So unbearable pain 😭 it's not just charming sad chords. It's just his all saddens and agony. It's a masterpiece. Not over played.
My favorite piece by Beethoven. I wish I had such talent.
1st mov. is not thaaaaaat hard, you should try it =) don't give up. talent is actually made of hard work
Practice you scales and arpeggios
@@vivibilswag 2-3 years with a decent professor for an adult worker (as usual, subject to how much time can be spent on hobbies)
@@vivibilswag I think he might of meant talent in composing
If you meant talent of playing, I learned this piece when I was around 14 years old with no prior piano lessons (: it’s fairly repetitive and easy to follow
Not so easy to play. Really proves the quality of the pianist - most notes needing to be very evenly and lightly struck, but with certain melodic lines needing to be lifted out. Beautifully played sir. And superb technique!
I like Paul Barton version compared to other pianist. Most pianist take prior in technical skill(accuracy and speed) over expression (feeling). They seems like play too rush or too fast. Paul Barton has a good balance in both with accuracy and an expressive impression of his own style.
i think there are always fads in music and for a long time speed has become an obsession to the detriment of much of the late classic and early romantics which sound better when speed gives way subtlety.
Very "metronome", but very sensitive as well, especially the left hand. And beautifully slow. Bravo and thank you, m. Barton
The way this person plays the piece, is faster than usual
I've known your channel for 4-5 years. truly best channel, one of em
4:54: The stretch to play a 9 note span (C sharp to D natural in the right hand) is the hard part for smaller hands. He does it with ease.
That just 7.5 white note count
There is a similar 7.5 stretch in the beginning as well, quite easy with practice
My Inmortal Beloved.. Forever Magnific!🔥
Just love it. Really inspiring too, as I am working on this piece and getting stuck in certain passages. This inspires me to keep at it. Thank you!
Played pefectly🎉
Wonderful, I love your videos, thanks teacher, greetings from Montevideo - Uruguay!
It was the first ever composition that i wanted to learn, and with which I went to my current teacher a loooong time back. Still haven’t mastered it (mostly because I’m a “””lazy””” bumbum 🙃 )
But also because of depression n stuff, and my piano being an ancient half-alive cow .__.
@@Space_Potat 👀 You are probably a master by now
For sure
@@Space_Potat Playing piano helps me cope with my depression, but we all have different methods.
LEDISthebest uuuuuuhhhh,,,,,, 😬. I probably could be 😬...... if not for my executive dysfunction. And many other not visible to the eye things 🧠
Thank you sir
Gracias por compartir!!
Simplesmente, genial!👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you.
Thanks a lot for this partitur . I'm looking for this. God blessed you.
Obrigado
Superb.
Very nice

Beethoven. Saludos cordiales para todos.
I love❤
Amen
more feeling than any composer bet me

Magnifiquement triste...
Mr. Paul Barton, I have asked you about Norma’s reminiscences by Liszt (Bellini) in the video of your interpretation of the third movement of this same gorgeous Beethoven’s Sonata.
Attending to the possibility of that my request might be not pleased, and totally understandable in what I concern. Could I know, instead, your opinion about it?
Always grateful of your videos. My greetings.
супер!
The amount of time necessary to write fingering down on sheet:
Pro: 20 minutes
Intermediate: A few hours
(me) A novice with small hands having to make alterations while watching a Pro play: WEEKS
is it just me or was satie's gymnopedie no2 heavily influenced by this
idk just the energy.. or the chord progression? melancholy?
do i have to use pedal on this sonata or not please someone explain to me
You are the artist, you decide. The pedal is not actually used in this piece but many use it to add "feeling".
A la mesure 12,il y a une faute d'impression qui fait faute d'harmonie entre le premier et deuxième temps. Une faute d'octaves consécutives. Le do central doit rester en place et ne pas suivre le chemin de la basse.
Prelude one bch vs moonlight sonata , how music evolves
Is it in cut time or common time, becuase i looked in other sources snd it was in 4/4 not 2/2
2/2 and 4/4 are same , but this song is in 2/2 so you’ll call it 2/2 not 4/4 okay 👍🏻 so cut time it is
Am I crazy or is there a wrong sharp before D in the forth bar??
everything beautiful but.. PLEASE I'M TRYING TO STUDY THIS TUTORIAL EVERY MONTH AND THERE ARE STILL ADVERTISEMENTS, OMG IT'S SO ANNOYING

I DONT HAVE PIANO BUT I CANT PLAY PIANO I DONT KNOW THE NOTES
I don't understand those dislikes...
They probably hit the wrong button or something
fussy pianists that think they can do better.....
Your tutorial/cover would be more efficient if you insert a slide bar, because sometimes,it's gets a bit difficult to figure out where you are....
Sonata needs a really big hand. A forewarning to people that have small hands.
beethoven is the darkest and saddest composer of all time
I did a cry in my pants.
Yeah? I did a shit in mine.
La metrica del canone è sbagliata :((
You play piano very well, no doubt; however it doesn’t have any help for the beginners.
Why do performers often make a pause at bar 5???????
The fingering is not correct.
Piano players don't have to be poetic about this, it's NOT a melodrama!!!!:):):):)
Thats easy
What a brilliant comment! Thanks for sharing.
@@mythilly 😂
The metric is wrong dude
There's NO need for a pause and an accent at bar 23!!!!!!!!
That’s nowhere near pianissimo.
I always wonder what happened to beethoven when he composed the 2nd movement, incredibly ugly and boring compared to 1st and 3rd
@Lamarindo Beethoven wrote the second movement as a contrasting middle section. When you actually learn about classical form and Beethoven’s contribution to the development of the sonata and sonata form itself, you’ll actually be less ignorant and maybe appreciate his genius so much more.
The second movement is a scherzo written in C-sharp major (enharmonically related to D-flat major, and because it’s easier to read that way Beethoven kept the flats). Another way it eminates contrast is the extreme legato and staccato contrast in the thematic material.
The entire movement contrasts the first movement due to it’s more upbeat character, and contrasts the third movement because it is much more stable in terms of speed, rhythm and harmony. It links the two outer movements, and works as a sort of “pallet cleanser” in my opinion.
I hope that you one day understand that Beethoven didn’t compose ugly music. His music, as with all music, can only be appreciated once it is understood and admired properly. I hope you manage to educate yourself.
@@pianojam2181 well I understand your explanation but can't change my idea about how this parti s repetitive and boring...it look something taken from Beyer or Czerny exercises book for beginners :( Ok the contrast and bla bla bla but it could have been made ways better, there is nothing special here for my taste
Lamarindo Just because it isn’t fast and virtuous doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have value. I hope one day you’ll get to see what millions of people have seen throughout the centuries.
ALLAHU AKBAR
It is not ugly, i think it is great. Maybe not so popular like 1st and 3rd movement.
