I feel for the sucker's who spent their Penny's on an absolute rubbish etec just because he was plugging them.
My 7 year old 40 etec just towed a pontoon boat in to a landing 2 weeks ago that had an F115 that died and whirled over but, wouldn't fire.
I Love Yamaha that much I own heaps of Yamaha everything !

Mate I got a yami 50 on me 1550 fisher and ile stik with it eco wise ya carnt beat it or the 1550 love em both
Hi Matt, I have this exact same set up that I have recently bought but with 2 people in the boat and 2 tote tanks I’m only managing to get a top speed of 22 knots (sog on the chart plotter). This could be due to the extra weight in the boat or maybe there are other factors at play. Out of curiosity what prop are you running and what mounting holes have been used to mount your motor?

One question to the expert: Is there a difference in sound between F50 8V and F70 16V? In have never heard both motors in direct comperison...

Hi, ive got a 80lb braided line on my reel,it creates lots of noise when i retrieve the line. is it bad?? because the rod tip seems to be damaged by the braid.
If you havnt figured it out mate either you have the wront tip on your rod that isnt suited for braid or its the braid your using 4 strand braid kills eyelets and tips like no tomorrow so always go the expensive 8 or 12 strand japanese stuff
What is the weight of that boat? Approx weight loaded down as you’ve had it and speed loaded? Thanks

On my 1st trip on a houseboat with twin 2015 f60 Yamaha's i was let down by one of the motors stopping as it is an EFI motor a lot to go over to find the problem why it starts then stops lucky had 2nd motor to get back to port i can say i never have a problem with my old 1982 2 stroke 115hp evinrude lucky me hey i see why you go with a 4stroke today but feel relet down to say Toyota of the water i don't think so.

Actually, that is a really bad idea and false advertising by a number of outboard manufacturers. If you still don't flush via the intake ports at the bottom of the leg with muffs, then the pickup pump doesn't get flushed...and guess what happens next ?
@@markleeson3453 I'd take the advice of the engineers then strangers online.
Plenty of four strokes out there only get flushed this way and none have issues.

Unimpressive, 28 knots while ok is not enough. Need 30 knots on a boat like that, needs a f60 31 knots or a f70 34 knots). Very underpowered!!
Bro, they are not light boats. There solid. The couple extra knots is not work the extra 3-5 grand
Pull out the restrictor plate and you'll have an f60 🤷♂️
