Watch both of the Moral Kombat animated movies..💡(they are better than the Live action movies)
really good opening for a movie? stab him in the shoulder, thats the end of him
You just straight up IGNORED my favorite part in the entire movie, which is the training scenes... Ignored the ENTIRE SCENE. Literally. All 10 minutes of it :S
@@gabrielp9646 the movie wasn't that good anyways lol
Your video description box accidently says the movie is 2012 (it's 2021).
The guy who played Kano was a fucking absolute
treat, hope he shows up in the inevitable sequel
They'll have to pull his ass out of the netherrealm for that, lol.
Yup 👍🏿 he's the only character that I love and laugh at the most.
Yeah Kano was funny as hell,, he’s Josh Lawson and he’s know in Australia but I’m glad he got in a Hollywood blockbuster and hopefully he gets in more.
I feel like the actor was a fan and everyday he arrived on set shouting, "I'm fucking Kano!"
I mean he could get transformed even more like his character with the metal plate in place.
The sequel is already in the works, and will feature the actual tournament! I’m excited about it!
Yep, to me, this was the perfect set up movie for the actual tournament. I’m excited to see the next one too.
I need Kung Lao return dammit
And best of all, we get Johnny Cage. That has pretty much been set in stone, going by the final scene of this flick. I also reckon we're going to see the likes of Kitana, Smoke, and Shiva thrown in. MK2 is when all the AWESOME characters started showing up, and we haven't even hit the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to the potential cast!
@Jacob Hopefully JC have some Depth like in the Original 95 film.. JC got disrespected quickly in MK Annihilation
I actually liked how Bi-Han was evil in this movie, because he eventually becomes Noob Saibot, who is just frickin' ruthless
Imagine him as noob saibot
@@louzagmi5075as long as they get the costume right it will be amazing cause we all know joe taslim will kill it again!
I think we can all agree that Kung Lao had the best fatality in this movie
I loved Kabal in this movie. It was so amazing to see my favorite Mortal Kombat character get a good amount of screen time in this. I really hope that he comes back in the sequel.
"The sequel"... you know it's been over a decade already right?... They had a solid 8 years before any covid interference... and nothing...
@@James-iu2km wtf are you talking about it’s been a decade already?? You dense or something boy? Movie came out in 2021
@@schmaddydaddy3146 You're right, i'm wrong. admittedly i am horrible with timelines and remembering when movies came out or events happened. So totally, my bad, but in a small minor defense of my "high-on" moment. in the description of this reaction, they say they are reacting to Mortal Kombat (2012). in hindsight, probably just a typo of tapping 1 first instead of 2, but that was what i went off of, instead of looking up the actual release date... which was 2021 as you correctly pointed out.
You know the sequel has been greenlit after it’s performance at box office and is being written now right?
Most mind blowing thing in this movie was that Kabal was voiced by Damon Herriman. Little Australian dude that was Dewey Crowe in Justified and Charles Manson in Mindhunter.
This movie gave me everything I wanted from a Mortal Kombat movie, plenty of violence and great fatalities. If I was looking for compelling drama, I would watch Shakespeare.😂
Movies dont need to be in those two extremes. Good movies can balance both.
The movie didn't gave you the MORTAL KOMBAT
We need Johnny Cage next.
Except a convincing plot
Too bad most of the fight choreo was mediocre.
Kano 100% stole the show xD what a great choice the actor killed it!
"nothing gets past u does it?"
K Now go and watch the original Mortal Kombat, compare his performance to Travis Goddard's and delete this comment.
@@lion-dm4wc Trevor Goddard. Josh Lawson stole the show in this one, but Trevor Goddard is why Kano is now Australian.
@Nicholas Byrne exactly, 2 different versions.. both were great though this version was far funnier. I loved Kabal in this too
@@nicholasbyrne6485 Travis lmao This gotta be the worst autocorrect has screwed me over yet.
Thought he was just alright. Like everyone else except H.Sanada and the guy who played Sub- Zero. Those two carried the entire movie.
