First of all, apologies on taking FOREVER to get this video up. This is actually my 3rd or 4th attempt filming this. I decided rather than trying to cram everything in one video, I will split it up and be more thorough instead. Today, I will share the skincare products that keep my skin young, healthy and clear.

I’m a licensed esthetician and Bubs did a great job at explaining what the ingredients do, what they’re used for, how to use them, and she did finally talk about SPF! I was waiting for her to say it! Haha but SPF is SO important. It is just as important as retinol, vit c, acids etc. I wanted to expand on the importance of SPF. SPF in makeup is not good enough! You need to be using a separate SPF 30 or higher. It needs to be 30 or higher and it needs to be reapplied every two hours or so. Retinol should only be used at night as it makes the skin very susceptible to sun damage during the day. Do Retinol at night and vit c with spf in the day! SPF needs to be worn rain or shine! In the summer and WINTER! If there’s a shadow, there is sun! The sun is the NUMBER 1 extrinsic aging factor, so limit your sun exposure and wear sunscreen 🧴

So she mentioned that vitamin c and glycolic acid shouldn’t be used together, and that glycolic acid and retinol can be used together but be cautious if you have sensitive skin, but can you use one in the morning and the other in the evening with no I’ll effects? And when in the skin care routine should spf be applied?
Ariel Bun it can depend on the type of product you’re using that has the glycolic acid. Is it a wash or a topical? I use a glycolic acid exfoliant. So I use it and then wash it off. Then I follow with the rest of my routine which includes retinol. I use vit c in the day time and retinol at night which is fine. I think as long as you’re not layering topical products with stronger acids along with retinol, you’re safe. But just be careful, because what works for my skin might be too harsh for yours. You can build tolerance to acids and retinol. SPF is applied last, over all your other skincare products.

Ariel Bun No that’s a toner. It has glycolic acid in it and provides some exfoliate benefits, but it is not a true exfoliant.

You can use Vit C and glycolic acid (AHA) together, no harm at all. Only thing you cannot use together benzoyl peroxide and retinol.
Both are in Epiduo, a topical acne cream

Really interesting to see what you use on your skin. I use Alpha h Liquid Gold which is glycolic acid and I love vit c serums. I always use a factor 50 moisturiser as well. Your skin is absolutely beautiful💕

One thing to note about retinol is that it makes your skin sensitive to the sun, so use your retinol at night and not in the day!
Bubz, you’re good to use vitamin C and retinol together. Use a vitamin C in the morning and apply an SPF after, and use retinol and glycolic at night ❤️

So you replace creams/moisturisers with facial oils? Btw, retinol makes the skin more prone to sun damage if used in the day. I use the Glow Tonic in the day and the retinol one at night.

MM Si body shop does an spf 30 day cream that’s really good! (Uk shop)
Elta MD makes great sunscreens. I also like Obagi sunscreens. But I’m currently using Sunbum for the face.
Kielhs spf50 is good. And apparently krave’s beet the sun is good too

If you have young or sensitive skin, I do NOT recommend using glycolic acid or any kind of acid on your skin!!! Bubz is right about it helping older and less sensitive skin, however, I recently used a cleanser with a kind of acid in it and I got a really itchy, red, and painful rash-like irritation. Thankfully it only lasted a few days, but I don't want anyone else going through that!

I heard you shouldn’t use hylaronic acid in the winter as the air is drier so it will pull the moisture away from your skin to the surface instead.
Emily Smith i have heard that too, but it’s usually because people aren’t using the hylaronic acid (ha) 100% correctly! when you use HA, your skin should be damp. that way the moisture the HA pulls won’t be from your skin, but from that water.
i’m very used to dry air, so what i do is keep my face a bit damp from washing my face, apply The Ordinary’s HA, pat it in, and then spritz my face with water & pat that in again! i do this twice, and then seal it in with a gel moisturizer c: my skin is really soft & hydrated when i do this, and i live in a climate where the air is so dry & cold it hurts LOL

Anyone who sees this, could you recommend some affordable face sunscreen products? :) I've never used one, here in Finland the sun basically never appears so no one here cares about spf lol but I really want to prevent any aging :o
