    We'll delve into two groundbreaking South African case studies that exemplify biophilic principles in action. Explore the Green School, a revolutionary educational space where students thrive in harmony with the natural world. Then, discover how a residential project, the Fynbos, seamlessly integrates modern living with the unique beauty and biodiversity of the Cape's distinctive vegetation.
    Speaker 1: Green School SA (Theuna Stoltz)
    Theuna Stoltz is a dynamic young female architect who graduated with a masters degree from the University of the Free State in 2016. She has a wide range of international and local experience in single and multi-residential, mixed use and institutional design. In 2017, Theuna, joined GASS Architecture Studios, where she is responsible for the overseeing of projects from concept design to completion. Amongst some of the projects that she worked on includes the sustainable campus, Green School South Africa. Through her involvement in this project, she demonstrated her commitment to environmentally conscious design, striving to create spaces that not only minimize their ecological footprint but also foster a sense of connection to the natural world. With a focus on innovation and collaboration, Theuna approaches each project with creativity and empathy, has a keen eye for detail, is passionate about the social and environmental sustainability of the built environment and the enduring qualities of the buildings we make.
    Speaker 2: The Fynbos (Donovan Gillman)
    Donovan Gillman is a landscape architect and principal of Urban Choreography, the firm designs landscapes for urban, residential, commercial and leisure developments in Southern and Central Africa.
    Donovan’s qualifications include a Higher Diploma in Landscape and Horticultural technology and MLA (Master of Landscape Architecture) (UCT). With over 30 years of experience, he was a founding member of the South African Landscapers Institute (SALI) and winner of many SALI awards of excellence, and honorary lifetime membership of SALI in recognition of outstanding service.
    Donovan is a past President of the Institute for Landscape Architecture in South Africa (ILASA)