Fun Fact: The actor that plays Subzero is the Cop who fought Mad Dogg in the "Raid" movie.. He is also the star of "The Night Comes for Us" with Iko Uwais the star of the Raid movies 💡💡
His name's Joe Taslim. He's AWESOME! If u like a show with badass martial arts action with a really good story, u guys should check out Warrior.
@@brianvalencia7717 why would they need to check out that when I just named "The Night Comes for Us" which is waaay better😅
@XL I know. Just suggesting another TV series for them to watch.
Definitely!! Have to watch the original now.
This movie was everything we needed in the original but the original will always still have a nostalgic factory with me and never gets old.
I feel like they both have their place.
Plus the OG actually showed the Tournament.
This movie was like a pre fight. Lol
@@GangstaStan010 Was so obvious that it's a setup just to make a second movie, feels so weird that they do it like this
Hope Johnny is gonna be good tho
I watched this in the theater when it first came out and I lost my shit on Kung Laos fatality.
You guys did not disappoint. Thank you.
Cole's power was to take a beating, since hes an MMA fighter. If you notice his suit is like the wraps fighters use when wrapping their hands. Im so happy we are getting a sequel..
his power is plot armor....
(At 3:45) THIS is the 1st Sub-Zero. The one we know and love is the 2nd Sub-Zero, his replacement and younger brother.
They were able to put in some nice Easter Eggs for fans of the games in this. One of the more subtle ones is the continual sweeps scene during their Training. It was a very common tactic (especially against the Computer) to sweep over and over and over. Usually after the 3rd you couldn't do it any more as a Loop.
"Laser beam! Better than fireballs, ya pussy!" is one of the funniest movie quotes in my recent memory. The context of it, with Liu Kang having just helped him find his power, makes it hilarious.
“Flawless victory” is only achieved by not having suffered a single hit.
That’s why you only saw Kung Lao say it and why it’s rare.
Also, you guys might not be familiar with the relatively recent Brutalities.
It’s like Fatalities but executed right before the enemy gets stunned at the end.
Brutalities are done before, Fatalities are done after.
Brutalities have been in since MK 3(?) but they're rare. Its usually done by landing a last-hit with a specific move. In MK11, last-hitting with an Uppercut is a brutality, same with grapples.
26:45 Flawless victory is where your opponent never hits you once.
Fun Kano fact: The character was originally an Asian organized crime boss, but the 90s movie inexplicably redesigned him as an Australian asshole and everyone just liked that version better. Even in the games, Kano is now an abrasive Aussie.
I think it's because the original FMV actor for him was an aussie, and to pay homage to the games, they cast an aussie actor.
I took this movie as if I was playing story mode in the game. Your purpose was to go on a quest, meet others, defeat enemies as you go, and ultimately…unlock your own arcana. This was a fantastic video game adaptation imo 👌
This movie is really close to the games. I love both. And Raiden is actually based on the lightning guy from Big Trouble In Little China. This movie is pre-tournament.
Darker and more violent than the first films!
Another one of those *ovid movies that came out to keep us all occupied, I’m excited for the sequel
Oh, Covid?
The 90's Mortal Kombat lacked an "R" rating, so the kills were tamer. However, the actor who played Shang Tsun was a lot better in it. The character of Cole was an original character who never appeared in any of the games before this film. I loved this film and really hope they get a sequel greenlit as they teased Johnny Cage for it.
The sequel is already greenlit and will start filming around june. Also: Ed Boon is a executive producer now
I was watching another reaction and i got a notification for this, and I was like NOPE, PAUSE! and immediately started this, really curious to see what you guys thought of it. And we DEFINITELY do need the 90s Mortal Kombat reaction, that movie is so nostalgic, and very entertaining! (Not the second one though lol) This movie was good, a lot better than I thought it would be - my expectation was lower mainly because of MK2 Annihilation (lmao). There was a good balance of fighting to violence. The violence was poignant but not gratuitous. The fans loved this movie, and I think there will be a sequel. The original MK song is unbeatable honestly. But yes, PLEASE react to the first Mortal Kombat movie! It's good!
