    About this Event
Join us for an insightful webinar exploring the concept of ecomobility and its implications for South Africa. Ecomobility refers to environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive urban transport options, encompassing walking, cycling, public transport, and electric vehicles. In the South African context, ecomobility presents unique opportunities and challenges due to the country's diverse urban landscapes, socio-economic disparities, and environmental considerations.
Speaker 1: Rosebank e-Micromobility Pilot Project (Andile Skosana)
Andile is an urban enthusiast with substantial executive and consulting experience spanning many years as a development planner and strategist. He specialises in integrated development planning, projects and portfolio prioritisation, urban management consultation and business intelligence and process improvement to name a few.
Andile is spearheading the Rosebank Green e- Micro Mobility Pilot Project as a director, in partnership with Rosebank Management District, City of Johannesburg Municipality, Greater Alexandra Chamber of Commerce (GALXCOC), Mobility Centre For Africa (NPC) and many other private companies.
Speaker 2: Langa Bicycle Hub (Mzikhona Mgedle)
Founder and Managing Director for Langa Bicycle Hub, collaborator with implementing and engagement skills and communication liaison officer at EDP. He established the Langa chapter of the Community Action Network (CAN) as part of the Cape Town Together network. This initiative was a response by the community to Covid-19, where people used bicycles to deliver medication and meals from community kitchens to homes in Langa.
Langa Bicycle Hub is a cycling revolution that provides services to the Langa community such as collecting bicycle materials that are old and damaged, teaching people how to ride, and helping build bicycles that are fit for riding through informal settlements with gravel and flooded roads. Empowering people in the community to use bicycles as a means of transport.
