoutout #JED123 the teeth channel
I don't know if it's just the case with this restaurant and the ones i've been to in London, but Korean BBQ is super expensive. For the amount you pay it's not even high end. One of the places i went to in Seoul, 4 types of meat, rice, pork stew, dips, wraps and soju came to £16 altogether for 2 people. I've lost my love for Korean BBQ in London cus it's just not worth the price
Roady6 how much meat did they give?
Roady6 honestly, the kbarbecue scene in america is actually slightly different than that of actual korean barbecue in korea. because american beef is so cheap, kbbq is affordable but actual kbb in korea is like a special event/treat
London is super expensive anyway.
I'm starving now
There's one in ktown Los Angeles and rosemead. This place is expensive. It's not all you can eat. I got the two person combo the first time and was not full. I went again with 3
People and got 2 two person combos and it was too much...
I think theres one in city of industry as well...
Daniela is a restaurant expert? Does she have a restaurant? Perhaps worked in one? I assume so.
i only eat there now, i can't eat anywhere else now
He looks like Kim Jon un
the best bbq restaurants has more waiting staff than the customers. hmm.legit.
looks good. now i want some meat. also nice hair cut matthew kang.
Any city??? It's literally only in LA and NYC lol but good try...
Maybe it goes by different names in other cities? In Atlanta, it's called 678 KBBQ, and I know for sure it's Kang Ho Dong's chain cuz his face is on it lol.
Too expensive too little meat.
Averages $40 per for very little meat. Not worth.
That's what my friends are thought too. $40 per person and it's not all you can eat? But when we got there and ate, what we ordered was more than enough for all of us (and we're the type of people to get our money's worth at all you can eat places), and the quality of the meat is much better than your typical AYCE joints for kbbq.
Smells good while you're learning math!? Woooow lol
Yikes, consistency? The other day I shelled out $100 for a large combo (brisket, short rib, and another choice). Only the brisket was above average, every piece of short rib was tough and had inedible muscle in the middle and the 3rd choice, which was marinated short rib for us, was at least tender but lacked any of that great short rib beef flavor. The free egg was better than the short rib...
Damn, which location did you go to? Not sure if you nearby the area, but the one in Koreatown in LA always nails it. Never had a bad short rib there.
We don't have one in Kansas City

ALL THE "LOL"z
haha while youre learning math
Is this a paid advertorial, because if so, ethically you should really say.
Not ethically, legally. If they haven't said so, it's not sponsored.
What does being a chain have to do with consistency? If anything it's less consistent as meats and people cooking them vary place to place. Also this place does not have good quality meat from my experience. You're better off going to a local kbbq joint. Probably a better deal too.
기대 많이 했는데 한국이였으면 어림도 없었을 수준의 고깃집임 그냥 저냥 동네 체인점 수준이에요
Cook it more dang everything was almost raw. Not too bbq