And yes, a popcorn flick is one where you completely shut your brain off. Like the Fast and Furious movies lol
Since Raiden is a god, he isn't allowed to actually fight. He can help and guide in other ways, but at this point he isn't can't help them in battle.
I love that all the characters have these emotional, and in depth character arcs that bring out their powers. And Kano is like "I WANTED A F**KING EGGROLL!!"
I loved this movie and some of the throwbacks they included in the film. I Played Mortal Kombat on SNES when I was a kid too and as a teen I played Mortal Kombat: Deception heavily with one of my best friends. In world rankings my friend was ranked number 44 in the world with Scorpion and I was ranked 186 at that time with Sub-Zero. As a 15 year old kid, this felt like a huge achievement for me haha.
Seeing your both reactions to Kano's comedic relief was fun.
If you're starting to dive into Mortal Kombat, I would highly reccomend an animated movie called Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. Goes into further detail of what happened to scorpion and it's definitely a favorite of mine!
YES!!! Please watch the animated movies!!
There are actually 3 animated movies by now, first one is still the best, but they're all pretty good. (I'm not counting the old crappy ones with no violence that they made for kids 😆)
The main character Arcana is literally the physical manifestation of plot armor. 😂😂
This movie was a lot of good fun, but i still reaaaally reaally wish we had gotten a bigger focus on just Scorpion/Sub Zero, and also had less cuts during every fight.
The guy with the bladed hat is Kung Lao from the game Mortal Kombat 2.
YES YOU GUYS SHOULD REACT TO THE FIRST 2 ORIGINAL MOVIES AS A COMBINED REACTION!
For me I’m a huge Mortal Kombat fan and a lot of fans disliked this movie…But for my brother and I we both loved this movie! I think it could have been better but it was definitely really fun and a lot better than the older movies.
Also most fans hated the original character in this movie…But my brother and I bother really liked him. We both felt that he was kind of needed in order to tell the story in the way they wanted. To give that fish out of water feel and have a character represent the audience in the film whose eyes we would see through.
They couldn’t exactly do someone like Sonya or Jax because we would already know they would get “powers” and what not.
I just think that the original character and his powers were really cool almost like black Panther’s suit…could have bee really dumb but it wasn’t. He was one of the better actors in the movie along with the guy who played Kano.
I love the first Mortal Kombat
Please show her the movie
I think the original told the MK concept better
And the soundtrack is so iconic
Coles power was literally plot armor
Did you catch the bit where Shang Tsung said: ''Today you have killed my warriors and you think you have won. But death is only another portal'' ? I don't think we've seen the last of them yet...
Oh and I think there's more than just a few great's in the gap between Hanzo and Cole, it was 4000 years lol.
Yeah! Having both 90s mortal kombat movies watched back to back would give the best reactions. You can even split them into part 1 and part 2 videos.
They signed Joe Taslim who played Sub-Zero (and becomes Noob Saibot) for at least 4 films I believe and they are filming a sequel currently
This movie has the best visuals and fighting choreography. The original has the best characters and better direction. Hopefully the sequel will meet them in the middle.
Great characters, but... the original could not have made them any more cheezy! lol Even as a teenager, I watched that movie purely as "something to do," and not because I actually thought it was great.
@@jacob4920 I thought it was great cause we didn't have that many superhero movies or games adaptations. MK was HUUUUGE
KANO CARRIED THE MOVIE. I'm just glad that this is such an improvement from Mortal Kombat Annihilation. Maybe Cole Young seemed a little cheesy to some but, in all honesty I think that he did a good job and even though it was plot armor at the end, the movie still served its purpose. The gore is what made this movie. Love you guys, thank you for the reaction.
There's definitely a lot I liked about this one, the opening was incredible, Kano, Sub-Zero and Scorpion were fantastic and there was some good fan service. I still liked the 90s movie better even if it was campy, but there's opportunity for this to improve itself in the sequel (which they did confirm was coming). If they had kept the same tone as the opening throughout the movie it could have been a masterpiece.
