And Pac, both of y'all should be living
1:29:22 You missed a key point. 2Pac made the original "Hit Em Up" in October 1995 for All Eyez On Me. When 2Pac and Faith hung out she heard the beat and went back to NY and told Diddy and Biggie about it. At this time, 2Pac scrapped it from All Eyez On Me and scrapped his concept album "Thug Life Vol. 2: Still I Rise". Which "Hit Em Up" appeared as track 1 on that concept as well.
Faith telling Diddy and Biggie about the beat is why Bad Boy dropped the Get Money Remix with the same Dennis Edwards sample from "Don't Look Any Further" in February 1996. This is why 2Pac remade the song after that and added in lines "take money" which was a twist on "get money".
Faith is the reason those lyrics exist and the reason why the song got remade and released in a more potent manner. 2Pac scrapped the original. Dont get it twisted.
Also the 1995 version leaked after 2Pac was already dead. It had no factor in the beef other than having Faith knowing the sample.
How bout you make your own Documentary sir?

It's so weird seeing this type of video where they don't try to make 2pac or Biggie look like villains in this situation. Kind of refreshing.
True he came off very objective.
I will say in terms of the context of this video.
2Pac was the villain. When you threaten spouses and kids in your song, you lost the plot. Not even just a mention, but a legit threat to them, bro you signing a death wish.
It was a reckless dumb action he took. I was surprised how much I actually respected Biggie decisions and absolutely hated the decisions 2Pac made.

The 90’s was so sketchy that you could literally show up to a random studio as a group dressed in army fatigues say “you’re with security” and nobody wouldn’t question a thing. Incredible. #smh 💯
I grew up in the 90s it was everything
Since Im sure this video will introduce a lot of people to the East vs West Coast beef, let me make it very clear; No, Biggie ve Pac was NOT the beginning of East vs West. It started well before them, but their situation got intertwined with other problems between both coasts that escalated the situation much further. I just want to make this clear to people, because many think this beef arbitrarily started ended with Pac and Big, and that's far from the case.
Yeah The West Coast vs. East Coast rivalry in hip-hop began in the late 1980s and intensified in the early 1990s.
It started with MC Hammer “Turn This Mutha Out” video clearly said “You ain’t hittin in New York” that was 88-89 💯
45:09 These are two different recordings. Keith Murray version has a different Biggie vocal take with slightly different lyrics. The 2nd version was recorded after Mary J. And her label decided not to use it. So for anyone saying Biggie already had the song done, sure. He had one verse done. Then they remade it once Pac got shot and issued it fully knowing the circumstances even though the beat was already used on Mary's album.
You can also tell the solo recording was done later as Biggie had to remove the Biggie Smalls mention in his original verse and change it to BIG after they got sued in 1994.

Snoop Dogg and Diddy knew both of them real well.
What a lot of people don't know is that Faith Evans went to California to write songs and sing hooks for money. She spoke about this in her book. Despite her first album doing well, she was not really getting paid by Bad Boy. Plus after her and Mary J Bligd recorded a song on her album, her and Mary fell out and Bad Boy had to re-release her album without the song with her and Mary's duet, which cost Faith a lot of money as well.

57:24 this is debatable. Death Row put out Above The Rim and Murder Was The Case soundtracks in 1994. Both considered classic soundtracks. I wouldn't call that a fall off. But from a solo album perspective, yeah they were slow at dropping projects
That’s why 2pac was mad at Dr Dre taking too long to make 1 song
I literally came here to say the same exact thing. Both were certified classic soundtracks. A side note. Imagine if Suge signed Warren G and his debut actually dropped on Death Row around that time. That would’ve filled that solo void at that time.

Best beef ? You mean the most TRAGIC. Both of them died and NO it wasn't worth it. It should've ended IN THE STUDIO. Biggie "response" to Hit Em Up also was after Pac's death and it was nowhere near as direct or scathing let's be honest here. Long Kiss Goodnight is not an all time diss track. It's not even really discussed 25+ years later. We still discuss Takeover and Either till this day for example
@@AngeBiampandou You got a point. I did say arguably. Their beef was pretty influential to the point whee we might not get "Takeover vs Ether" and other diss tracks that were based on "Hit 'Em Up" or "Who Shot Ya?".

These two were turned against each other by their “mentors” Suge Knight and P Diddy. I wouldn’t be surprised if they knew what was really going on, and secretly squashed their beef.
11:20 2nd album was called Troublesome 21, not Troublesome. And that was from 1992, not 1993. And Thug Style was a 1993 album, not 1992. Which Thug Style got reworked into other concepts including R U Still Down which would split off into Me Against The World and Thug Life Vol. 1. Snoop and DPG heard the Thug Style drafts which is why that got changed. 2Pac references Biggie copying his album which would be the later iterations "R U Still Down", "Stay True" and "F*ck The World". "Mr Middle Finger" and "Troublesome" was also other 1994 concepts.
Also the songs and albums didnt get rejected due to lack of marketability. They got rejected due to the media and political pressure Time Warner faced with music depicting cop killing. Which 2Pac rapped about police on most of his records.
Wow the breakdown is amazing u got there
Many mistakes in the video, but whatever
What about body count - cop killer.
I'm not going to lie, this video doesn't provide any new info and blatantly copies multiple videos about the Pac and Biggie beef made by Hip-Hop Universe. It also provides some inaccuracies and doesn't cover a lot of events in the beef. You can't tell me half of this shit ain't even relevant either such as Eazy's little dispute with Pac, Dre and Pac's issues.
Let's also get this straight. While Whot Shot Ya, the ORIGINAL VERSION, was created before Pac got shot up, the 2ND VERSION was not. The second version included a second verse which was aimed at Pac and most notably Jay-Z at the time, because of DJ Clark Kent. The later part is a whole other story. This video saying Who Shot Ya was not about Pac, is not true and this is how misinformation gets spread.
Not only that. Puff screaming '95 mfs all over the track. Had to been rerecorded
@@datruth9585, well it wasn't re-recorded, it was just added onto. But you are correct in that also pointing to the fact the track was finished in '95, and was intended as a Pac diss.

I really hate when they tell this story. Big didn’t know Puff was there until the situation happened. Puff came through to see if Big was sneaking and doing music for Junior Mafia.
