In summer, the beach at Scheveningen in The Hague, Netherlands is a heaven for beach volleyball, kiting and sandcastle-building contests. As winter arrives however and frigid winds blow in across the North Sea, it becomes the scene of the biggest, toughest beach race in the world, Red Bull Knock Out. In order to race at Red Bull Knock Out, riders have to be brave, tough and quick. Now part of the new World Enduro Super Series, the event will see a mix of determined motorcross, enduro, rally raid and hard enduro riders descend on the beach to tackle the punishing track and see who will still be left standing to collect the 2018 Red Bull Knock Out crown.

Maybe now they could hold something like this but an all mx start gates and make the race like 3ish hours and let them slug it out. Sand is always fun watching, but I could be talked into a ton of different tracks and bikes/rules. I think it’d be pretty cool to see some the active Red Bull mx dudes do this

Heck’s yea!?!?! This was a lot of fun watching. Now I’d like to see this race with ken roczen in the line up. I think Kenny would rule something like this. Edit: 2 full hours in the sand, even just farting around will straight exhaust u. This was impressive asf for everybody that made it to the end. Awesome race

@@mattthompson8657 Pretty much everyone cheated at some point, some knowingly and some unknowingly. It wasn't organised well and the rules weren't maintained. Shame on WESS.
@@mattthompson8657 with so many amateur participants usually barriers, and so on were quickly broken down at bottleneck areas and after the first round around the track it was basically "where can I just drive straight and ignore the obstacles because there are no longer barrieres"

Le Touqet is definitely harder than Den Haag. Way more riders, tighter track and 3 hours long

its really difficult to drive that fast on beach sand, sure his bike is set up better and stuff but its mostly the rider. The 'rookies' who glenn keeps overtaking on the straight just dont dare to go that fast. and btw glenn only lost because watson skipped the x-loop. it wast his fault though, the race just wasn't organised well.

i was wondering that too, i was at the race and i saw most people on normal tires but i think i also saw a few with paddle tires. so i guess it was allowed
I’m betting it’s because in wet sand, and over about 45 mph, a knobby will accelerate quicker than a paddle in the sand. It’s weird, but a paddle has too much drag when you go that fast.