I thought it was fun, I think some of the hate was unwarranted I just hope it does well enough to get a sequel and go full tournament in the next film. Was fun to see you both watch it and discuss it
The very first Mortal Kombat film will always be the best in my heart.
If you're just a casual audience and have no idea about the story of the games then it makes sense you would enjoy this movie. But for someone like me who knows the deep lore of the game, this movie was GIGANTIC WASTE of POTENTIAL. The story of MK has the potential to become a franchise as big as Marvel or Star Wars, I'm not exaggerating. But this movie introduced so many characters without developing them and killed a ton of others that could play important roles in sequels. This movie is good enough for maybe a trilogy and that's it, but it could have been so much more. I'm talking great individual stories and crossovers Avengers-style with high stakes.
I just discovered this channel. I am going to give it a chance. I love honesty and sincerity when it comes to reactions...Let's see how this goes.
Nothing can beat the music from the first mk movie, still the best : )
I agree 💯
While I still love the soundtrack of the first film, I like the orchestral stuff a bit more.
Plus, you hear the Techno Syndrome theme in most of the soundtrack for the recent film too.
I love this movie. Yeah, it have some differences from the game, but the original movie also had.
This one had Fatalitys, Gore, Special powers(which the original only had for the villains, and Liu Kang in the last scene).
I found some internet reviewers pretty lame, complaining about pacing, or about storytelling.
But if it had good story telling, and nothing from the game, they would complain about that. That's why we can't have nice things.
Also Max Huang is a badass. He play Kung Lao perfectly.
That's your opinion but it's not just reviewers everyone has said the what your saying even big fans of mortal kombat know this movie has flaws people in the fighting game community who saw this know it's alright but not perfect
So the everyone's criticism is valid and is true just bc you can't see the flaws and everyone else can dosen't give you the right to say oh I hate how this person felt about the movie cause again the criticisms are valid bc it's not a perfect movie.
@@TheDoDoGuy It's not your right to spit on people who love this movie when you can't.
Best Mortal Kombat memory was either my older cousin betting money with friends against me and I knew all the moves so I got all the candy I ever could want or when I snuck in to the 90s movie at 9 yrs old, at the scene where Scorpion n Sub Zero enter, dude pulled a gat, and made the roof not rain proof. Almost stampeded. Mortal Kombat got a history yo...
Now these are actual MK fights!!
Love this movie! I watch it in the threatre in my teens and the 90s techno soundtrack just make you want fight. The best cheesiest fun action.
I've waited for this reaction since mortal kombat was released 😆
Hope you two are having an great and awesome day ❤️
As a New Zealander you can never trust an Australian 😂🤣💀 Yous steal everything from us….. come for me Oi Oi Oi
So just so y'all know the tournament didn't happen in this movie. The tournament will happen in the sequel, which is already in the works as we speak. Bi Han (Sub Zero) will be back, except he will be transformed into Noob Saibot.
BEST REACTION FROM Y'ALL!! 😂😂 You have to watch the old ones to show your wife!! 💯😂
"He's about to get his soul sucked"
(Watching in a NYC movie theater)
Audience: AYOOO!
Kano's back must've hurt from carrying this movie.
The guy playing SUB ZERO, is one of the guy in THE RAID REDEMPTION
The first 90s one was awesome
I ENJOYED THIS MOVIE! ALSO, YES THEY ARE MAKING A SEQUEL!
One of my favourite things about sub zero and scorpion is that they feel everything. Like idk which game it was but at some point sub zero says he feels the ice and how cold it is❤
FLAWLESS VICTORY!
Yes, please do reactions to the 90s versions of Mortal Kombat!
The actor playing Kano was so good at his job that I genuinely hoped that this iteration of Mortal Kombat would have understood that plotline's potential.
So much cool for a mortal Kombat 😊
Lol you both got that Australian Kano Bogan Comedic Treatment. 😜
coles power is literal plot armour.
(At 27:06) Ah great! she took my freaking kidney!
Rocking the Crucial Catch, love it! DC4L
The original song was the best; however, the Utah Saints verison was also really good. I love the first Mortal Kombat movie, but I think this one is the best one. I keep hoping they will announce a second film; because I want to see where the story will go.
Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa; who play the original Shang Tsung, is Iconic in that role. There's a CZcams series for Mortal Kombat; which features Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, and Geri Ryan (7 of 9 from Star Trek), as Sonya. She's awesome in the first 2 episodes.
Hello I just saw your content and I enjoy it a lot. A suggestion for you guys to watch is a 2004 French film called District 13 or B13 and its sequel District 13 Ultimatum.
Hey I like your videos so much
(At 13:37) it's not considered "flawless" unless you can win a fight without getting touched or hurt.
I can’t wait for the sequel.
Kano has always been the villian everybody loves
The song was made for a commercial for the game so you might have heard it on TV.
I Love the Move too
Nobody:
Me to my dog: get over here!!!!!!!
the original mortal kombat movie would be allot of fun to see from you guys
I know them all because I watched the original and played all the original 4 games when they came out lol I was yelling all the names like night wolf rofl
Hi guys! Great job enjoying this one. You should totally watch the original movie! Maybe I'm just OG but that one was more like the game and characters were pretty cool too for that era. Hope to see you for that one. Thanks...
This movie may not have been perfect on storytelling but it more than made up for it in the fight scenes
Carl Urban (Billy Butcher from The Boys) is in final talks to play Jonny Cage in the sequel.
I enjoy the elements of this film
The phrase "getting your soul sucked" wasn't a thing yet when this movie came out
As great as this entire movie is, as a whole, the best parts of this movie, are, ironically, in the first fifteen minutes. Because that whole scene with Hatori Hanzo getting killed by Bi Chen (the future Sub-Zero), and then watching him try and crawl for his daughter, when he hears her crying, but then dies before he can reach the house, and then bursts into flames... That whole scene just TEARS ME APART!! lol Like, the rest of the movie is great, but that opening scene is just... on another level!
This movie was a flawless victory and there is a sequel in the works with a trilogy planned. If they start filming this year, we could see the sequel by 2024.
They invented a new character to be the lead because everybody would want their favorite to be the lead but you can't satisfy everyone.
Definitely do the 90’s MK movies! Scorpions “get over here!” in that movie is iconic
They're working a in Mortal Kombat 2 already! In the second one we gonna have, in fact, The Tornament!
Def like you guys enjoyed it was let down you guys had know Idea who everyone was and the lore of the story from the games. Which is why big MK fans can be happy for this reboot of a movie cuz for the most part the follow the lore. Cole is just a random character they brought in. And Sub-Zero didn’t take Jax arms off it was Ermac I’m just glad they made Bi-Han a menace tho. They didn’t hold his power back at all.Hanzo became scorpion as you and in the Lore like the movie Hanzo family was killed by the Lin Quei which is Sub-Zeros clan. I would say what happens in the game but it would ruin what’s to come.
Heck yeah !!!
kanos in cobra kai, he steals miguel’s money in mexico and then tries the same shii with johnny
Oh damn what a great gift guys I actually was SO ENTERTAINED by this movie....I grew up with the old ones too and this one blew it away...gorgeous cast and blood and gore
Fun fact: Kano's actor appear in Cobra Kai, in season 5, he was the scammer that was beaten by Johnny.
Ah, I thought this is Mortal Kombat (1995)
For me, there is no other, except "Annihilation"
They hit the nail on the head. Not a perfect movie, but fun. I did a watch party for this when it dropped, and we had a blast.
Please react to the 90s Mortal Combat! It is so fun
I was SO pumped for this film and about half way through I realized it's actually campier than the original. I expected something darker and grittier, maybe more like that fan made film from a few years back, but holy hell was I wrong. Could not believe how goofy this thing was.
